Excellent Tie Rack

A lot easier and faster than scanning
The photo scanner is not much more than a box with a light in it, but it allows for easy alignment of the image with the iPhone camera (and good lighting, obviously). I purchased this item to make copies of old family photos so I can attach them to individual records in a family tree application. Overall, I am pleased with it. The process for me is much faster than traditional scanning, and allows me to crop and make small adjustments right away, rather than having to open scanned images later in a photo app. The quality of the photo copies is very good. My only complaint about the photo scanner is that the tray only allows for 4X6 and 3X5 prints. Many of my old photos (some from 1900 and before) are in non-standard sizes. I can still put these in the tray, but not all of the edges are secure. In one case the photo got stuck inside the scanner, and it took me several minutes and a pair of tweezers to retrieve it. An adjustable frame would be very helpful, and the lack of one is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. However, for most people not scanning antique photos, this should not be an issue. I have not tried scanning negatives yet, but am interested in seeing what kind of job the software does in reversing the image.
