Half-Acre Flying Insect and Mosquito Trap with Stand
Beat the buzzers with the Half-Acre Flying Insect and Mosquito Trap with Stand. It uses a combination of light, heat and carbon dioxide to lure flying insects into a trap, where they dehydrate and die.
• Lures and traps mosquitoes and other insects from a half acre away
• Catches mosquitoes, moths, gypsy moths, black flies, no-see-ums, sand flies, horse/deer flies, Asian lady beetles, Japanese beetles, wasps/yellow jackets and more
• For outdoor use
• Odor-free and non-toxic
• Exclusive 4-way protection includes:
- UV light that attracts mosquitoes with UV rays and warmth
- When exposed to UV light, the exclusive Titanium Oxide coating produces Carbon Dioxide (CO2) — the same gas which people exhale and mosquitoes find irresistible!
- Powerful vacuum action fan traps insects in a retaining cage, where they die from dehydration
- Optional water tray lures egg-laying insects
• Durable all-weather construction
• Lightweight and easy to install
• Designed to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• For best results place the unit 20–40 feet from the area you will be using and 3–6 feet off the ground, if possible
• Easy to install and whisper-quiet
• Protective screen between the bulbs and the fan
• 15 Watt vacuum
• 7-ft. cord
• Includes metal pole stand
• Includes a cleaning brush and water tray
• Some assembly required
• UV lightbulb lasts approximately 3,000 hours/4 months
• Replacement UV bulb available at SharperImage.com (Item No. 205208)
• Plugs into an AC outlet
NOTE: For best results, leave this trap on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The trap will begin to catch immediately if there is mosquito activity in the area. Female mosquitoes looking for blood will be drawn to the trap and destroyed. The trap will gradually reduce your mosquito population as it attracts and destroys them. It may take 6-8 weeks of use to reduce the mosquito population to the point that you have successfully interrupted the breeding cycle.

It works!
We had this product for a little over a week now and can definitely see the change! We used to get our yard sprayed but it gets expensive and we had to get resprayed too often so it was always a hassle. Without the spray we simply could not sit outside. I'm curious to see what happens after 6 weeks once we break full cycle but so far so good. Assembly was super easy, it is quiet and it looks good which is also important.

So far so good!
So far so good. It's working and I'm hopeful that in a few weeks as advertised, the cycle will be broken. It was easy to install. My only concern is in a strong wind it would probably blow over. I recessed it a bit into the ground and added two really heavy pavers onto the base to prevent it from blowing over in a heavy storn.

This is a very effective bug trap!
I have had this bug trap working for three weeks, emptying it out once a week, and I am surprised how many bugs it has trapped. We have had some Army Moth outbreaks and they are meeting their demise in the bug trap.Mosquitoes have diminished on my lanai.

So far so good
This was a strategic purchase for us to enable the family to spend more time outside. We live near the woods and thus mosquito bites normally cause us to head back indoors. With a patio set purchase in route, we'd like to spend more time outdoors with issues with bugs. We are a few days into the process and the collection of mosquitoes and other bugs is happening. Fingers crossed that that progress continues!

So glad I bought this one!
Better than a zapper because it works without noise! That zapping sound can be so annoying. Plus it's both affordable and stylish! Win win!

Mosquito Trap Replacement
I bought this mosquito trap as a replacement to one that I had on my back patio for over 6-years. The old one stopped working and my wife asked me to get another one since she doesn't like mosquito's or other flying insects. These lamps work extremely well and keep the insects away from us when we sit outside in the evening. After just 2 or 3 days you will be surprised at the number of insects that are caught in the trap.
