I bought this umbrella for my boyfriend. He LOVES it! It is durable and looks great. You no longer have to worry about poking someones eye out with the edge of your umbrella and it is easy to open and close also-- without pinching your fingers! Highly recommend this umbrella as a gift.

Blunt--the Dyson of umbrellas
The designer of this Blunt Umbrella is as disgusted with the whole umbrella industry as I was. The status quo is that you purchase an umbrella, use it for a season or two, then it breaks. You have a choice of shipping it back to the manufacturer with a shipping and handling fee, the cost of shipping and the fee make the cost of this choice roughly equivalent to a new umbrella, or you can toss it and buy a new umbrella. This umbrella is different. The entire design is a re-think of the umbrella concept, with the objective of making an umbrella which won't end up in a landfill (most do), which will be safer for those standing near you (no sharp points on the tips), and will tolerate extreme weather conditions. This umbrella is well made, attractive, and appears to be quite durable. I've only had mine for a month, but I anticipate being able to use it for many years to come. Aside from the larger concepts present in its design, there are a number of thoughtful details, a little durable rubber tip on the bottom and a comfortable handle. I could only be more pleased with this umbrella if it had a hooked handle.

So far, so good!
Bought this for my husband, for the upcoming aftrn. T-storms season. Old umbrella was a cheapo, and besides turning itself inside-out a lot, the ribs broke thru the fabric at their ends, making it useless. Rather than watch him spend $$ to replace these things time after time, I finally bought this one. A few days after it arrived, he carried it to work b/c forecast said aftrn. rain. Sure enuf, here it came and with strong, swirling winds. Husband's a pedestrian and walks/rides bus, so it's very important he have good protection; this is lrg. enuf to give almost complete coverage. He was waiting for bus home w/another guy. This poor fella's umbrella was another cheapo, and while they were standing there turned itself inside-out *twice*, and then a rib tore thru fabric on an end. He eyed hubby, standing fairly dry, holding on to umbrella tightly. Asked him where he got it, and admired the reinforcement where rib ends meet edge of fabric. He's carried it several times since, and it has stood up to Denver winds (very strong, and constantly changing direction) and sideways rain ;) He also like the loop so he can carry it over his wrist. Downside -- price, but if we don't have to replace all the time, prob. worth it. Wish it was made in more colors than only black. It is a bit hard to collapse; the 1st time I tried, I pinched a finger hard enough to give tiny blood blister (so be careful). One weird thing -- don't know what it's made of, but when it arrived it smelled HORRID and stunk up the condo. Had to open it and take it outside for a week (tied down, of course) It STILL stinks, if not as bad, but ... wow. All-in-all, good purchase.
- Pros
- Easy to extend
- Large enuf good coverage
- Works as advertised
- Cons
- Black only color avlbe
- Holy cow it smells awful
- Not as easy to retract
- Best Uses
