Beautiful, but NOT watertight

I purchased one to replace one exactly like it that had been given to me as a gift by my son. His purchase was also made from Sharper Image. This review is about the one given as a gift, as it failed because of placing it in water. It is supposed to be able to float in a pool or water bowl. I carefully followed all directions and made sure the bottom was properly sealed, but apparently the seal leaked and ruined the light. I felt terrible that my son had spent so much money and given such thought to what to give me, that I just replaced it. The replacement one will not be going into water! The base is very difficult to screw back on after it has been taken off, and you cant access the controls without removing the base. For one solar light, this is very expensive. It is as described though (other than being in water) and looks really lovely at night.
