Your problem of Chronic Insomnia cured !
My sleep machine is set on Ocean...but I use the rainstorm and white noise too. There are so many choices you will assuredly find the one best for you. The dual alarms are a real plus;). Even the lighted dial is adjustable for up to three intensitys so as not to keep you awake...real subtle light tailored to not waking you up during the night. Amazing machine! A must for day sleepers...night shift workers...insomniacs....even new pet owners as it provides a constant soothing sound for puppies and kitties.

I really like this product. I use it while reading, relaxing and turn it on before sleeping. The variety of soothing sounds is great. You can put it on timer or just have it on all night. Seems to be good quality which is why I was willing to pay this much. Other products seem to give out in such a short time.

The product was well made with excellent speakers and clear directions. The price was somewhat high, but I felt that I got what I paid for.

Worlds Best Alarm Clock & Sleep Machine
I was searching for the Worlds Best alarm clock and I found it. I wanted a number of features: dual alarm, ascending alarm (starts very quietly and gradually gets louder), snooze timer and nap timer. It is VERY difficult to find all of these features on one unit. The Sound Oasis S-5000 has them ALL plus much more!
It is also a sleeping aid. The built-in sounds help one to drift off into sleep. I rarely need this feature but when I do... it is great to have! The sound quality is the best that can be found on this type of product.
I also much prefer the warm amber glow of the clock over the red, green or blue found on other products. It also has a calendar telling the date AND the day of the week, right under the time. Love that too, sometimes I do forget what day of the week it is.
There is also a headphone jack and the ability (with an accessory) to gradually turn a lamp on brighter and brighter to mimic dawn. This would be great if you use blackout drapes in your room.

are the best I have found and I have been using similar sound machines for many years.
The controls are also very helpful in being able to get to the exact sound wanted and the level of decible wanted as well

Serves a purpose but not mine
We live at an intersection with too many motorcycles. We wanted to take the radio from room to room depending on where we were to block out road noise. Must use two hands to carry (no handle); must reset clock and settings each time (maybe different if we had batteries in it); cant easily flip to various radio stations like we can with Sirrius. With AM/FM radio, clarity was not always crystal clear; however, when using the various sounds....SUPERB! They were clear, relaxing, and mesmerizing. I will look for a similar model but this one does not meet all my needs.

Wonderful! The very best.
I wake up several times each night. But with this product I just push the button and am lulled back to sleep. The sounds are absolutely amazing. The ocean and rain are so soothing. I just focus on them and drift off.
Loving it!
I use all functions. The radio sound is better than average. Preset sounds are great in the day as well as at night. The lighted "time of day" is very visible yet soft enough not to disturb sleep. The buttons are easy to use without turning on a light if you need to adjust the sound at night. Have not hooked up the IPhone or Ipad yet, but am excited to know that this is possible.
No more sleeples nights
I have had this exact looking model for at least 10 yrs now. My wife bought it because I used to put on light music,which made my wife crazy. Having grown up in noisy city environment,I couldnt stay asleep once I moved out to the sticks because every car door that slammed or dog that barked woke me up,which may seem contradictory but its the sudden noises in a quiet environment.With the White Noise (or whatever sound you go with)becomes a constant & consistent noise that allows one to fall asleep & not be woken by that annoying dog barking or cat fight.My wife,who is very frugal (uh-hmm..shush,shes cheap & I couldnt believe that she would spend that much,which wasnt a heck of a lot cheaper that it is now but it still works like a charm & we just stick w/White Noise because the water based sounds made my wife have to pee...so White Noise it was & still is all these years later. I wanted to buy 1 for my son,but,as the old adage says,"A rolling stone gathe...nope..umm "With 6 you get eggroll" no,no,Oh yeah

Regarding the train sound... Would be more relaxing if recorded from outside train as it passes. Maybe some faint whistle sounds too. The current one is from inside the train, just behind the engine. Seems to tense me up instead of being relaxing.
The raining sounds should sound like it is raining outside, not inside. Like how it would sound through the window.
Great 3-D sound!! Clear and realistic. Cant tell where recording starts over. Less expensive systems are very obvious where they start over, and are not anywhere near as clear. Well worth the money!!!
Sound quality
I was hoping to replace my older clock radio that had a broken CD player. I am not completely happy with the sound quality of the radio - even if I adjust the treble/bass it doesnt sound that great. I fall asleep to the radio sometimes and I can not lower the volume enough - even on "1" it is still too loud. The sound effects can be adjusted low enough and most of them are relaxing. A few are, in my opinion, not that great, such as the train or heartbeat. The unit overall is a good size for a bedside table and the illumination is dim enough for night. As mentioned earlier, my negative review is for the radios sound quality.
Love it!
I bought this for myself and my husband to help us sleep better at night. It works! Turns out it also helps our 3 dogs sleep better, too, because they have been sleeping later in the morning which is nice.
The sound quality is good.
I love the multi features which is why I decided to purchase this model. We havent had much of an opportunity to use the iPod with it yet but I like the 3 preset radio buttons.
I did have to read the manual to figure out some things that I thought would be simple, but after reading I was able to set the clock and keep the alarm set.
Im happy with my purchase!
Sleep Sound Therapy a Winner
I use my Sleep Therapy Machine to relax while I read, just before falling asleep. The unit is easy to set up and use on a daily basis. I use my unit with good headphones, which really improves the effect of the various sounds. This machine is well made, and the designers have packed many useful features into a small space. I like the auxiliary sounds, such as the call of the loon, while listening to a stream or evening rain. Also, the AM and FM radio also comes in handy, and the simple antenna really pulls in stations, too. Highly recommended system.

This product is great! I researched long and hard before finally choosing, and this is it. It is very easy to use, and the sounds are spectacular. I go to sleep with 60 of ocean waves (can choose 30, 60 or 90) and turn it back on when I get up in the morning so that my 2nd shift husband will lull back to sleep while I get ready for work. The alarm begins softly, before getting louder, so I can get it turned off before it gets loud. The sounds are taped from nature and are fabulous! Love it....obviously.

The machine has a lot variation and seems well made. We used it right away and it helped with sleep patterns.
The Best!
If you want the best white noise machine - this is the unit to get! It is a little expensive, but I think well worth the money. It actually fills your room with sound because it has 3 speakers (one which is a subwoofer). The alarm clock is great and I can play my iPhone music through it too. The sound mixing is pretty cool too - thunderstorm is amazing, ocean surf - just like the real thing.
Best piece of equipment for the money.
Low cost with quality sound plus two alarms.
