Good quality dryer
I originally bought this thinking that I was going to use it on my dog. The dryer, while a little quieter than my older, rattly one, is NOT all that quiet. Dog said no way. However, when I then tried it on my own hair, it dried my hair twice as fast my previous dryer. The packaging was also most impressive, and crazy as it sounds, I cant bear to toss the box. I plan on covering it and re-purposing it. The box screamed out "quality product" even before I took the dryer out.
So, with all that said, although it didnt fit my original plan, I love the dryer.

Worth the price!
I cant believe how quiet, yet powerful this hairdryer is. My baby can be sleeping in the same room and she doesnt hear a thing! My hair feels silky soft every time I use this. My only complaints are that my thumb hits the heat control button sometimes while I am drying my hair and it is a bit bulky and large. Not ideal for travel.
not so hot
I wanted to love this dryer but I just dont. It is quiet but not more so than other higher end driers I have owned. Its pretty heavy and doesnt get very hot. I like the three heat settings but it just isnt very hot. My hair looks like a mess when I am done drying it and I have to use a starightener almost every time just to look decent. It adds at least 10 minutes to my styling time. I am hoping it dies soon so I can get a new one. Not worth the money!
My Husband LOVES It!
My husband wouldnt let me dry my hair while he was in the bathroom because of the high pitched noise of my old hairdryer. Drove him crazy. He loves this new hairdryer....cant believe how quiet it is. And I can dry my hair now anytime I want!! Love it!

My hair is fuller after using this dryer, its quite and fast. The size is a little awkward to handle, wish it came in a travel size.

This is a wonderful product. Excellent design with larger air intakes for better airflow which also reduces the intake screen clogging with lint, dust ect. that will restrict airflow which will lead to a shorter product life.
I especially wanted something quieter for my children and wife. She blow drys my 5 and 2 year old girls hair every other day and a high decibel hair dryer is proven to cause hearing damage!! buy this product. you will not be disappointed!
Fabulous hair dryer!
My old hairdryer was waking my husband in the morning even with the bathroom door closed. This one isnt disturbing him at all! It drys my hair quickly and leaves it shiney to boot!

Quiet, Simple, Efficient
This blow dryer is quiet enough, has very few buttons so simple to operate, and dries thick hair efficiently. Im not certain if this is the quietest hair dryer Ive owned but it certainly falls in the quiet category. I read many comments before I bought it and saw people complaining of it being bulky but I dont find it to be. People also said it didnt dry as fast but I can dry long thick hair rather quickly with it. It is on the high end price wise for a blow dryer and I just got it but I do use it everyday so hopefully it will last a long time.
Super Quiet!
I bought this for my wife because her dryer is extremely loud and wakes me up in the morning. This one has exceeded my expectations. I cant here it at all from 20 away.

Wow, Im impressed!
I bought the Sharper Image quiet blow dryer 10 years ago because I couldnt stand the sound of normal blow dryers. It was beautifully quiet, and did a fine job. I wasnt convinced it actually dried my hair any better or faster than other dryers, but it was quiet and did the job.
After 10 great years it finally died on me, and I just replaced it with this new Q version of the quiet blowdryer. WOW. This blow dryer blew me away (pun intended). It dried my straight-out-of-the-shower really thick hair faster than any blow dryer Ive ever used. It feels way more powerful than my previous quiet blowdryer, but just as quiet. Best of both worlds--quiet AND better than other blowdryers.
My final take away--worth every penny. Hopefully it will last 10 years like my last one.
A baby could sleep through this!
I searched for a year, buying and returning three hairdryers, until I finally splurged on this one. It really is quiet and I have now purchased one for my daughter as insurance against hearing loss.
Super Dryer Super Hair
I never believed that a hair dryer could make a difference to my hair. This dryer is quiet, but more important is how great it leaves my hair. First, my hair drys very fast with this dryer. Second, it is so soft and shiny which was not my experience with my old dryer. Im highly impressed. Well worth the cost. Only negative, which is a personal one, is that it doesnt fit in the drawer where I usually keep my dryer so I had incorporate into a basket below the bathroom sink. However, even though its a bit wide, it is very lightweight. If this is the only issue, I am thrilled!

This hair dryer is everything I hoped for...nice and quiet, dries my hair so much faster. However it is too bulky for me. Not that heavy, but larger than I expected.

As advertised -- "insanely quiet". It is a little larger but very light weight which makes up for the larger size. Dries hair super fast.

It protects my color-treated, weaved, senior hair, while being so kind to my arthritic arms and wrists. Ive always purchased salon-quality dryers, but this one is the best. Definitely worth the $$.
Quietest Hair Dryer
This is a great hair dryer. I use it everyday but, it is not so quiet on the high setting. My last one fell on its face and broke, that was the reason for my purchase. Luckily I had your travel size to get me through until it was sent. My only problem is that the vents get clogged and I dont know how to clean it without taking it apart. Overall though, it works great and lasts a long time. I would recommend it..

Very quiet design... Quality built
Just love this hairdryer... Quality built and innovative design. Little bulky but necessary to reduce the sound level which is does very effectively. Should have bought one of these years ago. Cheaper than the cost of a hearing aid in the long term because of its quiet design. Cost more but what is the cost of hairing loss?

Much Quieter than other Hair Dryers!
I bought two of these units -- one for myself and one for my husband, as I was tired of hearing the noisy hair dryer noise every morning when he got ready for work. I, too, wanted a quieter model than the one I was currently using. This hair dryer is much quieter; not completely quiet, however, but significantly less noisy than your "normal" hair dyers. We have only used both of them for a few days, but we are very happy with this purchase so far.
Oh So Quiet!!
Wish I had bought this hair dryer YEARS ago!! Well worth the money! Couldnt get over how quiet it was when I first turned it on...compared the noise level with my old one and was amazed at the difference. Plenty of heat and power. Kind of an odd shape, but figure that has something to do with the quietness, and because its so lightweight who CARES about a different shape! Definately recommend this for anyone who is tired of noisy hairdryers!

Have been wanting this dryer for a long time. Gave it to myself as a Christmas present. I love it. The quietness is wonderful.
Quiet and effective
Before ordering this product, I wondered if it was quiet because it was less powerful or effective. Once it arrived and I began using it, I quickly discovered that this was not the case. It dries my hair just as quickly as my old salon quality dryer, but with half the noise. I should mention that I have straight hair that does not take a tremendous amount of time to dry, on average. The only downside is that it is quite expensive; I had a voucher for $100 to spend at Sharper Image that cost $50, so I ended up paying about $85, including shipping. Im not sure I would have paid full price at the time. I think now that Ive been using it for a while and am pleased, I probably would say its worth even the full price but I guess thats easy for me to say now that I already own it... :)

Protect your hearing - Quiet is a must!
The hairdryer was a gift from my husband and it is what I wanted. The quietness definitely is a "must" feature - some hairdryers are so loud and shrill they can significantly affect hearing loss and this is a step in the right diretion. The hairdryer has sufficient heat, but also seems to not get so hot it would burn my hair. I am very pleased wih this unit.
Quiet, but slightly heavy
This is great to use at home, and doesnt wake up my spouse in the morning! Its very quiet, and has lots of air flow, and has the negative ions to make the hair cuticle of the hair shaft lay down and thus, look silky. However, its not as light as my travel hairdryer. (but, thats the trade off---weight versus noise). Im guessing that to help with the weight, the manufacturer made the handle of this hairdryer narrow and easy to hold. I got used to the ergonomic design pretty fast. All in all, Im very satisfied. The quiet motor is worth it!
Quiet hair dryer!
Overall, I love this dryer. Its fast, powerful and it is truly quiet. Before I wore ear plugs when dyring my hair. Quiet was paramount to me. Only significant downside is that the power buttons are placed on the handle in such a way that I occasionally bump them, knocking the speed accidentally from high to medium. However, I am getting used to placing my hand differently. Great product. A little too big for light travel, but thats a worthwhile trade-off.

As a frequent hair dryer user for my long, thick hair, I value power to get the job done quickly. I also realize the importance of protecting my hearing by not having regular exposure to high decibel levels emitted from a typical hair dryer. The best features of this hair dryer are that it is powerful as well as quiet!

My hair is average length and thickness and this is fine but wish I could return it as it takes too long and the thing is heavy, or as they say, bulky. It is quiet though. I have an older Sharper Image hair dryer that is lightweight and quiet but not as quiet as this one and I wanted to get a new one in case the old one quite. I am serously thinking of going back to using it as it was quicker by far albeit a bit louder. I am terribly disappointed in this dryer.

Wonderful!
I love how quiet and lightweight this hair dryer is. The nozzle is quite long requiring awkward holding to keep it from banging into ones head. I am getting used to it and doing better every time I use it. Probably in another month of use it will be second nature to hold it correctly. It is worth the effort because it is so quiet and light weight.

If you want women to use this, its too bulky. I have decent sized hands, but someone smaller would struggle. Also, cool button and on/off button are in opposing locations. I often accidentally shut off when I am trying to press the cool button.

The hairdryer is quiet and powerful and looks durable. The only drawback is the buttons are placed on the handle , causing it to be turned off /on

This hair dryer really is so much more quiet than other ones ive had in the past. It doesnt hurt my ears or my childrens ears. Although it doesnt seem to dry any faster than my old hair dryer - as the ad stated - i would still purchase it again just for less noise.
I like it
I use this in the morning while my husbands still sleeping. He couldnt stand my previous dryer. Its not as quiet and fast-drying as I had anticipated from the other reviewers- they mostly made it sound like the product was out of this world. It is quieter, but my husband still hears it, just not as sharply I guess. It also dries as fast as my previous $40 dryer, which was higher wattage. But overall this product is quieter than my former, which is what I needed.

I had a sharper image ionic hair dryer we bought about 12 years ago and always liked it so bought a new one. I actually like the older design better but my hair comes out so much better with this dryer so got another one. They are rather expensive but worth it.

I previously had a T3 and loved it, however when it finally burned up, my research led me to not purchase another one as the quality has apparently gone down(the model I had was no longer available). I found this by chance after looking all over the place and reading reviews. I wanted to find a QUIET, tourmaline dryer and thats what I got. This dryer is really easy on the ears. The weight seems average. Some reviewers wrote about a slight lack of power, but mine was shipped with a small ring-shaped attachment you can snap on the end to increase air flow/power and it works. With the attachment on, the noise level increases slightly because the air flow is channeled through a smaller hole. The noise increase is nothing to complain about. This dryer also gets really hot, like professional dryers. Im not sure it dries my hair as fast as my T3, but overall I am satisfied - I abhor noisy high-pitched hair dryers.

Just tested it out and it is significantly quieter than a normal hair dryer. It is not silent but most definitely quieter.

Quality hair dryer, a bit pricey, but works well. I bought it because my young children always complained about how loud the old hair dryer was when I dried their hair. Now they dont, so hair drying is a pleasant experience!

This is a really nice dryer. It dries my hair quickly and leaves it smooth and shiny. Ceramic is the key to not burning your hair when using a dryer daily. My hair stylist recommended I use one and most of the ceramic tourmaline dryers out there cost oodles of money and do the same thing. I would definitely recomend this dryer.
Great hairdryer
I use this every day. I love the fact that it is very quiet, not too hot but still dries my hair in record time. It is heavy and the control switches are right where you hold the dryer...which is awkward because i keep flipping them off by mistake. I will travel with it even though its heavy b/c i will definitly miss it when not at home!! Overall worth the purchase.

The low frequency noise level is a blessing. When my wife uses this product my hearing aids don;t go crazy anymore. I love it! She really likes the controls and options for air flow that help her style her hair.
Her only complaint is that it is a bit heavy for her. But - then she says it will help her build up her arm strength! Won - win.

Not So Quiet
Even though I was disappointed about the noise volume of this "quiet" hair dryer, I do like its durability and the controls are super easy to operate, especially when dealing with wet, slippery fingers. Not sure if it was worth the price I paid, though.

My old hair dryer had hard to use controls and was very noisy. I balked a bit at the price for this model, but finally gave in and got one day after the old one really made me crazy. I fully expected this hair dryer to do only a so-so job drying my hair, and I was completely wrong. It does just as good a job as my old one that had that high pitched screeching whine. Many years ago I bought The Conair Ultra Quiet 1875 from Sharper Image. It was so good I bought one for my sis. They both still work but I think it was time for an upgrade. The new one has new controls like the salons. I love it. You wont believe the difference in quietness until you buy this one.
Quietest Professional Hair Dryer
First one was bad - very noisy. Sharper Image sent me a new one immediately, and they paid the shipping both ways for the return. New one is quiet.
Medium Heat is best for drying hair without burning skin - very god for underarms!
It is light weight, but feels heavier due to it being very large and bulky.
