Great timed feeder I feed my cats using this timed feeder and it took a short time to train the cats to the new feed dish. The feeder did assist in controlling the feeding of my cats; they did not gorge themselves when eating at the new feeder. A Great Solution This was the perfect solution to feeding my outdoor cat. This product does not need timers set, nor is there food being left out to attract other cats or wild animals. I was very apprehensive about the size of the opening of the bowl, and the noise it would make upon opening. In both cases, these fears were unfounded. I was very pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of room for her to eat and it is very quite when opening. She took to the unit immediately! This unit is 2 pieces. The bottom part is the bowl and the top part houses the sensor mechanism controlling the lid. This is very convenient as you can use the bowl separately. The only negative about this being two pieces is that the unit does not lock in place together. So be careful to pick up the unit correctly so it does not separate. I have been using it every day for over 2 weeks and so far no problems. Its extremely easy to clean. The bottom portion can be put in the dishwasher. And although I havent done so, you could use cann Keeps food fresh longer I have 3 outdoor cats who eat regular wet meals. Because they are active, I keep dry food in this container so they can graze whenever theyre hungry. I can fill this up every 3 days. I would prefer an option for a shallower insert bowl. Its far too large and too deep for cats. Their saliva can get on the food so I do prefer to change it up more frequently, but whatever...
