Good product, small quirck.
product is great but has one flaw, the covers on the top and bottom of the filter element need to drain water easier as it is cleaned by washing in the dishwasher were water enters but does not easily leave. creating long dry times and arching of electricity if not fully dry. this ruined the first one i bought, and causes me to, on occasion, remove the covers myself and dry them by hand to make the unit more quickly useable. other than that, it does clean the air, remove odors, is inexpensive to operate and looks good, although a choice of colors would be nice. and an offering of the old GP hybrid model would have me buying again.

I have two of the air cleaners, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. Fans are a little noisey if they are on any level but low, if fans are on high, be prepared for the cleaning light to come on more sooner than later and when that light comes on, it makes a extremely loud snapping noise, kind of startles you at first. I cleaned them in my whirlpool bathtub with jets going, not sure if they are really clean as clean light came on within a day or two after cleaning. I really liked the previous Sharper Image Ionic Breezes the way they cleaned the wires, I didnt have to clean those machines for 2 weeks at a time, these new ones can be more often having to clean them or just turn on the on and off button once and the light goes out for another day or so if needed. Takes forever to dry once you have washed them too.

Clears the Air - Fast!
I live in an older apartment complex and the ventilation system is not great and you can always smell what your neighbor is cooking for dinner. My new neighbor is a chain smoker and the odor was drifting through the vents. I figured it would cost more to move than what I would spend on the Ionic Breeze and I am thrilled with the results. The entire 650 sq ft apt is cleaned in under 10 minutes! I highly recommend this product for anyone who suffers from second-hand smoke allergies. It is so quiet and the gentle humming sound along with the purified air help me get a great nights sleep. I only wish I had purchaed this years ago.

Rather disappointed
I was very pleased with my Ionic Breeze, which finally gave up the ghost after about six years. It was very effective and very easy to clean. So, I bought two Ionic Comforts and have been disappointed in that it is nearly impossible to clean and the main filter is way too fragile for an appliance so expensive. A big disappointment compared to my previous experience.

Iconic Air Purifier
I have mine in the bedroom because I was so stuffed up I couldnt sleep and now I do and it doesnt keep me awake, its so quiet. But it has to be 24 " from a wall and furniture on either side of it and so it sits in the middle of the room and I do not enjoy this feature. I wanted it to blend in to my bedroom and not be the fogel point. Would I get rid of it - not on your life !

Unfortunately I am a smoker. I also own a dog. I bought two units for downstairs, because smoking upstairs in the bedrooms is not allowed. Although the units can be a slightly noisy (comparable to a box fan) if set on the max setting, it really creates good air flow throughout the area of the house. Elimination of stagnant air is definately a plus. My down stairs is very open and has no specific rooms other than the kitchen. So pet dander and smoke cannot be contained in one room. I bought 2 units and placed them approximately 30 feet apart. I have already noticed a decrease in my allergies, and others have commented that the odor is decreaing. Cleaning is so simple. Just put the filter in the dishwasher. Thats is awesome for me.
poping sounds
They are very nice and work very good. They do make loud poping sounds once in awhile that will just make you junp. We are starting to use to the noice.

I run this air purifier all the time except when it is the array is drying. I love it that I can simply wash the arrays, keeping clean and activei is where it is at. I like the feeling of clean air so much I may need to get one for my classroom as well.

Built much better than any previous ionic breeze, I have owned all of them. The new product looks like it might even last ten or more years. I have serious allergy problems and the new ionic breeze is easy to use and easy to clean. I have two,one in living room and one in bedroom.
Its All They Say It Is
I love the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier. There have been a lot of forest fires accross the mountains from us. Now the smokey air has moved into our area. I have asthma and when I am outside I am uncomfortable. When we have visited others homes I also feel it. In our home the air is fresh and clean and I have no problems. Tonight we came home and found one of our dogs had urinated in his crate. It really smelled bad. We washed his blanket and wiped down the crate and turned the air purifier to ten. Within minutes the room smelled wonderful and fresh. This is a great product I would recommend it highly to anyone.
The Sharper Image ionic is Terrific!
I have lots of allergies. This is life saving! I began with the Sharper Image Quadra years ago.
My ionics are the original that I bought years ago So, tomorrow Im going to call Sharper Image to buy new ones. I usually have 3 or 4 on in the house. Because Im having a store within a couple of months, I want one for there, also.
The ionic really does eliminate viruses! Now, that I have a cat I need to insure that the airborn dander is under control. So, I turn to Shaprer image ionic.
To top this off, I just looked for the Sharper Image location, and it is right here in my home town!!!
Make this the Air Purifier for you
I bought this to replace my cheap air purifier that bit the dust. I love to read and have a huge bookshelf in my room. I also have allergies that dont go well with the books. My old air purifier took care of that and made everything great. Unfortunately, the price of the filters got to be outrageous. With the no filter air purifier from sharper image, the higher cost is easily overlooked when you dont have to buy another filter again. Ive taken the stainless steel filter out and let it soak in the tub to clean off. It says you can clean it in the dishwasher but I dont recommend that because there are very fine wires that could easily break. Soaking it takes care of that just as well, just add a little bit of soap. Overall, this product keeps my room smelling fresh and clean with no musty smell from the books.

Not only is this air purifier quiet - it really does the job of cleaning the air which I can see the dirt right on washable filter - glad I am not breathing all that in.

Bedroom
Too big and too heavy, but does good job
Many years ago I bought your top ionizer, which was much smaller. It seems that size is no longer made, as I checked multiple stores and none found. This size is too big but it does cover my 1300 foot condo effectively. Other smaller units are not necessary to augment this one. Biggest drawback: The filter is very heavy too lift out of the unit, especially when the person is short! Also, I have a standard size dishwaher, and it does not fit.

IVE NEVER UNDERSTOOD HOW THIS PRODUCT RECIEVED A BAD REVIEW FROM ANYONE. WE HAVE SHARPER IMAGE IONIC BREEZES IN EVERY MAIN ROOM OF OUR HOME. THEY DO AN AMAZING JOB OF CLEANING THE AIR. Sharper Image reinvented
The Sharper Image has taken all of the bugs out of the original air machine
that it was modeled on and has made it so much better. I purchased two of these machines and am well satisfied with them. So much so that I will be soon adding two more of them for other rooms. Have not been able to quit the smoking habit yet so it is vital that my home is welcoming to incoming guests. These air machines do just that. It also provides me with a smoke free home and that is very important to me. I run them 24/7 and the air always smells fresh and smoke free. I would definitely recommend purchasing them. They are well worth the price.
Best product I ever had for air control"
I just got these product cause I had one before and I love it, these new product is more powerful I smoke a lot and in minutes is not smell no more I love it!!! Thats why I got two of them!!!
Works very well but there are some issue
I purchased four of the large units. They work very well removing dust from the room and are very quiet ( I use them on setting 3). I was disappointed in two things regarding these units. First the Ozone filter is shown in the instructions as removable and the addnedum for the instructions states it is not removable. A step backward in maintenance. The instructions state you can use a vacuum dusting attachment to clean the filter, however the dusting attachments on both of my vacuums are at a 45 degree angle and wont work. I have to use a static dusting mop to clean the ozone filter. It would have been better if they had kept it removable so you could pull it out, vacuum it off, and put it back in. The Collector is large and does not fit an any of my sinks. The instructions caution on placing it in a dishwasher as it can be damaged. To me it seems they thought of the dishwasher thing and vacuuming the filter as an afterthought instead of testing it out. So I have to fill my bathtub up to wash out
By far the best overall product ever
Our family has tried everything to remove damaging particles, as we all have seasonal allergies. My mother especially. This machine allows her to go, for as long as it last, without the runny eyes and itchy eys. It is a fantastic machine. There is nothing bad about this machine, it saves her and us visits to the Doctor in dealing with our allergies.
LOVE this air purifier
We have 4 dogs in the house. Needless to say, my home was starting to smell like a kennel. Ive used other air purifiers but this one is the BEST!! Within minutes of plugging it in, my house smelled better and its super easy. There are no messy filters to buy and replace. The stainless steel filter goes right in the dishwasher and its ready to put back in the unit as soon as its dry. I love this so much I bought a second one for the upper level of my home and Im also going to buy one for my office.

I plug this unit in to clean the air and it dont take long. I would recommend this to anyone. I love the clean fresh smell.
I would think twice before buying
I operate this filter 24/7 and it does a good job filtering the air. The problem is it is very difficult to clean. It does not fit into a dishwasher as advertised, not without damaging the wires in the electrostatic filter. In order to clean it I have to use an air compressor to blow out what dust I can then spray it with detergent and rinse it out.
It is a tedious operation and one made more difficult by the close spacing of the wires and plates making up the filter. I would not have purchased this filter had I known how difficult it is to clean.
I would buy another Ionic Air Purifier
I enjoy clean air and knowing this machine will get smoke smell, dust, dander, viruses, germs etc. out of my home. I live in an area with some of the dirtiest air around. People constantly burn garbage, yard refuse, etc. This will come in very handy in spring and fall when neighbors burn this stuff instead of putting into garbage pickup.

exactly what I was looking for
I dont expect any plug in or portable air purifier to get everything, but I am the one who does all the dusting and suffers from allergies and its helped a LOT. I have a cat and dog as well, so this was a great investment. It is a little noisy when turned on hi, but I just turn it down when Im in the room and up when Im not home.

Have several (as in 7) older ionic breeze units in my home that are whisper quiet. I expected the approximate noise level in this unit after watching the on line video. Definitly not appropriate for bedrooms or restful areas unless you enjoy fan noice. Good air cleaning effect but returned items due to the obvious issue.

Quality product
I knew this was going to work great since before I purchased it, my mother has had some version of this for I believe now near a decade! It works great. I keep it set at about seven or eight higher than that and it gets loud, at seven or eight its a rather gentle hum and easily ignored unless your house or apartment is dead silent. We dont have a dish washer so its a bit less convenient to clean it, but Ive taken to filling the bath tub up a ways adding a bit of dish soap and use a soft bristle dust brush to agitate the filth off, which living so close to the Mexican boarder there is plenty of filth in the way of pure air pollution and dirt in the air! yes dirt not dust and top of that add to small dogs which track in even more. And this has performed wonderfully, cleans the whole apartments worth of air. and we have a fairly large apartment at about 1200 sq.ft. dust isnt an issue any longer and my girl friends allergies are almost completely vanished!
Easy to Set Up
Just set up the air filter - easy to do. like the easy and variable controls. And the air coming out is cooling. Will probably feel great in the summer. Looking forward to cleaner air in my apt.
Best buy that I have made
I have been having severe allergy problems. I have been off work because of the severity of my allergies. I LOVE the fact that I can just take the air filter out and put it in the washer. It keeps me from being exposed to the excess dirt when cleaning the filter. I run them 24 hrs a day. I bought 2 and do notice the difference in the rooms that doesnt have a air purifier. Just purchased the 2 purifiers 3 weeks ago and love it. I wish work would buy a few and put it in their offices. I have recommended this to my co-worker.
This time, bought for our second home
We have had two ionic air purifiers in our home for several years and decided to buy two for our second home because of the improved air quality. We have experienced a definite reduction in head congestion/allergy discomforts. Filters are very easy to clean.
Great product - This is our second one
I have one that I use in my bedroom and am now getting a second one for the den! You really can see the pollen and dust that was cleared from the room when the filter is cleaned. There are similar other itmes on the market, and this one seems to be the best.

Does a great job
The Ionic Comfort Air Purifier does a great job of keeping the air in our house fresh - even with a smoker in residence! It runs very quietly and is easy to set up and use. The only problem with it is that the filter is hard to clean since its too large to fit in our dishwasher. Other than that, were very happy with the purchase.

Adequate
I found that I had to push the power button many times to turn on and off the air purifier. I have to clean the filter often or else it will make a noise like a bug zapper. On full power, its not that quiet. It emits a strange odor. The "ozone" filter is supposed to help, but it doesnt do enough. With all that said, I have noticed a considerable notice in the reduction of dust in the house. This household has two cats and one dog, so there is always a lot of dust.
Dandy Device
I had to maintenance the filter for the first time today and I am impressed. I simply pull it out from under the lid and rinsed it off in the shower. I was slightly burdened with its weight because I held it up to the stream of water so that the crevices would be cleansed since I dont have a dishwasher that the labeling says would be just fine as well. Make sure all the droplets are gone before putting it back in the unit or else it wont respond. Even after I put in a slightly damp filter, that I eventually removed, the base unit still functioned once a dry filter was placed into it afterward. Now its back to collecting the air debris so I can be virtually worry-free.
Ionic Breeze
about 10 years ago, our family purchase the Ionic Breeze (3) units, due to Allergies.
Before purchasing these, we were down to one unit working.
It makes a difference in the air quality in the home, and helps with allergies.
One day I looked in a room that had a lot of sun coming in the door, there was a lot of particals in the are. Bought two new Ionic units. Perfect for the house. Clean smell no particals in the air. I am a fan. Worth every penny.

I purchased this air purifier because my 3 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with asthma after a week long stay in the PICU. I believe that the ionic breeze improves the quality of air in our home, thus improving her respiratory function.

This one needs cleaning weekly. The older Ionic Breeze needed cleaning every 60-90 days.
La La La
This product is used in a basement utility room. I cant really tell if its working because the clean filter light is always on. The filter is not dirty as the product is brand new. Turning it off and then back on again resets the light, but the next day the light is back on. I expected more for the money I spent on this.

I purchased 2 of theses clean air machines. My husband and I both smoke and we have a dog and It is very important to me that my home does not smell like either one. I run them constantly and it is so nice to smell the fresh clean air. I would like to buy 6 more for each room and for my second home.

Bought two; one for basement and one for main floor. Removed musty odor from the basement very quickly. Runs quietly. Pamplet shows the ozone filter being removed to wash. We have been unable to remove it. The Main filter removes easily to wash in the dishwasher.

This is my second purchase of Ionic air purifiers. I bought two of them in 2002 and they lasted until June of 2012. Hope this one lasts that long. Love the purifier.

I smoke and cook. The previous version without the fan I have used for years. Picky non-smoking people come to the house and believe I have quit smoking and not cooked in ages. I think the fan is a little loud on this one - I like the silent running version better but it does the job. My house is odorless.
Cleans the air but not easy to clean.
We have 2 and they work well but are not easy to clean. Had to buy bin that fit the filter. Directions in manual differ from those received by customer service. Get it together.
This helps with alergy problems
The filter is large so it is hard to find a container large enough to cleen the filter in. The manual says to put it in a dish washer. it is to large to fit in a dish washer.

I am glad I found this.
It is very efficient at taking dust and dander out of the air. Also very easy to clean. When on high it makes some fan noise but it is well worth it.
ionic Comfort works well for smoke
This product has a fan which can be turned from low to high. I like how the low settings do not cool a room down too much. We use it in the winter to help get rid of the smoke smell produced from our wood burning stove, and it would be silly to cool down the house.
The biggest downside is that it is supposed to be located 2 feet from any wall or furniture which kind of puts it out in the room more than Id like.

Great Product hate exchanging
I love the product. The first month I never slept better in my bedroom, as we sleep with our dogs; and my nose is always stuffed up. The iconic breeze took care of all that. LOVE IT!! After a month we did clean the filter in dish washer. Used the drying cycle however, I still needed to put a blow dryer to it to make sure it was completely dry. Dont know how to clean ozone filer or even take it out to clean it. Now it seams to not work as well as it did when we first got it. How do you change the ozone filter sharperimage? Help.
My husband and I bought 2 ionic comforts on November 24. One came in damaged so we are still waiting for replacement and we are now into January. Customer service could be much better. I had to send back the unit (their expense) then wait for the credit on my charge card which happened finally on December 18 now I have to call them to order again for the one that broke. This is all Crazyness at the least. Product is worth the hassle. Please Sharperimage do something about
Ionic Comfort Air Purifiers
Had one of the older Air Purifiers that finally bit the dust, so to speak, and got such good service from it just decided to keep the same brand. The one I had was no longer available. These are just as good as the old ones were.
I KNEW it would be great!
With forced air heat, dust is a nightmare. This thing collects so much that the furniture doesnt look like it needs dusting for 2 weeks instead of every other day! I knew it would be great because my daughter has had one for years in the room with her 3 birds and it collects tons of the bird dander. I wasnt going to risk spending money on another brand that might or might not work well. If youre looking for cleaner air, this is the one.

Ionic Breeze
i bought the ionic breeze because my daughter been having these cough spells. Thinking this might work because i assess her problem to be an allergic reaction. anyways, the product looks cheaply made. too expensive for a fan. should have different colors. had to clean the filter way too often. created an ozone smell to the house.
the first step to so much better health
i purchased an original ionizer air cleaner almost 20 years ago. i have been in love ever since, with its quiet and excellent efficency. i was actually hoping to find the one like i have, but i find this on is just as good, only cleaning it cannot be done by hand. when all is said and done, i would still order it again, as its performance outweighs anything negative.
Does better job than expected.
I tried a couple bargain brands with the same ionic technology concept, but the sharper image brand definately has a bigger impact on air quality.

This air purifier is very effective at eliminating odor from cigarette smoke. Id actually like an additional one for another room in my house.
The only reason I didnt rate this with 5 stars is the need to clean the filter more often than I thought. However, its not that large of an inconvenience since my dishwasher can handle the size of the filter.

I am a long time allergy sufferer. I purchased one about 15 years ago and used it regulary. When my grandsons seasonal allergies became a problem, I loaned my air cleaner to my daughter. To make a long story short, it helped him so I didnt want to take it back. I went on line to order the same one, but after that long of time, they didnt have the old model any longer, so I ordered this one. I was a little disappointed because it is larger than the old one I had, but it works great! I think it cuts down on the amount of medicine I have to take to control the allergies. I run it 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I havent had to clean it yet, but the old one was a breeze to clean...I am considering ordering one for my other daughter now.
Ionic Air purifier helpful
We use this product every day, almost all day long. The purifier cleans the room very quickly and has a fan speed that can change from low to high. The low is whisper silent while the high sounds like a fan and blows like a fan (this will be nice during the summer).
product too heavy to easily move around
This product is 10# heavier than the 6 older Sharper Image GP germacidal protection air filters I have. Too heavy to easily move. I had to return them for that reason. I use my older ones constantly in 2 different homes and they are great. Wish the new ones were lighter. The concept of being able to put the filters on this one in the dishwasher is great.
Frustrating Product
I bought this product for use in my bedroom and actually it does exactly what it says it will--it pulls dust, dirt and other allergens out of the air. The problem is that it works too well for its own good.
The light on the unit which indicates that it requires cleaning comes on at least twice a week. This wouldnt be a problem if the unit was as easy to clean as the manufacturer claims. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to get filter into my dishwasher without ruining it. It is simply too big an bulky to fit without placing it on a diagonal across the bottom drawer, but because my dishwasher has a center water tower this is impossible.
The manual claims that you can wash the filter by hand by soaking it in soapy water for 15 minutes. That would be fantastic if I had a sink large enough to accommodate the enormous filter.
Now at this point you might be thinking, "Cant it just wipe it down with a damp cloth like you could with the ionic breeze?" The answer is no. Unlike the ionic breeze,

They advertise this as silent - silent it aint! It makes a buzzing/wizzing sound even on the lowest setting, so it cant go in the bedroom. On the highest setting its as loud as any stand alone fan. And lastly, its so heavy - It must weigh about 10 lbs!

I was very leary about spending so much money on an air purifier. I researched a lot of models and since this one doesnt need filters to be purchased for replacement I figured that it would ease the pain of the price. So far so good, I definitely can tell it removes odors and "floaters" (the stuff you see when light comes in the window). And when I bring it in my bedroom at night, in the morning I find I am not as stuffy in my sinuses as I was when I didnt have it or left it in the other room. The only bummer is when you wash it in the dishwasher it takes a long time to dry. But if you wash it in the morning and leave it all day it should be ready when you get home from work. Otherwise I am satisfied.

We have had Ionic Breeze products in our home for over 10 years. The oldest products we had in our home decided to retire. The purchase of these 2 new Ionic Products was a must. Other than being a bit noisier than the older ones we are very happy with the way they are working in our home.

Cleaning filter
The unit sparks when it needs to be cleaned. This occured after 3 days of use. Cleaning the filter was difficult because of the wires between the surfaces to be cleaned. The next time I used the dishwasher as suggested and I used the heated dry cycle. It still took 2 days for it to dry compleatly. My old Ionic Breeze was a lot easier to maintain.

Effective Air Purifier - A mess to clean
This product is very powerful and effective. You can feel the difference in the air you breathe and the cleanliness of the environment in the room. If you are an avid cook like myself and your tiny kitchen is open to your living room, this air purifier will suck the smell of cooking like a professional range hood.
Now for cleaning the filter, Ill give it a D. First, I dont like cleaning it in my dishwasher. Im not comfortable washing my dishes after the germs have been washed from this filer. Even if I was OK with it, the filter doesnt fit in my dishwasher rack without cutting some of its strings. So, I end up washing it by hand which is very tedious and messy and you cant get it clean enough even after your fingers are full of cuts and scraps. Sinking it in a tub or bucket doesnt take care of cleaning it completely either. Also, you have to wait for couple of days for the filter to completely dry. I dont dust as often as I should, and we have 4 cats. After we got the 2 new cats my husband started having almost constant sneezing attacks the minute he walked in the house. Even ramping up my dusting schedule didnt help, so I ordered two Ionic Comfort Air Purifiers - one for downstairs and one for Hubbys den. We had had Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers for years and hadnt replaced them when they finally died. But since weve gotten the Ionic Comfort purifiers his sneezing has almost stopped completely. The house smells better and theres less dust. Plus they are so easy to clean - the main component goes into the dishwasher! And they come with ozone filters so its out of the box, plug in and let them do their think.
Clean but noiser than previous models
I bought two and currently own a much older model. I have allergies so I want my air as clean as possible. It definitely keeps the air clean. Having used an older model, though, I became used to the ionic "smell" they tout as less than pleasant, but I liked it because I knew my air was clean when I smelled it. I miss it. The other drawback of this model vs. prior models is the noise. The older models make practically no noise at all, this one is extremely loud. Im not sure I could use this one in a bedroom and leave it on without turning the cleaning capability to a low setting. Although I would recommend this product because of its excellent air cleaning capability, it would be with the above caveats.
Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
This purifier works great. The only problem is the filter grid has to be cleaned quite often. This requires throwing it in the dishwasher and then waiting for a number of hours for it to dry before you can put it back into the unit. During that wait, my purifier is just sitting there not being used. If you have allergies like myself, you can tell it just sitting there too. BUT, while its running, I can breath easily and have no allergies popping up bc of low quality air. Great purchase, just need to look into buying a spare filter grid so I can switch them for cleaning and the unit continues to run. It does get noisy at higher speeds, but I use that as a sleep aid anyway.
Helps with Allergies
I first got introduced to this air purifier by my ex- husband. I have indoor and outdoor allergies. No pets but when spring came in and I didnt have the air purifier I noticed a difference. I had a cold, sneezing and congestion for a month. I had to order the ionic breeze to see if that was the difference. I have it in my bedroom and at this time I am cold free.

My mother-in-law, Miss Leona has interstitial lung disease for which there is no cure. I had used another brand of air purifier in the past, but I wanted to get her a couple of Ionic Breeze machines to filter her house and hopefully avoid her getting any secondary lung infections. I am sorry to tell you i dont like the ionic comfort as well as the sharper image quadra that i had for 8 years previously. The new comfort model is bigger and heavier and not as attractive as the quadra. I live in a small apt so i dont have much room for appliances. As far as preformance goes i think it is doing a good job, the air smells much fresher, but i have not had it long enough to know how often it may require cleaning and ect. Ask me after i have had it a few months.
Does the job, but has drawbacks
We own two Ionic Breeze Quadra air purifiers which are over 12 years old and were reconditioned when we bought them. They are silent, and lightwieght and easy to clean but are no longer made. This product cleans the air as well as those, but is very heavy and bulky, and is far from silent. Fan levels run from 1 through 10, plus maximum. It is only silent at 3 and below. At 7 and above it is very loud. Also, although it does fit in the dishwasher to clean, we have to put it in pur standard size dishwasher in precisely the right spot and remove the silverware section. This product cleans the air well, but has drawbacks which the former models did not.
This is I want another one.

Air Perfection!
Within an hour of plugging the Purifier in the "pet" smells in my living room disappeared. So much better than using air fresheners or other sprays to coverup odors. I bought 2 more the next day! Now I have 3 in the house. My only disappointment is that it doesnt come in more color choices. White looks great in my kitchen, but stands out too much in my living room.

AWESOME! I love it. My son has allergies to dogs and dust mites. We have 2 dogs that we have had for 11 years and just found out he was allergic to them. So before getting rid of them we decided to get an air purifier for his room to see if it would help so we wouldnt have to get rid of the them. It has helped him so much that we get to keep the dogs. My daughter was born with sinus challenges, and has struggled with breathing through her nose since she was born. This year became very tough for her. We live in Montana - in the Bitterroot Valley. We spent 3 months in a smokey valley this year. The air quality hovered between hazardous and very unhealthy. I kept my two year old daughter inside to try to keep her safe. The smoke was so thick it would fill up our dryer through the vent hole and seep in to the house, and she got very sick with both ear and sinus infections at the same time. One of our top purchases of all time
We bought two Ionic Comforts; one for the livingroom and one for our bedroom. We have both wood and carpeted floors. Before, when the sun would shine through the windows, unbelievable amount of particles could be seen suspended in the air. We seem to constantly have sinus headaches and congestion. The first day after turning on the Ionic Comforts, no particles can be seen floating in the air anymore. Our headaches have subsided and we feel much better. I had to clean the units after 7 days of 24 hour per day use. Our only complaint is that on the top setting of 10, the unit fans are quite noisy. We have found that we can live with a setting of 7 and still clean the air.
Best air purifier ever!
I bought two (2). One pulls air from my greatroom (35 X 17). One pulls air from master bedroom. I was replacing my A/C filter twice a month. Since I received these air purifiers, I cant find any dust on the filter yet (almost a month).

A MUST have
Before I purchased the Ionic Breeze I had other air filters. One was obnoxiously loud and required me purchasing 2 different filters on a regular basis. It had to be taken apart just to change the filter. Because I have allergies to dust and have 4 litter boxes I needed a quality air filter that I could keep on 24/7 so I decided to pay a little more and invest in 2 Ionic Breeze air filters from Sharper Image. IONIC AIR PURIFIERS
I ordered 2 Ionic Air Purifiers. One had to be returned due to "Hissing" sounds. Needless to say, it was very inconvenient for me to repack a 22 Lb. item and drop it off for return by Federal Express. So far, I havent been informed that it was received and whether or not a Replacement or Refund will be issued. For that reason, Im disappointed.
Didnt get what I paid for
You pay almost $400 and you expect to get what you paid for, not for this unit though. While it purifies the air, I ended up using it only once. First, it gets dirty pretty quickly. Cleaning is a mess and doesnt get rid of all the dirt because of the wires in this design. After cleaning it and drying it, it makes an annoying hissing and crackling sound. They tell you to wait for it to dry. After 5 days of air drying, it still does this sound. Finally, after it started working again, a burning smell came out of the unit and the filter turned out to be melting. So, [$] for only one use, is completely ridiculous.

Enjoying cleaner air
I am truly delighted with this product. I was sceptical at first but with down drafts from my chimney causing my living room to smell like a hunting lodge I was desperate. I plugged the unit in near the fireplace and within minutes the room smelled like a spring day! I purchased another ion devise from another company to compare the two but there was no comparison and the Sharper Image was clearly superior. I use it in my home office as well and there is a definite noticable difference in the quality of the air when you enter the room. It feels fresh and energized.

Bought 2 of them
The boxes arrived in perfect condition and the air purifiers were well-packaged. We purchased 2 of these units for use at our dusty 2nd home, which is located in the Arizona desert off a dirt road. I unpacked them and easily set them up in the master bedroom and the study. I left them running on a medium high rate for a week and noticed a decrease in the amount of dust when I cleaned, so they seem to be doing what I intended them to do.
My only complaint is that they are a little noisy on speeds over 4 or 5 (and the speed goes up to 10). It is so quiet in our house that I needed to turn the bedroom one down to 2 at night in order to sleep. (but I need complete quiet and complete darkness to have a good nights sleep, so this probably wouldnt be an issue for most people). The sound of the one in the study didnt seem to bother my husband.
I havent cleaned the "filter grid" yet, so I cant comment on the ease of doing that.

Bought the first one for myself for usage in the Living room where I spend much of my time. Recently purchased 2 more as my Wife came down with COPD. One for the Family room where she spends her time and the compact unit for our bedroom. It is Quiet, easy to operate and clean the filter, attractive looking. The price may seem a little high to some but anything I have ever purchased from Sharper Image has lived up to the advertisement. I rated this 4 stars as I find it very hard to call anything Perfect, although this seems close.

Bought these to replace my old Ionic Breeze which I loved but couldnt use any more because they had become too noisy. Slightly noisier than the old model because of the fan running all the time but not bothersome. Seems to clean the air just as well or better. Only complaint is the cost. Yes, its in line with other top of the line air cleaners but purchasing 3 for the house still hurts! Maybe they should have a volume discount. Would absolutely recommend these to anyone with allergies. Saves me from having to take antihistamine at all!

I smoke, and I have for 15 years two Air Purifiers that worked great, but was time to replace it. I first purchased one. I liked it and several months latter I purchased 2 more. My friends are smokers and they like the way my house dont smell on cigarettes. It save me money in a long run, because I dont have to repaint my house every so often, and I dont have to buy expensive filters. For me is an excellent investment and it works great.
Great ionic air purifier
My dad is a smoker and I needed an air purifier that would get rid of the smell in the house. I have had no luck with other ionic air purifiers, as the smoke smell was still strong in the house, so I decided to give this product a try. The power is very strong and does an excellent job keeping the smoking smell to a minimum. Although a bit pricey, I would recommend this product!

The air "filter" assembly is supposed to be washable in the dishwasher. This is difficult to do given the size and construction. Ive tried rinsing and soaking in soapy hot water, but without the extra zip of the dishwasher, it does not come very clean.

Love the Ionic Comfort
We use our new Ionic Comfort filters in the bedrooms and only at night. We like the fan because it circulates the air better than the Ionic Breeze did, which did not have a fan, and seem to keep the room cooler. On high, the fan noise is no problem and may even be relaxing. The units have long cards so we like to pull them out into the room at night. My only complaint is this is not easy to do. A suitcase type handle would have been great to have and possible rollers or slides.
Disapppointed in Filters
I bought two of this product as I am an allergy sufferer. I had owned 2 ionic pro turbos and have liked them a lot. However, had I known how heavy these new units are, I would not have gotten them The filter gets dirty so fast and makes a terrible sparking noise, Then the filter is so heavy to get out to clean and it takes forever to dry. I would not leave it on if I went out shopping as it seems dangerous.

I own two units and am very happy with this product. The unit cleans the air, removes smells and is easy to clean. The fan is quiet but you can feel the exchange of air so you know it is working. Blades are easy to clean and NO extra filters to buy.
Not my first rodeo
We purchased four units. Originally, we purchased two units at the store in San Antonio, TX - 10 years ago. They ran for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One of those finally died. Looking on line for a replacement we discovered Sharper Image was still available. Buying from them again was a no brainer.
I cannot yet comment of durability as weve only had these units a bit over a month.
Cleaning seems more efficient for these newer models but they make a tad more noise than the older models. The older models did not have a fan and made no noise at all. With the fans, the units move more air and move that amount of air quicker.
These units do exactly what they are supposed to do.
If you have allergies or asthma, I strongly recommend these units. My wifes asthma has improved significantly and her need for inhalers has dropped to almost zero in the house. My need for allergy medications has significantly decreased as well.

Love it
We have 2 dogs (lab and German Shep) and a baby on the way. I wanted the air quality to be cleaner and fresher. It does just that! I do notice that it takes a whole day for the filter to dry. It will let you know if its not dry enough when you turn it on (it makes a cracking sound). I wish we had a second filter. We really need a send one for the house but for now we just move around from time to time.
Keeping allergy symtoms at bay
We purchased this due to our cat having allergy symptoms. The Ionic Comfort was a good choice because this air purifier captures/filters numerous allergens and is quiet enough so as not to startle the cats. A side benefit to purifying the air is the nice, clean smell without using deodorizers.

New air filters
This new air filter replaced an old Sharper Image unit we bought over ten years ago. The design has been improved for easier filter cleaning and more variable settings for air speed. The only issue is that this unit makes more noise than the previous one so we have set the air speed lower to reduce the noise.

Ionic Comfort- we received our new tower 2 weeks ago. Immediately our living, dining, kitchen areas of our home are cleaner. Smells better- fresh. Two filters, I have already washed the main filter once in our dishwasher. This product is very easy to use / maintain. The ozone filter is a little trickier to remove. Just take a minute when you receive it and use a flashlight to see inside the unit from the back how the ozone filter clips in at the top. I used a pocket knife to pop the clip and remove the filter. Once you do it, you will always know how. White was a concern, but it blends in really well with our décor. We will be ordering more for other parts of our house.

Ionic Comfort really works
I replaced an old broken Ionic Breeze with another brand that sterilized the air. It didnt work for smells or really clean the air very well. When I saw this unit I replaced the sterilizing unit even though it was not broken. The Ionic Comfort works so well that I noticed the difference in air quality within 2 days. The air was cleaner and my allergies were greatly improved.

I now am the the proud owner of 3 generations of sharper image air cleaners. Each generation better than its predecessor. The older models are now in bedrooms and the office. yes, they still work, years later. Sooo much better than the competition!

I own 6 sharperimage air cleaners
I have bought 6 Sharperimage air cleaners in the past 4 years. I have 4 of them in my home and have recently bought 2 of the newer ones for my daughters home. My daughter and her husband smoke in their home and it was getting harder for me to breath when I would visit, so I took it upon my self to buy the lastest ones to help this condition. I can say it was a blessing, the air was much cleaner I could breath easier and my clothes smelled cleaner when I returned to my home after a two weeks visit. I recommend that anyone that smokes in their homes invest the money in this product.

We have two litter boxes and I use to have an ionic breeze in the room so you could not tell we even had a cat in the house. I wore out the first one after sevel years and when I saw sharper image had it again I promtly bought one. They are also graet to have in the house if you have allergies or asthma.
Not worth the money.
For the money I paid for this product, there are many better options out there. Does not "purify" the air, it collects dust, and not very well. I cant run it for more than 2 hours without the dirty filter light coming on. It does not eliminate bad smells. Its just a weak fan. Incredibly disappointed in this product.
LOVE IT
I now own two of these units. I know they cost more than others, but worth it. I have purchased others and wasted my money. These are very good and clean the air with little noise. I have one in the bedroom and the living room. I have allergies and with these two units, I am feeling great. Do not hesitate to get one, you will be happy. If it makes a crackle sound on you, check the bottom three connect areas for hair or any collection of paritals and make sure they are clean, I use a Q- tip and the noise ends.

Im Buying Another One!!
This filter does what it claims. there is a distinct difference in air quality from the room where it is to other rooms in the house (thus an additional filter). On lower speeds you would not know its there, on high its just enough white noise to cover my occasional snoring. The filter element is a little bulky and the first time I put it in the dishwasher it was a bit slippery upon taking it out. I wound up with a nasty cut on my finger requiring several stitches, and the filter was missing one of the fine ionization wires (all of this is well covered by warnings in the manual). That said, when I called Filter Stream (the manufacturer) to see about a replacement wire (I thought I could replace it myself) they said I could not but that they were shipping a new filter at no cost to me (keep in mind that I dropped it, I broke it). That kind of service is worth its weight in gold in these times.

Great product that does the job as advertised. Cord should wrap around under unit. Still cant figure out how to remove the ozone filter. Instruction in manual doesnt help.

really freshens the air
This really works great. My wife typically goes to sleep a couple of hours before I do, so when I finally go to bed, theres a staleness in the air (sorry, honey). Since we got this, we run it at the lowest setting and it keeps the air in the bedroom fresh.
Allergy Terminator
I suffer from allergies. This product greatly reduces doctor visits for upper respiratory infections. It also improves sleep by helping keep your airways clear allowing you to breath correctly. If you suffer from alergies and happen to purchase one of these units... i promise you will be a return customer. You cant put a price on good sleep and good health.
Works great in a "doggy" house
Weve always had a couple of dogs in our home, and even though we groom and brush them frequently, we have friends and relatives with allergies so have researched products to eliminate odors and allergens. The Ionic products have greatly helped. We use several throughout our home and clean the filters regularly.
ion wires break easily
The machine works extremely well, but the filter requires cleaning every few days. While following the manufactures recondmended method of cleaning by using the dishwasher, one of the ion wires snaped. The machine still works, just not as well. I figured im only a few weeks into my purchase and there must be some sort of replacement filter i could purchase or have mine swapped or fixed, but unfortunately it appears in the warranty area of the sharper image website they will/cannot replace any broken part.... so there is no warrenty, just smoke and mirrors. Good machine, you just have to spend another few hundrded dollars to replace them....ive already purchased 3 and planned on buying 2 more, but not at this point.

I love this unit! It is super simple to use (and clean) and keeps my air smelling great around the clock. Finally - no filters to buy and find. It is built like a tank and simply keeps running and running. I bought Ionic Pro and Honeywell units before and while they were cheaper, they broke down. My advise is to spend a little more and get this one.

Its All They Say It Is
I love the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier. There have been a lot of forest fires accross the mountains from us. Now the smokey air has moved into our area. I have asthma and when I am outside I am uncomfortable. When we have visited others homes I also feel it. In our home the air is fresh and clean and I have no problems. Tonight we came home and found one of our dogs had urinated in his crate. It really smelled bad. We washed his blanket and wiped down the crate and turned the air purifier to ten. Within minutes the room smelled wonderful and fresh. This is a great product I would recommend it highly to anyone.
Breathing easier after move-in
When I moved into my small apartment, I was knocked over by a nasty deodorizer smell that had been applied by the maintenance crew right before I arrived in an attempt to cover up a funky smell in the carpet. I am chemically sensitive and work at home, so I needed to find something that would work quickly and effectively. I use it in the bedroom/office. Even though the unit gave off its own smell for the first couple of weeks (I couldnt place what the smell was and couldnt tell if it was toxic), whatever it was didnt seem to cause me problems because within the first day I was breathing easier, which is most noticeable at night because I stopped coughing. The unit seems very well made and sturdy. I like the variable fan speeds. Even though my apartment is 691 square feet, this unit is all I need. I havent needed to clean the unit yet, but I am glad that I can clean it myself rather than buy filters. I would give it 5 stars but instead am giving it 4 stars (4.5 is more like it) because it doesnt make sen

filter hard to clean
The Ionic Breeze air purifier takes the "doggie" odor out of our bedroom. It works quickly and quietly.
I had the older model prior to this order, so I can do a little comparison. The current model is much larger, which is a con for me.
The filter needs to be cleaned much more frequently. Which is an ordeal. the directions tell you to put it in the dishwasher - ARE YOU KIDDING!! I would never run my dishwasher with just the filter in it. So I clean it by hand. It is tedious to clean. If you clean it under running water, it takes forever to dry. The older model filter was much easier to clean. I purchased this product because it has a reusable filter. I didnt want to hassle with ordering filters & creating more trash. I wish my older model still worked!!!!

The Ionic breeze Air Purifier the best!
I think the Ionic Breeze is the best machine ever I had one the orick and its not even a year old and its broken. I seen Ionic Breeze and I told my husband that I was going to order two. he said rite away no problem. We purchased an Ionic Breeze years ago. I should of known better. I just ordered another two more machines, and some other stuff. I will never go to anyone else except Ionic Breeze and I will tell all my friends I told my friend and she said she wasnts something like. She never even saw the unit.
I would but this product again and again
Have mulitple pets and this is a great product. I should have known that it was so easy to clean and worked better than all others. I purchased 2 other cheeper brands that didnt work as well and then ultimately purchased this one. The other brands are going to go as "gifts", and Ill keep this one!

Great product
I have been struggling with allergies for the first time in my life. I was so congested the night I received the Ionic Comfort and I almost got to get a Claritin tablet but thought I would put the Ionic comfort to the test. Within 10 minutes one nostril was already clear and my headache was gone. This product is truly awesome. It is super quiet and I have not taken an allergy pill since getting it. This product works and is worth every penny!

But You also have to the clean the thin wires with a bristle brush like a soft toothbrush. Inbetween I just clean the thin wires every two ro three days along with the metal plate/bars. This procedures keep the unit working fine. I am getting ready to order another one.

Done with drying
I have allergies and need clean air. To have to air dry these because my landlord does not have a dishwasher is ridiculous. You use to be able to hand dry the old filters. Youve made it more difficult.

I have pets, a cat and 2 dogs. It filters minute particles as well as airborne dust and allergins. It is easy to clean the filter by placing it in the dishwasher. Great product!

EATS DUST
I have owned three of the previous version, or Ionic Breezes, and they made my dust allergy seem non-existent. There were claims of ozone problems but I never felt any discomfort in over 10 years of use. This model looks a lot better and isnt as flimsy as the original, and it packs a dust eating wallop! It is not silent as the original and I can only use it on full force when I leave my small apartment.

I suffer with indoor allergies to most types of dust and danders found in the home. I purchased my first ionic breeze over 8 or 9 years ago and I used that unit everyday until it no longer worked. I recently purchased two ionic breeze units. I placed one in the downstairs on my home and the other unit upstairs in my bedroom. I love the new units and use them daily. The units have tremendously reduced the dust that was visible on surfaces and floating in the air. I would recommend this unit to everyone, especially if you have respiratory problems.
Great Purifier
I bought 4 of these. They work great! The filters clean great in the dishwasher. My landlady is a heavy smoker so I have a purifier in every room. I have a english springer spaniel and have noticed these work great with the pet dander and I have noticed a lot less dust. These are a great buy because the air we breathe in our homes is very polluted.
Does not remove large air contaminants
I bought 2 of these on the recommendation of a heavy smoker. It did make the air smell nicer and there was black stuff on the filter but it does not remove dust, pet hair, pollen, or any visible air borne particles the way other air purifiers do. It is not a replacement for a HEPA filter or an air conditioner. I used them for over three years then finally bought a traditional air filter. It is true regular air filters are louder and bulkier than this, but they are better. I am really not sure why they are so popular.

I would buy this product again
I have two of the large version - one for our upstairs loft (family room) and one for our downstairs living room. We have an open floor plan and our large version takes care of the entire downstairs. Our grandson has severe allergies and this has helped significantly. He no longer has red, puffy eyes. We have carpeting and wool rugs and 3 cats - allergy heaven. These air purifiers are quiet and efficient. I would use silent ones in the bedrooms. Whisper quiet and silent are not the same thing. Quiet means you can still hear the fans running, but you can adjust the fan speed to your comfort level. The control slides to infinite degrees of operation. I keep mine on 4. They are not bothersome and still clean the air.
A noticeable smell?
I have enjoyed using my new ionic comfort. Yet I still wonder is there is a way to neutralize the ionic oder that builds up. I get used to the smell after a few minutes but still it is noticeable when I walk into the room after an extended period absent.
