leaks EVERYWHERE
When I filled it up and placed the container onto the base, it started to fill the base and then proceeded to rapidly leak tons of water all over my floor. Seems like plastic against plastic is not a good seal for water.. I tried 2 more times to get a good seal and each time it continued to leak all over. Even while I was just filling the water container it was leaking out of where the handle connects to the container. TERRIBLE product. Maybe I just got a bad one but Im not willing to try again. I recommend testing yours in the bathroom and have towels ready!
Stickers! Why?
Just pulled by new ultrasonic humidifier out of the box. It has a big sticker on the front. I go to pull it off. It doesnt come easily. I frankly havent even used this product yet, but just the fact that the sharper image would put a sticker on it thats going to leave cheap, ugly gummy marks all over my brand new thing made me irate enough to go directly to the computer and vent..
Ultrasonic Cool Mist
Neat, nice looking humidifier but... 1) Using it around the clock for adequate room humidification means having to refill the reservoir twice daily. 2) The reservoir is too large to hold under the sink faucet so it must be refilled in the tub. The rounded shape of the top means it doesnt balance on its own while youre filling it through the opening at the bottom, so the refilling process is awkward. 3) Most significantly, although absolutely silent initially, within a few weeks it developed an intermittent hum/buzz.
dreaded white dust
This is a sweet, cute, quiet unit, but turns into a monster when you use it, depositing white dust all over furniture and tv screen in the room you use it in. I used the demin cartridge, a fresh one that I had soaked, but the white residue, which I have learned is calcium from the water, persists. I am now trying distilled water in the unit, but that is costly and annoying.
Simply the Best!
The Sharper Image cool mist humidifier is all it was meant to be: extremely simple to use, yet very efficient. My grandchildren love the added feature of a built-in night light. I would recommend this product to anyone at any time because it really delivers!
Disappointed
The humidifier worked for about a month then began making strange noises. I cleaned it according to the instructions but that did not help; it used to be quiet but now just a month after purchase it is so loud that we choose not to use it.
Too Noisy
1st one quiet for about 10 minutes, then a horrible hum. Took it back, got 2nd one. Noise was all over the board..quiet to very loud and all in between. Very annoying. Took that back,got 3rd unit. By far the noisiest of the bunch. Have to shut off to watch TV it is that loud. Do not buy, unless you like irritating humming noise. Humidity part does work great. Just loud and annoying.
Very Disappointed
I am very disappointed in this product. It is very awkward to fill (especially in a bathroom sink). Also, when you lift it from its base (to fill), it drips water that has seeped into the base. It is very messy. The only good thing is that it is quiet.
gets continually noisier
This humidifier was very quiet at first but got continually noisier. Now, after only four or five months of use, is so noisy we moved it to a back room. I hope the manufacturer honors the warranty.
Extremely Satisfied Customer
This humidifier does a great job at dispensing cool mist. It has a very powerful fan that allows cool mist to reach you in any part of the room and you even though you feel the mist it does not drench you with water.. This product makes it much easier for me to sleep at night when I am not feeling well or having allergy attacks.
Very Good Product!
I use this product in my bedroom every night and ever since, I had very little to almost no congestion at all. Its really quiet and almost makes no noise at all. (a little hum) You also have to clean it every 3 days otherwise it starts growing mold. I still highly recommend this product. :D
Quality Humidifier
Great! solid! I need taller feet. The water compartment needs contoured drain.
Anything but whisper silent
About the first two weeks it was very silent, in fact I didnt even know it was operating. Then all of a sudden it started making noise when it initially was turned on and would subside after a short time. Then it was LOUD and I was unable to get it to quit. In fact, I had to run a sound machine to try and drown out the noise. Once it finally quit making the noise I have left it on continuously since.
Awesome humidifier!!
I have purchased MANY other popular humidifiers on the market only to return them to the store due to very loud operation. My house has very dry air and my children and I sleep more soundly (especially when we have the sniffles) with a humidifier running in our bedrooms while we are sleeping. I have used this humidifer in my own bedroom now for 6 weeks and absolutely LOVE it!! I cant say enough about how wonderfully quiet it is. Its easy to fill, operate, and clean. Im now purchasing another one for my sons bedroom. Their old humidifier stopped working yesterday.....and I tried yet again to purchase a humidier in a store[...]The one from the store is going back in the box as soon as Im off the computer. It was so loud that I could hear it from my bedroom with both of our bedroom doors closed!! Sharper Image has developed the PERFECT humidifier!!! It really is whisper quiet. I will be back for another when my daughters need a new humidifier for their bedroom. Thank you Sharper Image for helping
great humidifier
I use this humidifier 24hrs a day 7 days a week. I LOVED this humidifier; it has a very attractive design and is incredibly silent. However, after a couple weeks of using the product it develops a strong whirring sound. I have exchanged it three times now and its done the same thing every single time. I have now bought a different humidifier but that one makes the same sound (from the very beginning though) that the Sharper Image one started making after two weeks. So, everything about this humidifier is perfect if and only if you get one that doesnt start making loud whirring sounds after two weeks!!!!
