We purchased Sharpers Images Hover Board due to knowing that Sharper Image has been around and we could trust the company. We were not disappointed. The Hover Board is a big hit in our house. My kids got these for Christmas and love them! They are 11 and 12 and use them indoors on carpet and outside weather permitting on driveway. They are fun and zip around. Most important to note is to step off behind the board not in front when you want to get off.

Excellent ride
I bought this hoverboard for my kids and they absolutely love it. I know theres a lot of hype and concern re: this product due to battery bursting into flames etc., but Im hoping that a decent name like Sharper Image has some creditibility behind it. Have found no issues with the product and it works very well - balance is achieved easily and product operates smoothly and responsively. Only cons is that it is a bit on the heavy side to carry and also the charger port is a non-standard 3-prong which is hard to insert (as opposed to a regular charger port like laptops have or better still a USB port).

It took a few minutes to get familiar with the controls but he was zipping around in no time. I even tried it and it was simple to operate. So far I havent heard of any complaints. He doesnt leave it charging over night or leave the battery plugged in, per the instructions

I absolutely love this Hover Board! So easy to balance and such a smooth ride. Rides over 20 miles on a full charge...and it has an LED battery indicator light so I never have to worry about the charge. I just step on, shift my weight, and Im cruisin!

My Son loves his hoverboard. I originally purchased the Sharper Image brand at Kohls on Black Friday for a Christmas gift. However, we had to return it right after Christmas as it was very squeaky and stiff in movement. So I returned it and decided to buy directly from Sharper Image and we have no complaints. The new hoverboard is awesome. No issues with movement or any squeaky sounds. The bumpers were also already installed, unlike the Kohls version. I would definite recommend this product!

I got this for my son for Christmas, got it 4-5 days after ordering it (free shipping deal) so I had to hide it; needless to say he loves it. Very easy for him to maneuver. Its very quiet, we all like that.

Gave this as a gift to my grandsons and they love riding and learned to operate it very quickly. We have stressed safety with them about charging the battery and riding responsibility in the wake of the issues reported in the news. We have not had any issues, just fun times.
Amazing, Yet Expensive
I love this thing! I had friends who got it so I decided to get one. One of my friends said that it scratches easily. He was right. It is so so so fun... except mine didnt come with a charger, so we had to call the company, and order one, and the bumpers didnt stick so I needed to order more of those. Overall super fun and I would recommend.

Hoverboard Happiness
The Sharper Image hoverboard was a big hit on Christmas day. Everyone wanted to use it! We practiced inside the house in a larger, carpeted bedroom first, then went outside to ride it on our long driveway and quiet, little traffic street. The directions suggest practicing on grass first, but our lawn would have been too bumpy for a new user. Absolutely love gliding along! Its even a lot of fun to hoverboard and have our ittle dog walk alongside of us. Now we want to buy a second one from Sharper Image!

No other gift received this much attention
This is the most used gift of all of the Xmas gifts. It is what my son wanted; he even does his homework standing on the board. My son is 12 and he automatically got balanced and flies around on it now. It is a bit heavier, but that seems to make it seems sturdier. It looks good, recharges easily with a fairly good battery life. My children have never run out of power. We were concerned about the lithium battery catching fire, but we have charged the battery, even over night, with no problems what so ever.

Great product with a Samsung UL approved battery! The Sharper Image experience was less than desirable as unit showed in stock, but took almost a week and half to get a tracking number. Called and emailed and didnt get a response. It was my first time buying from sharper image and the customer support was disappointed. Product was packaged well and works as it should. Kids just love it, the UL approved battery is the difference. Feel safe and buy one for your kids, they will love you!

We bought two of these after purchasing two of the "fire risk foreign battery" hover boards. These are so sleek and futuristic looking. Our teenage daughters loved them and mastered them quickly. They are able to navigate the house, furniture and outside around the neighborhood as easy as they use their legs. It is odd to think that this is the world now...very Jetson like! The only cons are how heavy they are and the battery life seems short. Its disappointing we cannot take them on vacations that require airline travel because these are perfect for large parks etc. As a severe accident survivor this is excellent for me to be able to keep up with my family and not be in so much pain or so fatigued. It does require great core strength and balance. You will feel it the first week!

Great Xmas present
Xmas present for 16 year old. I was worried I wouldnt get the right type and actually thought I had ordered a different brand and would have to return it. He was super happy with the hoverboard and said it was better than the other ones he had ridden. . Super easy to learn on even mom could do it. Battery life seems ok as well. Mainly using inside with no issue transitioning from tile, wood, or carpet.
Lights are cool but wish there was a way to turn them off as an option.

I bought this as a gift for my son. The board came packaged nicely with instructions, power cord and bumpers. I ordered next day delivery and it got it on time the very next day. Easy to use even my six year old knows how to ride it.

Good quality toy
Purchased two hover boards for 9 and 11 year old boys for Christmas. The boys are very active and ride the boards about one hour per day. They race, spin, stand up, sit down, etc. on the boards. They appear to be very sturdy. Weve had no issues with quality or battery life. Weve only had them for a month so we will see if they stand the test of time.

My son received this for Christmas. From the moment he opened it, he and his siblings have been riding it non-stop. The charge lasts all day, if not more, but we charge it nightly. With hardwood floors throughout our house, theyve been using it all day indoors while its snowy outside. I can only imagine the fun theyll have when they can take it outdoors.
Overall - solid unit. I was nervous getting one from the various overseas retailers as I wanted a solid customer service team behind this unit. Fortunately its worked perfectly to date and havent needed to contact them anyway.

This is obviously the gift of the season for a certain age group. I wasnt about to pay what some of my friends were paying. $500-1,000! I ordered one for a great price. It was coming direct from China (I guess they all do!) and I waited and waited for weeks. For for a few dollars more, I ordered another one from Sharper Image and it was delivered within a week! No brainier! My daughter is sending me non-stop video clips of her in action. Whats not to love?

The kids say it is easier to control than their friends hover boards from hoverboard 360. The kids LOVE it, no complaints. They are age 12 and 11. They are having a blast with it. They also think the lights are very cool.

We do make sure to unplug the charger when not in use and we do not charge it overnight or when were out of the house. Researched online blog/chat boards, as well as Sharper Images warranty/return policy and decided to buy. So far the Sharper Imager Hover Board is "delivering the goods". Its reliable, charges as it should and appears somewhat more durable than other brands. Hope it lasts.

Seems sturdier than other brands. The bumper guards saves on nicks and sctatches but plastic on other areas scratch chip if you run into a corner when turning. A fun activity for all ages.
Life Changer For Me!
I have secondary progressive MS and have trouble walking and getting around. Simple things like having to go back in the kitchen when Im in the living room or vise versa are huge for me because it takes me so long and its so difficult for me. I have a vacation planned in the Dominican Republic at a resort where I know theyre will be a ton of walking and I Im not really looking forward to it. Have not opened yet as it is a Christmas gift. Wondering what are the specs for the battery? I do not see any information online if the battery is made by a well known company or not. I purchased mainly because it was a company I knew and it had a warranty but curious about the specs of the parts to make sure it is a good one to keep.

I ordered this product a week before Christmas for my son, after doing endless hours of research for a SAFE hover board. Sharper Image was one of the few sites that I found that spoke on its safety guidelines and testing. It also ended up being cheaper than most sites. Our hover board was received a day earlier than expected and the ordering process was quick and easy. My son and I are very pleased with the hover board and he proclaims to "never walk again!" Lol.

One of the Best Toys YET
I bought two of these for my niece and nephew. They have a long driveway and space to go go go. I get nervous when they use it, but as long as they know how, they seem to do good. This is a fun toy for any kid. And it goes fast too. My nephews 12 and he handles it well. Lots of laughter in the house now. I was tempted to hop on myself and try it myself and I did. Great toy for kids.

Got mine today! I absolutely love it. Its MUCH faster than I expected. Takes about 5 minutes of slow leaning to get the hang of it, but after a few minutes I was zipping up and down the street.

No issues so far with overheating. I follow the instructions to the letter though so hopefully that prevents any issues: basically keep it off when charging. Do wish the battery indicator had levels instead of just charged (lit) or empty (blinking) but other than that it has been working like a champ. Seems solidly built.

This is our second sharper image board- our first one was stolen- its great! My 10 year old rides it everywhere. It charges very quickly. The only problem is that the light covers on the front push in easily- had to open the whole machine to place the lens back in place. We would get this same board again in a heartbeat. We trust it and love it.

I love using my daughter hoverboard and so does she ! Im 31 years old and managed to get the hang of it pretty quickly. Actually Im a pro! I notice that her friends boards are scratched up pretty badly after having them for a short period of time. Our board just has a few superficial scratches and some smudging that can be wiped off. Im satisfied so far thanks sharper image!

It doesnt build confidence on this product and I am taking the best precaution I can.
I am trusting Sharper Image to deliver a higher quality product than in Amazon.
However , this a neat little toy, fun, easy to control. My kids( 10 and 16) me (57 years old) my wife learnt it fast. If you have a minimum of athletism and balance , this is a piece of cake . Fast learning curve .

I purchased this item strictly because of the reputation of Sharper Image. My son has enjoyed it everyday since Christmas and my husband and I are happy with it. In terms of safety, we do not have any complaints. We were very specific with our son regarding charging (do not overcharge) and storage and other safety things like wearing shoes, wrist guards, etc.. It is very heavy but what do you expect from something that is capable of allowing a 220 lbs person to "hover" above the ground?! Very happy with our purchase and we have recommended the purchase of this hoverboard from Sharper Image to our friends & family.
Better than expected
The hover board is amazingly easy to learn and ride. Within a few minutes, I was able to scoot around and turn with no problem. It handles hills fairly well on the uphill. The downhill is an issue. Be careful down a hill as it tend to make you fall forward. All in all, a great product.

Bought for my 14-yr old daughter but I love riding it too! Im a large guy (over 6 ft, 210 lbs) who is not particularly coordinated. Took about 15 minutes and I was riding it normally. My daughter was a little apprehensive at first but in 1 day - shes confident and loves riding it too! Its very intuitive but the book gives a few tips about riding that you will want to follow.

Ths Hover board is the perfect gift for 12+ year olds. My son got this as a gift and he loves it. It is very easy to use. He was able to ride it easily after 15 minutes of practice. He is 12. This was a gift for my 13 year old son. It was easy to learn how to ride and he can go for quite some time on one charge. I like that it warns you before the batteries go dead - it weighs 27 pounds, so carrying it far is not an option. Only negative is that the "bumpers" that were included are not sticking to the board and the machine isnt as quiet as it once was. Its much more creaky and we may be able to fix that with some oil. Our charger was dead out of the box, but SI immediately sent another one and we havent had any issues.

The Sharper Image Hoverboard is well constructed and the order, processing and support was excellent. Has an issue early on in the order process but their customer support was friendly and efficient. The product has performed well and we bought another one for our other granddaughter. Having Sharper Image behind the product was definitely a plus given all the bad information tegarding hoverboards.

Explosive FUN!
This was the best Christmas gift EVER for a middle-aged "kid." I have not fallen off of it. It took about 45 minutes to get totally comfortable with it. I took it to work and everybody got a kick out of it. I am having so much fun riding this thing. I am being reminded by so many people about the batty explosions; the only think explosive is the fun I am having with it! I have done my share of reading on the boards and feel confident that Sharper Image has designed a safe product designed for responsible young adults and older with a good quality Samsung battery. I make sure that I dont overcharge the battery and keep an eye on it while its charging; removing it from the outlet as soon as its charged. I hope to get many years of enjoyment with this board.

I bought 2 hoverboards for Christmas gifts. They came in on time and well packaged. Prior to purchase, i did some researching and i was even able to speak to a representative both on the phone and online. Both were equally helpful and offered me a coupon and rebate for my purchases. The items are rather heavy, but all boards are. They were a huge hit for Christmas! I love that i get a warranty on it and if i need to get a hold off someone they are just a call or chat away.

This 50+ guy got this as a Christmas gift and having a blast! It rides smooth, is very quiet, and very responsive. It took about 45 minutes to feel comfortable. Never fell, but stumbled twice because I tried to go up a curve in a hallway. The only negative is not being able to go over little bumps.

I was a bit apprehensive in purchasing this hover board as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old because of reports that some of them catch on fire, however, this one has been great so far! My son LOVES it and rides it with such ease. Its a little heavy (approximately 25 lbs.) for him to carry but its good quality, durable, designed nicely and has a long battery life. Its fun and entertaining.
I read the instructions carefully so hopefully we wont experience any malfunctioning or injuries. I would recommend this hover board.

My daughters eyes lit up as if we had bought her a pony. Also bought one for her brother. The only time the two of them get off the board is when their mom or dad insists on riding it. We read lots of concerns about dangerous batteries, and wish California had not passed laws restricting use to 16 and over, with a helmet, on public streets. Our 7 year old has it mastered, and we have some private streets in the neighborhood where he can still have fun. Kids love riding them around the house as well.

I let my son use his B Day money to buy this and have been pleased so far. He has been riding it pretty hard the last week or so and everything seems to be working perfectly. Too cold for outside riding so he has only been riding indoors but seems to work great. Great hover board in a sea of cheaply or faulty options
I purchased this hover board for my 13 year old son after I returned a faulty one that I ordered online as a Christmas gift. He has had the hover board for about 2 months now and so far, so good. He loves riding around on it. It seems like a quality product that does not fritz out. I am still concerned about the widely publicized issues about battery and charging affecting hover boards generally so so we do not leave it charging unattended as a precaution. It has a good battery life. The charge input can be a little awkward as you have to line it up precisely.
Overall, if you are going to purchase a hover board, I think this is one of the top options out there in terms of ease of use, reliability and safety.

This board is extremely intuitive!!! So make sure to read the how to manual for awesome tips! Dont be alarmed if at first you dont succeed- it takes a little getting used to. One major tip- the board becomes your feet! Therefore, just move your body/ankles in the direction you would like to go. Great quality- sturdy and it looks beautiful!!!

Best Hoover Board ... my girls love it
Great Christmas Present
The hoverboard was a great Christmas present for my son of 10 years old. Took him a few minutes to get use to riding it but now I cant keep him off it. The battery life seems to be good on it. The construction of the unit seems to be well built. It is a good product.

I bought this for my 13 year old son, he loves it!!! A few of his friends got boards to, but this one rides better and look better. I love the rubber part above the wheels, it keeps it from getting scratched up.

With all the concerns on the news about hover boards I was skeptical about buying them. These hover boards are safe, easy to use and the kids absolutely love them. I purchased 4 of them and so far they all are working perfectly. You should follow basic safety measures including helmets, elbow and knee pads as you would for
bikes or ripsticks, etc. to prevent injury. Absolutely love this product.

This is my second Hover Board to purchase from Sharper Image. This one is actually an updated version of the first one we ordered and LOVED and is even better. Both of my children enjoy riding the hover board every day!

not yet used consistently since IT IS A GIFT, but putting through its preliminary paces IT delivers!!
the Sharper Image description mentioned NOTHING about lower weight limit/minimum but the manual says 45 lbs
if you have a little extra in the front (belly or other??) could prove difficult to get the hang of my brother fell a few times because of his heavy front (as he leaned to drive the hoverboard in that direction)

Sometimes stuff just doesnt work
Bought 2 one for my son and one for my daughter. They road them for 3 hours then need to charge ( that was battery life out of box). After charging 3 hours my sons was fine, but my daughters would only work for 2 min then start blinking battery and power light red to green. It would shake and not work. Tried to re calibrate but still had problem. Was upset, but called Sharper image and they sent a return lable with out any issues and are sending another one to me. Biggest issues was getting Fedex to take a hover board back! Spent 3 hours driving to mains Fedex ware house cause that was they only place that would take it. Over all though my sons has worked great and he has lived it. Sometime stuff just doesnt work. Company was great at making it right.

Exceeds expectations
We purchased this for our 14 year old son. He is over the moon. Have been worried about all the bad press but so far we have had no problems with the sharper image brand hover board. He picked up on it like a duck in water. I find it much harder than that but he was riding it straight out of the box. The prices seem to fluctuate. I would watch the site to gauge best price. If you are looking for a wow factor gift, this is it!

Great idea. Fun. However, it requires good self balancing and dexterity. Have someone helping you when you use it for the first time.
Strange Noise
Purchased 3 for the kids and all work great. But one has a high pitch whining sound from the right side. I am concerned that this might be defective. Anyone else have this issue?

Quality Product and Fun for All
Kids and adults both have fun with it. Have used it mostly indoors, but it has ventured outside across sidewalks and paver driveways. With all the news reports weve been very careful with charging it while unattended, although everything seems to be fine with the SharperImage version.

First off it was delivered quickly at the busiest time of the year. I had called asking about the news saying hover boards were catching on fire and was assured that none of the Sharper Image products had. My son in-law who is a skate boarder was given this as a gift and LOVES it. Because we had snow, it was tried out in our garage by several age groups and they had no trouble maneuvering it. Good quality and good time!!

This was a gift for my son at Christmas - he was so excited and thrilled - it was the one thing he really wanted and I had it before Christmas - even though I order it only a week before. With that being said - there was only one issue with this particular board - the right wheel locked up - NO WORRIES - called Sharper Image and they stood by their product 100% - NO PROBLEM - sent me a return (no charge) form and once they received it they sent me a new one - I would highly recommend buying through Shaper Image - they stand by their products and support their customers - I will definitely buy future products through them, not to mention that they are a reputable company!!!

This is such a great gift
We got this for my kid as a gift. Every one of his cousins loved playing on it. My son has had a great time using this thing. It has a reasonable battery life of about 30 to 45 min. It takes about 3 hours for it to charge. The only problem we have had is he hit something across the bottom and it popped the battery cover loose. We took it off put it back in place and havent had any issues with it since. I would buy this item again for him!

Christmas Gift for my 11 year old son. He loves it. It looks great and has demonstrated a long time between battery charges. If you ride it outside, the body of the board will get scratched. The rubber bumpers over the fenders help protect it. Dont wait get one ordered.
