Very quiet but a bit pricey
Bought this for my sons room. Contrary to other reviews I didnt have any problem operating this product however I have to refill this often and I dont even run it all day long. I do like the humidstat and the extension rods but considering how pricey this was I find the design and construction a bit flimsy but well have to see how this holds up over the long haul.

Great Product
Does an excellent job as a super quiet humidifier that last a good 2 days. The LED readout seems to bright at night and should have had a dimmable button.
Smart Choice
I purchased this humidifier because it was highly rated. I like the extension pole that allows mist to escape higher up in the room. There are 2 adjustable mist shoots so I can move the spouts in the direction I want the mist to go. There are 3 levels of mist volume to choose and the unit also flashes when out of water. It offers a warm or cold mist and keeps you updated on what percentage of humidity you have in the room, which is a nice feature. The instructions are a bit complicated and the unit could use some sort of handle to help carry the container that needs filling as it can be awkward to turn upside down when filled and put back into the machine. I would also like a way to turn off all the lights on the controls as they do cast a soft blue light in the bedroom that can keep you up if you dont like light when sleeping. Otherwise, the item is great. It is quiet and works well. I also like that it has a mold control lining to help prevent mold build up. I havent had the unit long enough to

I am an old man with DRY mouth and sinuses. Both markedly improved with use on bedside table . Is large and requires filling nightly as I use it on HIGH , but Very pleased so far.

Quiet atttractive
I use one in my bedroom during the night. It is silent, cannot hear it. I find it difficult to use controls without good lighting. I also purchased another one to use in another room. I usually need to fill it with water after three uses.

Pureguardin ultrasonic humidifer
This humidifer is easy to use. Not noisy and the mist is very fine. I dont have a problem with it making the area around it too wet like other I read about. I like that it has a humidistat control to see how much moisture is in the room.

Great Humidifier!
I use this product in a small bedroom and it keeps the humidity up even with the door being open and closed all day. Even in a climate where we are under 10% humidity in the winter months, the low setting (which lasts for days) is usually enough for a smaller room. The mist comes out even, clean, and is quite enough to sleep with. Ive tossed a lot of cheep humidifiers out over the years. If you need it on a regular basis this is a great investment. Worth the price!
Very quiet
The night light is very bright and even thought you can turn it off, the LED remains on an is still is very bright.

The product works very well and gets the job done.It is very efficient and I would recommend to anyone.. I wish the Hunidifier had a dimmer for the LED readouts as they provide a bright light in the evening which is distracting.
Very quiet, works great!
Very quiet soft light, night light is bright and can add great lighting when needed. The mist can be heavy or soft flow, controls are easy and it is programmable. The only con is it is hard to pick up, I have lifted it and forgetting I have to lift from the bottom and water went everywhere. Not so easy to refill the water tank but we dont have to do it very often so not so bad
It is great product.
It is great specially the size and weight. Even it is containing large amount of water but overall itself was not heavy so it was easy to control. However, there are too many function so you have to study with users manual before you use them.
Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend to friends and family.
Excellent Humidifier
I find it is easy to move from one room to the other. The tall wand is terrific as it does not have to point directly towards you but allows the mist to drop down for full effect. The other huge plus is that it does not make things all wet! My tables and pictures are free of dampness!
So Happy, I just purchased another
A humidifier was suggested by my doctor. I plan to use the second one I just ordered in my den it took me a while to figure out how to find and use the controls . because of my eyesight and age it took me a little longer. Was a brush to be included. Using one was mentioned in the cleaning?

This humidifier is great because it has a spout that rises high enough to emit mist at the level it needs to be but you can hide the base. I have another humidifier that I have to refill daily. I can go a couple of days with this one.

We live in Colorado and it is very dry here...I used to have to get up a couple times at night for sip of water due to dry throat, but now I dont, which also eliminated night time bathroom breaks. ;) My husband says that my snoring is gone as well, so thats a plus! Im no longer stuffy and I sleep through the night! As far as light being a bit bright for sleep (even with nite light turned off on it), I drape a hand towel over it.
Girlfriend likes it
Sometimes in the morning since it is Winter and the heat warms up the house, the air gets dry and causes sinus/throat irritation. Using the humidifier has helped and was very noticeable.
Works just as described
I purchased this humidifier to use in a wine cellar that does not keep up adequate humidity since I live in a dry So Cal. The unit works perfectly for this purpose and is attrsctive and compact enough to easily blend in. Since it needs to run frequently the water reservior does not last the "up to 90 hours" but other than that, I feel it was a great purchase.

I use this product at home at nighttime. It has a great look to it and is easy to use. I was specifically looking for a humidifier that showed the humidity %. I love the extender too. Overall a great product - its quiet and does what I want!
Whisper Quiet
It makes all the different in a very large bedroom. I no longer wake up wiht a dry mouth and lips. The reservoir has a perfectly placed handle that makes filling adn re-setting a breeze.

THIS IS A GREAT HUMIDIFIER HOWEVER IT DOES NOT LAST THE 90 HRS ADVERTISED. GIVEN HOW EASY TO REFILL IT IS, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM.
Very Effective
After years of using a large, difficult-to-fill humidifier with a filter, I wanted to try something different. The Smart Mist Humidifier is expensive, but it does an excellent job, is quiet and fairly easy to handle. I am considering the purchase of a 2nd unit.
So quiet!
I love the extender tubes. I sit it on the floor in my bedroom and it has helped my dry sinuses alot.
Perfect as a single room humidifier
Even though we were offered a $10 credit toward a purchase of $50 or more as an enticement to do this review, this product works as advertised. It is easy to set up and operate. Great for a single room humidifier.
Looked at many, decided on this one
I have allergies/sinus issues and was told that adding humidity might help as winter is a very dry time. Will use in summer as well since we use AC and that is very drying. I feel it is helping to have this on during the night. Watch your setting as it will sweat the windows if you set the humidity too high.
Easy & quiet
We have it in the great room, it increases humidity from about 20% to about 30% on the low setting which makes the water level last quite a while. Would be much better in a smaller room as specified in the ad.

One of a Kind Humidifier
This humidifier is the only one that includes two optional-use poles that extend the mist high up into the room instead of aiming the mist at the floor as all other humidifiers do. Good for misting plants that are sitting on a table. This one feature is unique and so versitile in distributing mist where it belongs -- in the air, not on the floor.
Easy to operate, lightweight, and works great!
This is a fantastic cool or warm mist humidifier that offers many control options for strength of airflow, amount of humidity, and hours of operation. The tank is lightweight and easy to fill. I use it all night and only need to refill it a couple times a week. Its very quiet. I especially like the optional pipe that raises the height of where the mist comes out. The only thing I dont like is the nightlight. Its very bright, and there is no way to shut it off or dim it that I can find. I turn it away from me, so its not a big deal. Thats just the only feature I think you should tweak.

Very quiet
I love the sleek lines of this unit. It is nice not to have to refill the water tank for several days. I love that it can monitor the humidity in the room and turn itself on and off. I love that you can have warm or cold mist. My only complaint is that you cannot have it on auto mode without the night light, which is a bright blue light, so we just turn that side to face the wall, makes it less annoying. I would highly recommend this unit.

We do much research before we purchase. This humidifier makes us feel better. We need to test it next winter, though. Didnt get it till late this season. So far, very pleased.

Excellent for areas or homes where air is dry due to wood heat.
Really helps where individuals have breathing problems - keeps air cool or warm -- plus its really quiet and enclosed so that there is less noise and no dust to get into the fan areas. And no messy filters.

good product with some flaws
We bought this for our bedroom. The humidifying aspect is very good,and it is quiet. However I still havent mastered the humidity level controls vs.power levels, or warm vs. cool output...too many directions to follow. And even though it is a sleeker design than most, it is larger and heavier than it seemed from the photo and description.
Has a very fine mist compared to most others.
This is our second purchase of this product. It has a very fine mist which we like quite a bit. Other humidifiers we have used almost create a puddle under it. The bad news though is some parts of the mist creation unit dissolved after a few months of winter use and then storage of a few months of summer and then reuse again in winter. But we havent found one that better met our needs so we purchased it again.
Dad is Happy!
I purchased this for my dad who lives in an assisted living facility. When I walked in the door with it, his first words were, "its too small and will never work". The next day he called to say it was perfect and the best humidifier hes ever had. I also purchased the demineralization attachment and it doesnt work or fit with the unit. My husband called customer service for help and he did everything they said but we never got it to attach the correct way. So we just dont use it. Other than that its an attractive, compact machine and everybody is happy!

The Best Every Humidifier!
I use one of these in my family room and one in my bedroom. My elderly mother has come to live with me and likes the house warm--the air gets very dry. I love this humidifier--it is a real workhorse, exceptionally easy to fill with water and very light weight. Ive had quite a number of the over the years and this one is the best. It really pumps out the humidity! I do wish it would allow turning out both of the blue lights as I like my room dark at night.

So sad, this was my second try at a Sharper Image Humidifier. It only worked for a couple of days and then just stopped. Same thing happen to another model I had purchased a month before.

Best Humidifier Ive Ever Had
We use it every night. Big help for my Wife, who has COPD, it helps her breath at night when she sleeps.
one weeks use
I used this product in the bedroom to be able to sleep with properly humidified air. I run the humidifier throughout the day so that the humidity is correct when I first go to bed. I really notice a pleasant difference in the quality of the air when I walk in the bedroom. I believe that the improved humidity is helping me sleep better and my nose and skin be more hydrated. The one downside is getting used to the sounds that the humidifier makes. it makes gurgling sounds as the water is distributed within it. And there is a noticeable high pitched sound. Somehow, Ive become used to it and am sleeping through it, but with the use of a sound soother right next to my bed. The extension stems really help distribute the humidity through the room and keep it away from the floor. Since Ive only used this unit for one week, Im not sure how I will feel about it when it is several months old and has gone through a winter.
I would buy this product again and I probably will.

Excellent Value
We have been needing a humidifier for some time now and finally got around to purchasing one. This unit is easy to set up and maintain. Great array of control settings to keep the optimal humidity. Easy to operate as well. It is extremely quiet. The only drawback is the display is quite bright. We have found it is best to turn the display away from the sleeping area at night. Very satisfied with this unit for the price paid. A great value and we are sleeping much better now.
What I expected
I have been using this product only for a week. So far, it was an excellent choice. Humidifiers tend to have a short life span, I want to see how this one does.
When I purchased the humidifiers I thought it would come with a Smart Mist Demineralization Cartridge. It didnt. That should be stated clearly in the web page.
I enjoy it but its not perfect
My nose feels a lot more clear and not dry. I wish that the tank of water could last longer, its like every other day I need to fill it up.
Great Small Humidifier
Unit is used in our great room. It is a clean, functional design. The water reservoir needs to be twice as big. We have to fill it once a day.
Works great--Reservoir may be too small
The unit works very well. The reservoir is, however, too small for seriously dry conditions. Our machine is located in the bedroom ( 12x12 ). I set the level at 50 and run the power on high. The humidity gets to about 42 maximum with me filling the reservoir 2-3 times a day. I would think that filling it once a day at the most would be more reasonable! I would be better off with a unit which incorporated a larger reservoir, hopefully in a unit that works this well!
Designed to Protect Itself from Failure
Great that unit shuts down when water is low, thus protecting the sonic transducer. Excellent variable mist control. Truly humidifies room for great comfort in dry winter heating conditions.

Ive been searching for a product that requires little maintenance. Whats easier than a humidifier that doesnt require changing filters and resists mold? I use it at night in a room of asthma sufferers and the air feels moister and breathing seems easier. Thanks

Time will tell. Its been quite for us, blue lights can be a bit bright in bedroom. Not sure where the silver water cleaner is, or if it can be replaced. Says its in the water tank, have yet to find. Happy with it so far for the money.

So Far, So good
I purchased this for my father who is nuts about having a certain percentage of humidity in his apartment. This is his 3rd unit in a little over one year. The first 2 were much less expensive and simply didnt work. I have not seen it in action yet as my husband and son stopped at my dads place to set it up. I purchased the demineralization cartridge with this unit and my husband said it didnt work and it oozed yellow gunk...dont know what thats all about. I will be stopping at my dads on the way home from work today (11/24/14) and will get the scoop on this right from the horses mouth. It arrived very quickly upon ordering, its an attractive little unit, and it did go through water rather quickly in the first couple of days but as my husband said, "It needs time to catch up". Hmmm.
mostly happy with my humidifier
I purchased two units for two bedrooms. One room has 217 sq.ft plus a 74 sq.ft. walk-in closet. The second room has 149 sq.ft. I set the desired level at 50% humidity in both, and the units typically maintain a humidity level between 42% and 45%, which I find acceptable. I have only been using these units for five days, so performance comments are still provisional and durability cannot yet be judged.
What I can say at this point is:
positive comments are that the units are very quiet with very little water gurgling sounds, and dont disturb sleep, and that the units produce a very fine mist which doesnt moisten the walls, which are about a foot away. I also think the units are handsome, and easy to refill. I also like the water level indicator on the side.
My biggest gripe, as others have said, is that you cant turn off the display, which is much too bright at night in a bedroom where I want a dark room. I have jury-rigged a piece of white cardboard attached with white cloth tape, but some light still
Great trouble free unit!
I keep a guitar collection in my basement so the humidity needs to be stable. In the winter time it drops too low so I needed an auto unit that maintains a set humidity and this unit fits the bill well. It will run for almost a week on low setting and the cleaning has been easy so far. My wife bought two different and much cheaper units and they need to be cleaned daily and still build up calcium deposits, and they are not auto.
Nice humidifier buts needs frequent refi
The Smart Mist humidifier functions well and has intuitive controls and an attractive design. My only complaint is that the water tank runs out much quicker than I expected. The description claims the unit can run up to 90 hours on low setting. However, for typical usage where humidity is set for 40-45%, the tank needs refilling after just one evening.
