Not like the older Quadra Ionic air cleaners!
Not like the older Quadra Ionic air cleaners. These have fans and make a noise, not loud but are not quite like the older ones. Disappointed that they were not like the ones I was trying to replace after many years.
Clean Air here we come
I have two of the air cleaners, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. Fans are a little noisey if they are on any level but low, if fans are on high, be prepared for the cleaning light to come on more sooner than later and when that light comes on, it makes a extremely loud snapping noise, kind of startles you at first. I cleaned them in my whirlpool bathtub with jets going, not sure if they are really clean as clean light came on within a day or two after cleaning. I really liked the previous Sharper Image Ionic Breezes the way they cleaned the wires, I didnt have to clean those machines for 2 weeks at a time, these new ones can be more often having to clean them or just turn on the on and off button once and the light goes out for another day or so if needed. Takes forever to dry once you have washed them too.

ionic comfort Quadra air purifier
Our daughter has severe allergies and we have 3 dogs.We dont want to get rid of the dogs,or our daughter,so we needed a solution.We have tried many products,but finally, with the Ionic Comfort Quadra air purifier,in just one day,the dust was gone, even after the dogs come in from outside and shake.Our daughter is very happy,she doesnt have to sneeze all day ,or move.Thanks SI

Extraordinary Air Cleaning
This device removes even the microscopic debris from the air that I never knew existed...until it comes time to clean the unit. Wow! "That was in the air I was breathing" becomes immediate gratitude for the efficiency and effectiveness of the air purifier. I gave my "gently used" one to my daughter for her bedroom when I purchased this one, but am now considering buying one for her for her living room. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

I have mine in the bedroom because I was so stuffed up I couldnt sleep and now I do and it doesnt keep me awake, its so quiet. But it has to be 24 " from a wall and furniture on either side of it and so it sits in the middle of the room and I do not enjoy this feature. I wanted it to blend in to my bedroom and not be the fogel point. Would I get rid of it - not on your life !

poping sounds
They are very nice and work very good. They do make loud poping sounds once in awhile that will just make you junp. We are starting to use to the noice.
So far so very good.
I run this air purifier all the time except when it is the array is drying. I love it that I can simply wash the arrays, keeping clean and activei is where it is at. I like the feeling of clean air so much I may need to get one for my classroom as well.
Our fourth air purifyer
We had to replace our sharper image air purifyer after 15 years. This is a newer model The only difference I have notice is a fan noise. It, however, does not interfere with sleep as we have this one in our bedroom. We have another of the same model in the living room. Obviously I highly recommend this product as I have repurchased it to replace old models which stopped functioning. I especially like the ease of cleaning the filter rather then having to purchase replacement filters
Ionic breeze
Built much better than any previous ionic breeze, I have owned all of them. The new product looks like it might even last ten or more years. I have serious allergy problems and the new ionic breeze is easy to use and easy to clean. I have two,one in living room and one in bedroom.
Its All They Say It Is
I love the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier. There have been a lot of forest fires accross the mountains from us. Now the smokey air has moved into our area. I have asthma and when I am outside I am uncomfortable. When we have visited others homes I also feel it. In our home the air is fresh and clean and I have no problems. Tonight we came home and found one of our dogs had urinated in his crate. It really smelled bad. We washed his blanket and wiped down the crate and turned the air purifier to ten. Within minutes the room smelled wonderful and fresh. This is a great product I would recommend it highly to anyone.
The Sharper Image ionic is Terrific!
I have lots of allergies. This is life saving! I began with the Sharper Image Quadra years ago.
My ionics are the original that I bought years ago So, tomorrow Im going to call Sharper Image to buy new ones. I usually have 3 or 4 on in the house. Because Im having a store within a couple of months, I want one for there, also.
The ionic really does eliminate viruses! Now, that I have a cat I need to insure that the airborn dander is under control. So, I turn to Shaprer image ionic.
To top this off, I just looked for the Sharper Image location, and it is right here in my home town!!!
Make this the Air Purifier for you
I bought this to replace my cheap air purifier that bit the dust. I love to read and have a huge bookshelf in my room. I also have allergies that dont go well with the books. My old air purifier took care of that and made everything great. Unfortunately, the price of the filters got to be outrageous. With the no filter air purifier from sharper image, the higher cost is easily overlooked when you dont have to buy another filter again. Ive taken the stainless steel filter out and let it soak in the tub to clean off. It says you can clean it in the dishwasher but I dont recommend that because there are very fine wires that could easily break. Soaking it takes care of that just as well, just add a little bit of soap. Overall, this product keeps my room smelling fresh and clean with no musty smell from the books.
Ionic Air Purifier
For years I had an "Ionic Breeze" (smaller and all black) in my bedroom. When it stopped working properly I purchased another! Just felt I needed that fresh air in the bedroom. Also I have pets and really believe it assisted in my breathing better at night. This model is a bit larger and all white but I am getting used to it. Really like the improvement in the ability to clean the filters in water - I am hoping the unit will therefore last a bit longer than the original models.
We ordered two. Only one worked.

Works Great
Bought two of these approx. 3 months ago and could not have been happier with the price. We have had them both turned onto level 5 and just cleaned them for the first time about two weeks ago. They cleaned extremely easy and they were back in action. They are a bit noisy at first, but we soon found the white noise to be rather calming!
Too big and too heavy, but does good job
Many years ago I bought your top ionizer, which was much smaller. It seems that size is no longer made, as I checked multiple stores and none found. This size is too big but it does cover my 1300 foot condo effectively. Other smaller units are not necessary to augment this one. Biggest drawback: The filter is very heavy too lift out of the unit, especially when the person is short! Also, I have a standard size dishwaher, and it does not fit.

Very noisy
I purchased this item to eliminate cigarette smoke plus an additional odor to COVER UP the cigarette smoke that I received from a neighbor who lives two floors below me in a elegant condo. This items certainly does address the issue.
The cigarette smoke and odor are not eliminated.
The noise from the purifier can be heard the entire time it is on, even the lowest speed.
I am extremely disappointed.
Works great in the beginning
After about a years use the yellow cleaning light indicator stays on. It also constantly hisses even though I clean it weekly and is thoroughly dry. This is my 3rd unit and definitely my LAST!

Sharper Image reinvented
The Sharper Image has taken all of the bugs out of the original air machine
that it was modeled on and has made it so much better. I purchased two of these machines and am well satisfied with them. So much so that I will be soon adding two more of them for other rooms. Have not been able to quit the smoking habit yet so it is vital that my home is welcoming to incoming guests. These air machines do just that. It also provides me with a smoke free home and that is very important to me. I run them 24/7 and the air always smells fresh and smoke free. I would definitely recommend purchasing them. They are well worth the price.
Product is stable for its height
I thought I would notice an odor as I did in previous air purifiers. I assume this is working as I dont notice anything different in the odor in the room. Hope this is true. No way of knowing if it is actually purifying the air. Only reason I purchased this brand was to be able to wash the filter by hand or in my dishwasher.

Inonic breezes were the best. After ten years I had to change to the another technology since IBs are not made any more. The problem with this unit is that Im not sure that it really does anything.

LOVE this air purifier
We have 4 dogs in the house. Needless to say, my home was starting to smell like a kennel. Ive used other air purifiers but this one is the BEST!! Within minutes of plugging it in, my house smelled better and its super easy. There are no messy filters to buy and replace. The stainless steel filter goes right in the dishwasher and its ready to put back in the unit as soon as its dry. I love this so much I bought a second one for the upper level of my home and Im also going to buy one for my office.
Overall happiness with purchase
I purchased two of these - one for me & one for a friend. Ive only used mine for a few days and havent gotten to my friend yet to give it to her. She has severe allergies and doctor told her she should have an air purifier so hopefully this will do the trick for her.

I would think twice before buying
I operate this filter 24/7 and it does a good job filtering the air. The problem is it is very difficult to clean. It does not fit into a dishwasher as advertised, not without damaging the wires in the electrostatic filter. In order to clean it I have to use an air compressor to blow out what dust I can then spray it with detergent and rinse it out.
It is a tedious operation and one made more difficult by the close spacing of the wires and plates making up the filter. I would not have purchased this filter had I known how difficult it is to clean.

This is an average machine,a little loud, but its o.k.This one is not near as good as the older Ionic Pro. I would like to see this one brought back. My husband smokes and the Ionic Comfort does not eliminate the smoke as the older one did!

My old ionic breeze broke down after 10 years of usage. This is the newer model which I have yet to test. However base on my previous experience I will not sleep without one especially during allergy season.

Have an old Ionic air filter for a couple years. It still works great, so I thought that I would try a new version. The new version is also great. The air smells clean and the amount of gunk they clean is amazing.

Ive been running the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier non-stop since I got it a month ago. I got it to help with reducing the pollen and other crud in the air that gives my sinus and head such a problem. Its worked perfectly. Im so glad I got it. This is my second one. I bought the first almost ten years ago and it had stopped working. I finally purchased this recent one and wish I hadnt waited so long. It runs a tad noisy when run on high, but its in my bedroom and ends up being white noise for helping with getting to sleep, so its not a problem. Id recommend this air purifier to anyone looking for one.
Noisy
Have several (as in 7) older ionic breeze units in my home that are whisper quiet. I expected the approximate noise level in this unit after watching the on line video. Definitly not appropriate for bedrooms or restful areas unless you enjoy fan noice. Good air cleaning effect but returned items due to the obvious issue.

Pet dander
Macaws, dogs & cats get it dirty fast. I wash it in the bath tub. I use Macaw feathers to get between the blades, Feathers are all Ive found that get between the blades. Glad to have 2 of these machines.
Great Product
I replaced a prior Sharper Image ionic air purifier that lasted many years. I expect this to be as durable and long lasting. I especially like the fact that the filters are permanent.
Changed my childs life
My child has awful allergies and is always coughing sneezing and wheezing. She takes allergy medication daily and bimonthly injections. None of this has helped. The first night with the air purifier she slept throught the night with no coughing. She no longer wakes sneezing and blowing her nose. This has truely been life changing for her.
Easy to Set Up
Just set up the air filter - easy to do. like the easy and variable controls. And the air coming out is cooling. Will probably feel great in the summer. Looking forward to cleaner air in my apt.

I had the old ionic model it was quiet. This is quieter than any other brand out there and more powerful. I use it in my 650sq bedroom and it does a great job.
Best buy that I have made
I have been having severe allergy problems. I have been off work because of the severity of my allergies. I LOVE the fact that I can just take the air filter out and put it in the washer. It keeps me from being exposed to the excess dirt when cleaning the filter. I run them 24 hrs a day. I bought 2 and do notice the difference in the rooms that doesnt have a air purifier. Just purchased the 2 purifiers 3 weeks ago and love it. I wish work would buy a few and put it in their offices. I have recommended this to my co-worker.
This time, bought for our second home
We have had two ionic air purifiers in our home for several years and decided to buy two for our second home because of the improved air quality. We have experienced a definite reduction in head congestion/allergy discomforts. Filters are very easy to clean.
A bit noisier than expected
We used to own a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze that was quite old and decided to get this Ionic Comfort Air. It seems to be doing a very adequate job of cleaning the air and our only complaint is that it has a lot louder noise than the old Ionic Breeze that was pretty much silent. This updated model has a hum that gets louder as the power is turned up. It is pretty unbearable set at 10.

Great product - This is our second one
I have one that I use in my bedroom and am now getting a second one for the den! You really can see the pollen and dust that was cleared from the room when the filter is cleaned. There are similar other itmes on the market, and this one seems to be the best.

Does a great job
The Ionic Comfort Air Purifier does a great job of keeping the air in our house fresh - even with a smoker in residence! It runs very quietly and is easy to set up and use. The only problem with it is that the filter is hard to clean since its too large to fit in our dishwasher. Other than that, were very happy with the purchase.

Louder than original model.
Streamline features. Too eaerly to tell how well it cleans up and do not like how much noise it makes when on. Much more than my original model that I had.
Dandy Device
I had to maintenance the filter for the first time today and I am impressed. I simply pull it out from under the lid and rinsed it off in the shower. I was slightly burdened with its weight because I held it up to the stream of water so that the crevices would be cleansed since I dont have a dishwasher that the labeling says would be just fine as well. Make sure all the droplets are gone before putting it back in the unit or else it wont respond. Even after I put in a slightly damp filter, that I eventually removed, the base unit still functioned once a dry filter was placed into it afterward. Now its back to collecting the air debris so I can be virtually worry-free.
Ionic Breeze
about 10 years ago, our family purchase the Ionic Breeze (3) units, due to Allergies.
Before purchasing these, we were down to one unit working.
It makes a difference in the air quality in the home, and helps with allergies.
One day I looked in a room that had a lot of sun coming in the door, there was a lot of particals in the are. Bought two new Ionic units. Perfect for the house. Clean smell no particals in the air. I am a fan. Worth every penny.

We have four cats and I have two of the older model Ionic Breezes and decided I needed two more. We live in a four story townhouse and have cat boxes on three levels. We have an ionic breeze now in every room that has cat boxes plus in the kitchen. The house smells so fresh and clean with these running. Ive had no trouble cleaning them either. This ionic breeze is loud on a higher speed but I find it isnt necessary to run it at the high speed.

Had these units been good at ridding our home of cigar smoke I would have given them 5 stars. As it is they must sit underneath my husbands nose (Im not kidding about that) on elevated platforms to do the job. I still smell smoke with the one in our living room occasionally.

Its our second ionic
After over 10 years, our first ionic breeze bit the dust! We tried a cheaper brand x but returned it as it turned out to be a glorified fan. So, decided on the newer ionic breeze model. It works fine, but still includes a fan that is somewhat loud. I loved the older skinny version that had no fan and picked up all kinds of dust with just air motion around it. Could you please bring it back?

I purchased this air purifier because my 3 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with asthma after a week long stay in the PICU. I believe that the ionic breeze improves the quality of air in our home, thus improving her respiratory function.
Good Purchase
10 years ago (2003) I purchased an Ionic Breeze from Sharper Image - it was great, but in the last move it developed a noisy and dangerous static lint issue that I could see but not fix. The asthmatic cat in the house started having attacks again, plus the odors from the other units overwhelmed ours. This updated ionic air purifier has solved the problem.
It was a surprise that the unit is MUCH heavier and larger thn the last, but as a result it is much more stable and blends in nicely to the rest of our house. It can be much louder than the old one if turned on high, but the noise is mostly imperceptible if left around 4 out of 10. The unit is much more powerful than the old one as well. Even left on 4, you can smell the difference in air quality - just seems fresher. Cat likes it too!
I thought long and hard and looked at all other units before purchasing this one. I am glad that I chose this one.

Ive only had it for a few days, but Sharper Image wants to give me $10 for reviewing the product now. I didnt think it would be so large or make as much noise as it does. But t certainly helps with the dog smell left from my two weineraners
La La La
This product is used in a basement utility room. I cant really tell if its working because the clean filter light is always on. The filter is not dirty as the product is brand new. Turning it off and then back on again resets the light, but the next day the light is back on. I expected more for the money I spent on this.
So Far So Good
The Ionic Breeze was always so quiet, so the noise is a bit of an annoyance. We havent had them long enough to have to clean them yet, so not sure if that will be as easy either? We have dogs who use a doggie door, so were hoping this helps with allergens, odors, etc.
I Love this Clean Air Machine
I purchased 2 of theses clean air machines. My husband and I both smoke and we have a dog and It is very important to me that my home does not smell like either one. I run them constantly and it is so nice to smell the fresh clean air. I would like to buy 6 more for each room and for my second home.
Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
Bought two; one for basement and one for main floor. Removed musty odor from the basement very quickly. Runs quietly. Pamplet shows the ozone filter being removed to wash. We have been unable to remove it. The Main filter removes easily to wash in the dishwasher.

It is very efficient at taking dust and dander out of the air. Also very easy to clean. When on high it makes some fan noise but it is well worth it.

These Comfort Air Purifiers do a wonderful job of clearing the air. We smoke in the house and these really do the best of any we have ever tried.
The only problem we had was the advertised free S & H. In the online order form it stated to enter a " code " in the place, only thing ... no place for the code. That cost $29.95 each and we bought two. So we are out almost $60.00.
The product is great, just watch for the price.

My first unit lasted 8 years so ok. It truly works well. Removable filter assembly cleans easily in the dishwasher but to clean the external housing is a different story.

A must have for asthma sufferers

Good quality, good delivery

I love the product. The first month I never slept better in my bedroom, as we sleep with our dogs; and my nose is always stuffed up. The iconic breeze took care of all that. LOVE IT!! After a month we did clean the filter in dish washer. Used the drying cycle however, I still needed to put a blow dryer to it to make sure it was completely dry. Dont know how to clean ozone filer or even take it out to clean it. Now it seams to not work as well as it did when we first got it. How do you change the ozone filter sharperimage? Help.
My husband and I bought 2 ionic comforts on November 24. One came in damaged so we are still waiting for replacement and we are now into January. Customer service could be much better. I had to send back the unit (their expense) then wait for the credit on my charge card which happened finally on December 18 now I have to call them to order again for the one that broke. This is all Crazyness at the least. Product is worth the hassle. Please Sharperimage do something about

Clean but noisy
The product is working great and the air in our basement level noticably clear of unpleasant odors (like doggy smells!) and stuffiness. I havent needed to clean the product yet, so my only complaint at this point is the noise. I have to keep it at "minimum" (and theres a whole lot more on the dial!) so its not annoyingly loud. The noise is a whirring of the fan. Our first purifier from Smarter Image was a Quaddro and it was totally effective and totally quiet, plus easy to clean. I dont know why its no longer offered!

the first step to so much better health
i purchased an original ionizer air cleaner almost 20 years ago. i have been in love ever since, with its quiet and excellent efficency. i was actually hoping to find the one like i have, but i find this on is just as good, only cleaning it cannot be done by hand. when all is said and done, i would still order it again, as its performance outweighs anything negative.

Not sure yet if this works for me. I loved my old sharper image air cleaner but it stopped working after 10 years. I wish they still made the older model the house smelled so clean and it was easy to clean.

I tried a couple bargain brands with the same ionic technology concept, but the sharper image brand definately has a bigger impact on air quality.

Fresh Air Indoors
I have previously had an ionic breeze for over 8 years before I bought this new model. I loved the old one and am very enthusiastic about the new one. The air in the house is so fresh you would think you are in the mountains. My allergies are much less and when friends visit they are impressed with the unit So far everyone has asked me a number of questions about it and are going on-line to find out more. I have two units and I consider them essential to a clean indoor environment.

This air purifier is very effective at eliminating odor from cigarette smoke. Id actually like an additional one for another room in my house.
The only reason I didnt rate this with 5 stars is the need to clean the filter more often than I thought. However, its not that large of an inconvenience since my dishwasher can handle the size of the filter.
It works well
I have wanted a purifier due to allergies for a while. I recently got new neighbors that smoke, along with a lot of foot traffic on the sidewalk smoking. I have been able to smell the smoke in my apartment. I figured it would be as good of a time as any to get the purifiers. I got two because of the good deal that was going on with them. They seem to work great. I can no longer smell cigarette smoke in m apartment.
Great Air Filter
Great controls. Easy cleaning. Love not having to buy replacement filters of any kind! Use one in main living areas, and especially in bedroom. Fantastic filtration during this record setting allergy/pollen season! A very quiet operation on low, especially that one is in bedroom.
Only minor drawback is loudness on high setting. But easily tolerated during the day.

I am a long time allergy sufferer. I purchased one about 15 years ago and used it regulary. When my grandsons seasonal allergies became a problem, I loaned my air cleaner to my daughter. To make a long story short, it helped him so I didnt want to take it back. I went on line to order the same one, but after that long of time, they didnt have the old model any longer, so I ordered this one. I was a little disappointed because it is larger than the old one I had, but it works great! I think it cuts down on the amount of medicine I have to take to control the allergies. I run it 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I havent had to clean it yet, but the old one was a breeze to clean...I am considering ordering one for my other daughter now.
Ionic Air purifier helpful
We use this product every day, almost all day long. The purifier cleans the room very quickly and has a fan speed that can change from low to high. The low is whisper silent while the high sounds like a fan and blows like a fan (this will be nice during the summer).

Breathable air
Move it about house as necessary. Once the whole house is "refreshed", we will use it primarily in kitchen and bedrooms. It is surprisingly low noise -- just a whisper from the highest fan setting. Nice modern design with foolproof controls - on/off and fan setting -- thats it.
Frustrating Product
I bought this product for use in my bedroom and actually it does exactly what it says it will--it pulls dust, dirt and other allergens out of the air. The problem is that it works too well for its own good.
The light on the unit which indicates that it requires cleaning comes on at least twice a week. This wouldnt be a problem if the unit was as easy to clean as the manufacturer claims. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to get filter into my dishwasher without ruining it. It is simply too big an bulky to fit without placing it on a diagonal across the bottom drawer, but because my dishwasher has a center water tower this is impossible.
The manual claims that you can wash the filter by hand by soaking it in soapy water for 15 minutes. That would be fantastic if I had a sink large enough to accommodate the enormous filter.
Now at this point you might be thinking, "Cant it just wipe it down with a damp cloth like you could with the ionic breeze?" The answer is no. Unlike the ionic breeze,

I use in my master bedroom where I have 2 dogs. I was very leary about spending so much money on an air purifier. I researched a lot of models and since this one doesnt need filters to be purchased for replacement I figured that it would ease the pain of the price. So far so good, I definitely can tell it removes odors and "floaters" (the stuff you see when light comes in the window). And when I bring it in my bedroom at night, in the morning I find I am not as stuffy in my sinuses as I was when I didnt have it or left it in the other room. The only bummer is when you wash it in the dishwasher it takes a long time to dry. But if you wash it in the morning and leave it all day it should be ready when you get home from work. Otherwise I am satisfied.
Like everything except the fan noise
We have a unit in the TV room and the bedroom. The bedroom unit gets turned off at night. Our "old" Sharper Image units did not have a fan. Everything else about the units are great great.
Everything I expected.
Pets and allergies are usually a bad combination, but the Ionic Comfort cleans the air quickly. The family felt the difference in air quality in the first 5 minutes.
Exactly what I wanted
My bedroom is the room my cats like to hang out in. When I would go in I would start coughing, from the dander I Suppose. First day and night using the Ionic Comfort Quattro my coughing stopped, could.not be happier.

With five cats and a lot of allergies, we need clean air. The Air Purifier does the job. Easy to clean in the dishwasher. Sometimes have to use a blow dryer to dry, but great air. Will buy more in the future.
Improves Air Quality
The few days I was without the Ionic Air Purifier made a big difference in how I felt. My Ionic Quatro, after over 10 yrs of continuous use, snapped an inside wire. I ordered the current model within 1 day and it performs even better than the prior unit.
Issues, Big time
I ordered the first one over a month ago. Upon arriving, I plugged it in, noticed the top two fans did not work. I called CS and sent the unit back. They then shipped a replacement and when it arrived, two weeks later, AGAIN, the top two fans did not work. Wow.....quality has sure gone down hill from when I used to buy from them. I used to LOVE these air purifiers. Now, too much of a headache to re-pack, load into car, and take to Fed Ex not once, but Twice due to non-functioning fans. CS is exceptional;too bad the product isnt. I cant say I would recommend this to a friend because its questionable if they or you will get a fully functioning unit. I cant say NOT to get one because if the unit works, they are by far superior to any on the market.
Good machines
These are really good machines. I bought two. I wouldnt wait until the "clean" light comes on but would reccomend cleaning more frequently, at least every several weeks.
I owned several of the Ionic Breezes of the former Sharper Image "Brick and Mortar" stores. Unfortunately, this company does customers like me, a great disservice with no venue to repair the older machine, even at OUR expense. This made me extremely reluctant to get the new machines until I finally broke down a few months ago.
Its part of the downhill trend of customer service in this country.
Helps with Allergies
I first got introduced to this air purifier by my ex- husband. I have indoor and outdoor allergies. No pets but when spring came in and I didnt have the air purifier I noticed a difference. I had a cold, sneezing and congestion for a month. I had to order the ionic breeze to see if that was the difference. I have it in my bedroom and at this time I am cold free.
Fresher air is possible
We use the product in our bedroom and kitchen area and plan to purchase more for the rest of the house. It really freshens and cleans the air. We have been sleeping better since we started using.
Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Moves AIR!
My mother-in-law, Miss Leona has interstitial lung disease for which there is no cure. I had used another brand of air purifier in the past, but I wanted to get her a couple of Ionic Breeze machines to filter her house and hopefully avoid her getting any secondary lung infections. I was amazed at just how clean the air smells and how much volume these machines clean. It is hopefully helping. We love her so!

I am sorry to tell you i dont like the ionic comfort as well as the sharper image quadra that i had for 8 years previously. The new comfort model is bigger and heavier and not as attractive as the quadra. I live in a small apt so i dont have much room for appliances. As far as preformance goes i think it is doing a good job, the air smells much fresher, but i have not had it long enough to know how often it may require cleaning and ect. Ask me after i have had it a few months.
Does the job, but has drawbacks
We own two Ionic Breeze Quadra air purifiers which are over 12 years old and were reconditioned when we bought them. They are silent, and lightwieght and easy to clean but are no longer made. This product cleans the air as well as those, but is very heavy and bulky, and is far from silent. Fan levels run from 1 through 10, plus maximum. It is only silent at 3 and below. At 7 and above it is very loud. Also, although it does fit in the dishwasher to clean, we have to put it in pur standard size dishwasher in precisely the right spot and remove the silverware section. This product cleans the air well, but has drawbacks which the former models did not.
Working good
I bought this to replace the Ionic Breeze I bought 8 years ago. One of the things I liked about the old one it that it was quiet, you didnt know it was on. With that said this one is not quiet, the fan makes noise although it is not loud for a fan. I dont have to clean it as often as the old one so that is a plus. It is twice as large as the old Ionic Breeze too so finding a place for it was a little harder. Aside from that I like it. I noticed the fresh air smell with-in an hour of plugging it in with the fan on low. Because the fan speed is adjustable the noise can be kept down for those who want silence in the room when sleeping. For larger rooms turn the fan up to keep the air clean.
This is I want another one.

I kept one in each level of my house , have an older model over 15 years ago , still working , very low maintainance , just clean the stainless filter when get dirty a few times a year , I know someone who used to have untolerable rotten dead rat smell and male strayed cat sprays in the house they couldnt find where the location to clean , and some stinky expel gas from some people , this ionizer get rid of all those smells fast , I moved many times , always bring this air purifyer with me , the new one I get today is much heavier and bulkier ..dont know how much better can it be though

I had the older ionic breeze + loved it. Worked for 15 yrs. this model is heavy, loud, blows cold air out into the room so that it is freezing in the winter.
The biggest problem is that it isnt efficient- I have lots of dust blowing around in the house but no dust on the filter.

I had bought an "Ionic Breeze" 10 years ago at the Sharper Image store in Tulsa. I loved that machine and the smell it emitted, like the air after a thunderstorm. It broke down and I couldnt find where to send it for repair, since this was when Sharper Image was going through transition.
I still had the smaller "Nightlight" that came with the "Ionic Breeze." I plugged it in and there was that old familiar, clean smell. Thats when I decided to order this new machine.
This one doesnt emit the "fresh air after a thunderstorm" smell. This is more of a "medicinal" smell, not the negative ion emissions that Ive enjoyed from various machines for over 30 years.

Didnt get what I paid for
You pay almost $400 and you expect to get what you paid for, not for this unit though. While it purifies the air, I ended up using it only once. First, it gets dirty pretty quickly. Cleaning is a mess and doesnt get rid of all the dirt because of the wires in this design. After cleaning it and drying it, it makes an annoying hissing and crackling sound. They tell you to wait for it to dry. After 5 days of air drying, it still does this sound. Finally, after it started working again, a burning smell came out of the unit and the filter turned out to be melting. So, [$] for only one use, is completely ridiculous.

buyers should be told to down the operations manual and read it before buying the product, so they know it will work in their situation. I bought the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier with out first reading all of the operations manual when I got the units and read the manual I found out it could not be used when oxygen was being administrated, my wife is on oxygen at night. The air purifier must be turned off at night and not used in the bedroom.
Replaced an old one
I use this 24-7. Replaced another Sharper Image ionic air cleaner that lasted about 10 yrs also ran that one 24-7. The old one was totally quiet, this one makes white noise but you get use t it. A little worried about cleaning because I dont have a dish washer. Good thing is I have been running it about a month and still haven had to clean it yet.

This product works great to clean the air. We live on a golf course and I can tell the difference in the reduction of dust. We live in a condo so the rooms are not as large as most so it does stand out. Wish I could put it in a corner but it does have to be out 24 inches from the wall.

Fresher Air at last!
I live in WDC in an old apartment block where ventilation is not as good as I would like, and we have some issues with smokers. Also much construction in the area which creates tons of dust in the air. I bought two of these, one for my bedroom and one for my lounge, to help with these concerns and I am very pleased with the results. The air in my apartment seems so much fresher and cleaner now. Quiet And Simple To Use
I use this product to keep the house smelling clean and fresh. I dont have to use artificial air freshners. I dont have to burn any candles or incense. Therefore, I dont have to depend on products that can be harmful to my health. It is quiet and so simple to use. I dont have to constantly clean it. Just turn it on and forget about it. Enjoying cleaner air
I am truly delighted with this product. I was sceptical at first but with down drafts from my chimney causing my living room to smell like a hunting lodge I was desperate. I plugged the unit in near the fireplace and within minutes the room smelled like a spring day! I purchased another ion devise from another company to compare the two but there was no comparison and the Sharper Image was clearly superior. I use it in my home office as well and there is a definite noticable difference in the quality of the air when you enter the room. It feels fresh and energized.
Great Product...short life
I love this product. I was able to get off some allergy medication after using in my bedroom. Ours died after 2 years and was so costly to replace. Wish it had a better warrenty for high price point.
my second ionic product
a great product for air quality in the bedroom for sleeping comfort. This unit makes more noise than my previous Ionic Breeze product. The speed controls are very user friendly. The filter is more difficult to clean than was the filter in the Ionic Breeze and the drying time is longer. The unit is heavier than the Ionic Breeze; I hope that eqates to larger capacity,cleaner air and longer interval between filter cleaning.
Pleased with past product (Ionic Breeze) that stopped working after several years that I replaced with this Ionic Comfort equipment.
The Good and the Not So Good
Due to having various seasonal and environmental allergies, we have used an Ionic Breeze with great success for many years. When our old machine finally broke down, I had no hesitation in purchasing a new one. The new Ionic Comfort is solid and durable, with an easy to use control wheel and a light to indicate that the machine is on. The removable permanent filter is easy to access behind a door at the top of the machine.
There are a couple of things that I preferred more about my old machine, which was fairly lightweight and absolutely silent when on. This new and improved model is quite heavy, and it makes a noticeable noise when running. While the filter is easy to access, it is a bit unwieldy to remove and clean, unlike the Ionic Breeze. This wouldnt be practical for us to use in a bedroom.
This product is by far worth its price.
This was a gift for my Daughter & Son in Laws house. As they opened it & turned it on they began to smile! Two days later she called Exclaiming MOM! This thing is GREAT. Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
The purifier is taller than I wanted and it is on the loud side, but the air in the room is 100% cleaner....theres a fresh smell to the air. Great to freshen up the camper for the new season, if you have a musty smell in your basement or have pets.

The fall allergens have been brutal this year. We bought two of these air purifiers - 1 for the living room, and 1 for the bedroom. What a difference they have made! We noticed a remarkable improvement in air quality within minutes, and our stuffy noses opened. The only con is that we have had to wash the air filters at least once per week, and it takes quite a long time for them to dry, as they tend to hold water. Other than that, it is fantastic.

Replaced old one
I use this ionic cleaner 24-7. My old one lasted around 12 yrs. Would have liked to have it in black like old one. Havent cleaned it yet, dont have a dishwasher and it looks more complicated than old one. Works great though and other reviews said it doesnt need cleaned as often.

Whisper quiet, good flow of fresh air
I had an Ionic Breeze for many years and loved it, but the newer Ionic Comfort Plus is much better because of the improved air flow. Its a little more complex to clean, but makes up for it by cleaning more air per minute and getting a room smelling fresh very quickly.

Bought 2 of them
The boxes arrived in perfect condition and the air purifiers were well-packaged. We purchased 2 of these units for use at our dusty 2nd home, which is located in the Arizona desert off a dirt road. I unpacked them and easily set them up in the master bedroom and the study. I left them running on a medium high rate for a week and noticed a decrease in the amount of dust when I cleaned, so they seem to be doing what I intended them to do.
My only complaint is that they are a little noisy on speeds over 4 or 5 (and the speed goes up to 10). It is so quiet in our house that I needed to turn the bedroom one down to 2 at night in order to sleep. (but I need complete quiet and complete darkness to have a good nights sleep, so this probably wouldnt be an issue for most people). The sound of the one in the study didnt seem to bother my husband.
I havent cleaned the "filter grid" yet, so I cant comment on the ease of doing that.
After years of waiting, I found THE ONE
Ive wanted an air purifier for years but was always turned off by the replacement filters, cartridges etc... This unit is so easy to clean, you just put the filter in the dishwasher. Even on high its relatively quiet. I run it 24/7. I have 3 cats and my brother, who usually goes into a sneezing fit upon entering my home, has said hes less irritated by the cats. I like it so much I got the compact version for my office.

Purchased to replace a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze which served me well for many years. I receive specialist care for allergies/asthma/COPD and cannot live comfortably without a Ionic Air Purifier that really works. Before finding this one I purchased another brand (not cheap either) which did NOT work to keep the air clean for my breathing. Im back to purchase another unit for my FR.

Bought these to replace my old Ionic Breeze which I loved but couldnt use any more because they had become too noisy. Slightly noisier than the old model because of the fan running all the time but not bothersome. Seems to clean the air just as well or better. Only complaint is the cost. Yes, its in line with other top of the line air cleaners but purchasing 3 for the house still hurts! Maybe they should have a volume discount. Would absolutely recommend these to anyone with allergies. Saves me from having to take antihistamine at all!
The absolute best!!
I have purchased 8 over the past three years for two houses. All have performed absolutely perfectly. I accidentally purchased two from a strong competitor, and they are not close to me gr same quality, are awkward to carry (these are extremely easy to carry), and dont do the same quality job. So easy to toss in dishwasher to clean, which isnt necessary very often once they get your air cleaned initially. Best of all, they make a huge difference in the quality of your indoor air, and that is why we had purchased so many for our two large homes. Awesome!

Just Great So Far
OK - Ive only had the product for about a week so my review is based on a short time span. Certain things havent come into play yet - such as cleaning, allergies, or any long term claims But I do want to comment on some of the negative reviews that I can speak to. Some said it was bulky - but I had no trouble carrying it upstairs or moving it around. Perhaps some wheels might improve it - but I dont see it as a problem for anyone of average strength. And some said it was noisy, but I have it set at the rather high level of 7 and its still quieter than my old machine on the lowest setting. In fact, I had to turn it up to 7 to get even close to the white noise I prefer. And if it actually cleans as easily as claimed - itll be a huge improvement over the difficult and messy job of my old air cleaner that also required expensive new filters. And the sir does smell clean.

Used in bedroom for better sleeping at night. Can breath better with it on. Very quiet.
Much better than the original
Within minutes on turning our unit on the air in the room smelled fresher. After half a day, it was much easier to breathe, allergy symptoms seemed to lessen. It is a major improvement over the previous generation. Only downside so far is the very thin wire on the filter, it is incredibly thin and flimsy. A bit afraid to wash the filter in the dish washer as shown because of it. Also afraid of durability, as the two wires it replaced in the previous model broke on us.
It has noise
It has a noise even when it is brand new and clean, although my coughing seemed improved. The 1st and 2nd generations are lighter and do not have noise, while this newer generation is heavier and has a noise. It is all right when it is used in the family room with TV on, but you definitely will notice the noise with TV off or in the bedroom. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the noise. I have used this newer generation for 2 days and have not washed it yet, so I do not know how easy the washing/drying is. For the older models, the washing is easy, but I need to vacuum both the outside and inside of the case as well. I think that the vacuum may apply to this newer model as well.

Right now we are using the Ionic Breeze in the bedroom. In a matter of hours, we noticed that the quality of the room air was enhanced. In addition, the unit is quiet and smooth running, and is well constructed. The profile of the unit is such that it takes up only a small space on the floor. The Ionic Breeze is a good investment.
Breathe Easier
Since we have allergies and live on 6 acres of woods with trees as tall as 100 ft., we get lots of pollen, and oak leaf mold. We need extra filtering to help us breathe easier and have a better quality of life. Having two of these have made a remarkable difference. We have one in the great-room and the other in the bedroom. They were worth every penny.
Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
I have had versions of the Ionic Comfort for over 10 years. I liked my original the best. This one has an annoying low hum when the unit is functioning on low and a loud fan on higher settings. (The old unit didnt make much noise.) Also, this unit has a cold and powerful fan which is fine in the summer and not great in the winter. Something else Ive noticed is that this unit doesnt have an ozone filter like prior units have had. This unit also has a very prominent ionizing wire which could get easily broken. That happened to two of my prior units with less conspicuous wires. The original units didnt have these wires in places that could break so easily. Be careful washing this unit! It gets washed in the dishwasher which is precarious with that ionizing wire. (Again, the 10 year old unit was able to be just wiped with a cloth--definitely nicer!) This unit, unlike last years model, does have a way to replace the ionizing wire which can be ordered easily. The most positive thing I can say is that the unit

I smoke, and I have for 15 years two Air Purifiers that worked great, but was time to replace it. I first purchased one. I liked it and several months latter I purchased 2 more. My friends are smokers and they like the way my house dont smell on cigarettes. It save me money in a long run, because I dont have to repaint my house every so often, and I dont have to buy expensive filters. For me is an excellent investment and it works great.

Great ionic air purifier
My dad is a smoker and I needed an air purifier that would get rid of the smell in the house. I have had no luck with other ionic air purifiers, as the smoke smell was still strong in the house, so I decided to give this product a try. The power is very strong and does an excellent job keeping the smoking smell to a minimum. Although a bit pricey, I would recommend this product!

I used to have old pieces last for 15 years also from sharp image. Now, I replace another 2 new pieces. New air purify the power stronger than before, but it sounds more noisey than old pieces. May be the motor of the fan. I like the shape and the light color.
Breathe easy
I use the two Sharper Image air purifiers in my home to clear the air. I had two of the older models but they malfunctioned after years of use. I started using Sharper Image purifiers when my wife was still living to clear the air as she was a smoker. I still have one of the smaller older model. I firmly believe that I am so accustomed to purified air that when the older ones malfunctioned I started to sneeze more. I like this newer model as it as ten different speed settings.

Air is noticeably cleaner and allergic reactions to pet dander and hair have decreased.
The air "filter" assembly is supposed to be washable in the dishwasher. This is difficult to do given the size and construction. Ive tried rinsing and soaking in soapy hot water, but without the extra zip of the dishwasher, it does not come very clean.
I highly recommend this product to anyone with allergy related clean air concerns in their home.
Good but not as good as Ionic Breeze
The Ionic Comfort is a good product, but when compared to the Ionic Breeze (previous model), I am a bit disappointed and not quite sure the price is a good value for what I got. The unit is noisy if turned all the way up to Setting 10, and still very noticeable at Setting 5. We purchased 2 of these to put in our bedroom and both are on the middle setting (5). Eventually, you get accustomed to the noise, but its not nearly as quiet as the Ionic Breeze was.

Disapppointed in Filters
I bought two of this product as I am an allergy sufferer. I had owned 2 ionic pro turbos and have liked them a lot. However, had I known how heavy these new units are, I would not have gotten them The filter gets dirty so fast and makes a terrible sparking noise, Then the filter is so heavy to get out to clean and it takes forever to dry. I would not leave it on if I went out shopping as it seems dangerous.
Sharper Image Air Purifier
I own two units and am very happy with this product. The unit cleans the air, removes smells and is easy to clean. The fan is quiet but you can feel the exchange of air so you know it is working. Blades are easy to clean and NO extra filters to buy.
Not my first rodeo
We purchased four units. Originally, we purchased two units at the store in San Antonio, TX - 10 years ago. They ran for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. One of those finally died. Looking on line for a replacement we discovered Sharper Image was still available. Buying from them again was a no brainer.
I cannot yet comment of durability as weve only had these units a bit over a month.
Cleaning seems more efficient for these newer models but they make a tad more noise than the older models. The older models did not have a fan and made no noise at all. With the fans, the units move more air and move that amount of air quicker.
These units do exactly what they are supposed to do.
If you have allergies or asthma, I strongly recommend these units. My wifes asthma has improved significantly and her need for inhalers has dropped to almost zero in the house. My need for allergy medications has significantly decreased as well.
I would buy this product again.
We like them we are a repeat customer we have 4 cats in the house and it cuts the odor out of the home. We had older versions of the ionic breeze and they broke their wires but they are like 10+ years old.

The Ionic Comfort Air Purifier does all the things that it talks about. I love it. It is right near the bed and it keeps all the pollen and flu bugs out of the air in a room about 12 feet X 12 feet. It does get a little noisy at fan speeds above 7 or 8. For the most part it is as good as its cousin with out the fans.

I suffer from airborne allergies and the ionic breeze easily removes allergens in my living room and dining room. I also use it to de-odorize the kitchen when cooking. Its powerful and is not noisy at all.

I have the older model where the vents are all around it bought it in SLC about 2003 still running strong. One time I had company over when they left I forgot to blow out the jar candle in the kitchen and went to bed, the candle put soot all around the jar my white walls were not effected but my breeze in my bedroom was covered with all the soot, it took several hours of cleaning it and to this day is still running strong when i hear a static noise from the machine i know its time to clean it, this is a great price for this machine, i paid a lot more for mine. You will not be sorry for buying it and you be amazed of all the junk it will collect from the air, love that i dont need to buy a filter for it. Its great for keeping the pollen and other smells from the house.
It makes a sound on # 5.
I have many allergies and needed this product badly. I have it on # 5 and it makes a sound. Is this common? I put it on # 2 and it still makes a sound. I prefer it on # 8 and of course the sound is louder. I love the look of it and the fact that its easy to move around. A friend recommended this product to me. Do you have any advise for me?

We have 2 dogs (lab and German Shep) and a baby on the way. I wanted the air quality to be cleaner and fresher. It does just that! I do notice that it takes a whole day for the filter to dry. It will let you know if its not dry enough when you turn it on (it makes a cracking sound). I wish we had a second filter. We really need a send one for the house but for now we just move around from time to time.

Simply amazing! In waited a few weeks to review to use first. Within first hour, animal smells in the house were eliminated! I was very allergic to a new cat we rescued. Bad! Plus we have two dogs. Thats what lead me to purchase two of these units. Allergies are gone, house smells great. We run them on full speed 24/7. Checked them yesterday and they are barley dirty. Ionic Comfort- we received our new tower 2 weeks ago. Immediately our living, dining, kitchen areas of our home are cleaner. Smells better- fresh. Two filters, I have already washed the main filter once in our dishwasher. This product is very easy to use / maintain. The ozone filter is a little trickier to remove. Just take a minute when you receive it and use a flashlight to see inside the unit from the back how the ozone filter clips in at the top. I used a pocket knife to pop the clip and remove the filter. Once you do it, you will always know how. White was a concern, but it blends in really well with our décor. We will be ordering more for other parts of our house.
The best air cleaner for a smoker
I love this air cleaner so much that Im buying a new one to replace the one that Ive had for over 15 years. It runs constantly in my husbands office as hes a smoker. Its the only, I repeat only air cleaner that doesnt cover up the smell but removes it and runs silently. If you have a smoker in your home this is the only cleaner you should be purchasing.
Ionic Comfort really works
I replaced an old broken Ionic Breeze with another brand that sterilized the air. It didnt work for smells or really clean the air very well. When I saw this unit I replaced the sterilizing unit even though it was not broken. The Ionic Comfort works so well that I noticed the difference in air quality within 2 days. The air was cleaner and my allergies were greatly improved.

I purchased previous ionic breeze purifiers approx 15 yrs ago and 1 of them is still working quite well. That is the reason I came back this time. I trust these will last & perform as the older models. Although I usually do not smoke in my living area sometimes it happens and these purifiers eliminate that odor along with food odors such as burnt frozen pizza... :-) !!! A great purchase.
Our house is in the woods, and a previous smokers house. These machines are larger and do make more noise than others, but what a difference in the air quality. Almost instantly my wife and I looked at each other the following morning after one day of use and we noticed the difference. We plan on purchasing more for other rooms in the future!
Louder than I anticipated
We got this unit because my husband has severe COPD and asthma. Used exclusively in the bedroom and does make a difference in sleeping. Only negative is that it isnt totally quiet like the others we have had. I am a very light sleeper and it does bother me at times.

These Purifiers definitely clear the air
I had the lesser models of Ionic purifiers in every room of our home because we had six cats and two ferrets. We had no smells, hair or dusts in our home. We had a special filter on our ac/heater unit. Every time the technician came to check it, it was always clean and they were surprised.
Worth the price
I loved my old ionic breeze (had 3 of them). Ive tried others but did not do an adequate job. Never felt like I could ever get the filters clean. Saw this new model and thought it was worth a try. Bought two units, one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Love how it performs. Only wish it was quieter when the fan is on high. My work-a-round is to have it on max when I am out of the room and set it to min when I am in the room. Really helped to cut down the dust in the room. Forgot to mention my coughs and sneezes have improved dramatically. Thank goodness! It is definitely worth the investment.

Ionic comfort Air Purifier
I am a smoker so this is run 24/7. Ive had your older models for over 20 years. Lasts along time. I like the fact I dont have to buy new filters. Others would become obsolete and by the time youd need a filter you couldnt find one to fix. Had to buy a new purifier and stock up on filters. I usually have at least 3 running in my house at all times. The price is costly but works wonderfully. Didnt know I could get $200 off the second one or I would have bout two.
clean smell
this is a replacement for an Ionic Breeze that broke a while ago. I have other brands of Ionic air purifiers but non compare to Sharper Image Ionic air purifier so I am finely getting the best back in my house.
You can SMELL THE CLEAN. I didnt even know clean had a smell until an hour or so after I started my breeze in my bedroom. This Ionic Comfort Quadra has surpassed the Breeze.
It is not real heavy but definitely has a stable quality to it that I recognized as soon as I placed it on the floor.
I havent had to clean it yet but I am looking forward to cleaning it in my dishwasher.
The only thing I would change so far is the placement of the cleaning light to the top of the unit.

We have two litter boxes and I use to have an ionic breeze in the room so you could not tell we even had a cat in the house. I wore out the first one after sevel years and when I saw sharper image had it again I promtly bought one. They are also graet to have in the house if you have allergies or asthma.

I now own two of these units. I know they cost more than others, but worth it. I have purchased others and wasted my money. These are very good and clean the air with little noise. I have one in the bedroom and the living room. I have allergies and with these two units, I am feeling great. Do not hesitate to get one, you will be happy. If it makes a crackle sound on you, check the bottom three connect areas for hair or any collection of paritals and make sure they are clean, I use a Q- tip and the noise ends.

I bought total 4 of this newer model. They all have a little noise even at minimum air flow speed and brand new, but they seemed to be functional for the allergy purpose. The noise is not as loud as your home heating system. I wonder whether the little noise will reduce after more usage.

The air is kept nice and fresh. I believe these two air purifiers I have purchased this year has played a big part in keeping me breathing and healthy. I am an asthma and allergy sufferer and usually never make it through a winter without some sort of upper respiratory infection. This winter all good!
ion wires break easily
The machine works extremely well, but the filter requires cleaning every few days. While following the manufactures recondmended method of cleaning by using the dishwasher, one of the ion wires snaped. The machine still works, just not as well. I figured im only a few weeks into my purchase and there must be some sort of replacement filter i could purchase or have mine swapped or fixed, but unfortunately it appears in the warranty area of the sharper image website they will/cannot replace any broken part.... so there is no warrenty, just smoke and mirrors. Good machine, you just have to spend another few hundrded dollars to replace them....ive already purchased 3 and planned on buying 2 more, but not at this point.

I love this unit! It is super simple to use (and clean) and keeps my air smelling great around the clock. Finally - no filters to buy and find. It is built like a tank and simply keeps running and running. I bought Ionic Pro and Honeywell units before and while they were cheaper, they broke down. I love it. I purchased two one for the bedroom and one for the living room. I own a bird with a lot of dander. I have three of the best brand hepa filter systems and still have dust. Mostly Love It
We bought this because we needed a high quality, durable air purifier without filters for our bedroom. We have 3 large dogs and dust/mold allergies and it really does help a lot with both - we can absolutely tell when its not running. The only problems we have is that it is not whipser quite like some of the older/other models without the fans. You can definitely hear it running - its not offensive but it does produce noise and the newer model is very difficult to clean without a dishwasher. Overall its still worth the price.

The last pair of these I bought from Sharper Image lasted and preformed very well for many years. These appear to be even better. The fact that the filters can be cleaned in the dish washer is a major plus.

I have one of these in my bedroom and one in my living room. I also bought one for my daughter. We own a couple of the older model and they still work great. I LOVE these. I cannot say enough about how clean the air smells and after two lung surgeries, that is a comfort.
Its All They Say It Is
I love the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier. There have been a lot of forest fires accross the mountains from us. Now the smokey air has moved into our area. I have asthma and when I am outside I am uncomfortable. When we have visited others homes I also feel it. In our home the air is fresh and clean and I have no problems. Tonight we came home and found one of our dogs had urinated in his crate. It really smelled bad. We washed his blanket and wiped down the crate and turned the air purifier to ten. Within minutes the room smelled wonderful and fresh. This is a great product I would recommend it highly to anyone.

I had the older style design for 20+ years. Works great! Tried other brands but they dont work as well. I like the older designed filters better but it does the same job.
Too noisy

I had the older model prior to this order, so I can do a little comparison. The current model is much larger, which is a con for me.
The filter needs to be cleaned much more frequently. Which is an ordeal. the directions tell you to put it in the dishwasher - ARE YOU KIDDING!! I would never run my dishwasher with just the filter in it. So I clean it by hand. It is tedious to clean. If you clean it under running water, it takes forever to dry. The older model filter was much easier to clean. I purchased this product because it has a reusable filter. I didnt want to hassle with ordering filters & creating more trash. I wish my older model still worked!!!!
Cleans air nicely!
I love how it cleans the air very nicely. Our house has lots of dust and dog fur so this has been great. However, it is noisier than the older version and has a motor vibration when on level 10. I like the older versions motor better.

NOISY
I have the Ionic Breeze that was purchased years ago. It makes NO noise at all, but the air is so clean. I just unpacked the new one, and it sounds like a fan running. Definitely NOT what I was expecting. Will send both back most likely. I guess I could use them in rooms that arent used much or just run them while at work. Disappointed because of the noise.
This product reduced my asthma problems
I use it to control my asthma, and to reduce environmental pollution from 4 long haired dogs. It works great.

Have mulitple pets and this is a great product. I should have known that it was so easy to clean and worked better than all others. I purchased 2 other cheeper brands that didnt work as well and then ultimately purchased this one. The other brands are going to go as "gifts", and Ill keep this one!

Eliminate Heavy Smoke from Smokers Home
I bought two and gave them to my brother who is a heavy smoker. When I walk into his condo now, the air is pleasant and breathable! It doesnt smell of tobacco any longer. One for his downstairs combo livingroom/kitchen, and one for his master bedroom. He runs them on medium all day and its great. Problem with cleaning instructions - says you can wash in your dishwasher. You need liquid dishwashing detergent. Dont do without - as suggested in the booklet! Otherwise, leaves a tobacco smell in the dishwasher that then gets on your dishes! Best to clean every 30 days or sooner if you can - especially for heavy smoker. Have to be very careful taking filters in and out (there is a wire that can be broken). Filters are bulky so they take a lot of room in the dishwasher. Do one filter one week, and the other the next week. If you do have to return for service, you are stuck paying return fees. We had to return because the fans got knocked out of place after putting in after cleaning. Good thing was that instead

Unexpected
I have long been a user of Sharper Image ionic air purifiers and was looking to this one to replace an older version. It is unexpectedly different in the use of a fan and the requirement of space away from furniture, curtains etc. Your sales picture shows the item close to the wall. The instructions say at least two feet away from anything. So it does not tuck away into a corner nicely. Because of the fan it is also unexpectedly noisier than the previous versions. I have not yet tried the cleaning process.

We have 6 of the Ionic Comfort Quadra Air Purifiers in our home. They work well until you cant turn them on and off. The power button has failed on a couple of them just after the 2 year warranty ran out. This makes the units completely useless.

But You also have to the clean the thin wires with a bristle brush like a soft toothbrush. Inbetween I just clean the thin wires every two ro three days along with the metal plate/bars. This procedures keep the unit working fine. I am getting ready to order another one.

I have owned several air purifiers over the past twenty-five years, including ones by Sharper Image. Cleaning is more objective. It is easily moveable and easy on the eye. It is simply the best one I have ever owned. I like it so much, I am buying two more to cover the rest of the house.
For allergy
Due to my allergy, I bought two of the first generation ionic air purifier several years ago. After one of the two broke, I bought two of the 2nd generation couple years ago. Then recently one of the two 2nd generation had problem, so I bought two of this newer model. Some of the reviews stated that the drying time is long, so I ordered two more thinking that I can start using them at different time so that I can have some are in use while waiting for the washed ones to dry. Now I have total 4 of the newer models. They all have a little noise even at minimum air flow speed and even when they are clean and brand new. They are not as quiet as the older models, but for the allergy purpose, they are functional. I will put my older model back to my bedroom once they are vacuumed and rinsed/dried. The newer model can be placed in other rooms or further away from my bed in my bedroom. I wonder whether the noise will be reduced after more usage?

I was eager to try the unit to reduce dust/pet dander from my wood stove and 3 cats.Have used for two months and have noticed 75%reduction in dust accumulation. Also obtained for my office to keep air clean from dust, mold spores, and viruses. So far working well. Air smells fresher and Im very satisfied with the product. Gave it 4 stars, as I am uncertain about durability with only 2 month use.

EATS DUST
I have owned three of the previous version, or Ionic Breezes, and they made my dust allergy seem non-existent. There were claims of ozone problems but I never felt any discomfort in over 10 years of use. This model looks a lot better and isnt as flimsy as the original, and it packs a dust eating wallop! It is not silent as the original and I can only use it on full force when I leave my small apartment.
Great Purifier
I bought 4 of these. They work great! The filters clean great in the dishwasher. My landlady is a heavy smoker so I have a purifier in every room. I have a english springer spaniel and have noticed these work great with the pet dander and I have noticed a lot less dust. These are a great buy because the air we breathe in our homes is very polluted.
Does not remove large air contaminants
I bought 2 of these on the recommendation of a heavy smoker. It did make the air smell nicer and there was black stuff on the filter but it does not remove dust, pet hair, pollen, or any visible air borne particles the way other air purifiers do. It is not a replacement for a HEPA filter or an air conditioner. I used them for over three years then finally bought a traditional air filter. It is true regular air filters are louder and bulkier than this, but they are better. I am really not sure why they are so popular.

I would buy this product again
I have two of the large version - one for our upstairs loft (family room) and one for our downstairs living room. We have an open floor plan and our large version takes care of the entire downstairs. Our grandson has severe allergies and this has helped significantly. He no longer has red, puffy eyes. We have carpeting and wool rugs and 3 cats - allergy heaven. These air purifiers are quiet and efficient. I would use silent ones in the bedrooms. Whisper quiet and silent are not the same thing. Quiet means you can still hear the fans running, but you can adjust the fan speed to your comfort level. The control slides to infinite degrees of operation. I keep mine on 4. They are not bothersome and still clean the air.

A noticeable smell?
I have enjoyed using my new ionic comfort. Yet I still wonder is there is a way to neutralize the ionic oder that builds up. I get used to the smell after a few minutes but still it is noticeable when I walk into the room after an extended period absent.

Our old Ionic Germicide Purifier is better than this one. Youre only allowed one control, Minimum to Maximum. Thats it, you cannot select UV protection, or the like. Cleaning it is not so easy for folks that dont have a dishwasher. Its actually heavy and extremely hard to clean if you do not own a dishwasher! I would not recommend this product for folks like me that have back and neck problems. Its too heavy and bulky to clean. It does, however, clean the air. You can smell the difference quite quickly.

We bought 2 of the ionic Quadra air cleaners. The sleek design made it easy to place the air cleaner in any part of your room. They are so quiet even on the higher speed. I have asthma and allergies. With all of the stuff that this air cleaner takes out of the air I am breathing easier. And best of all.....it takes care of the dust on your furniture which means less work for mama. We liked them so much that we ordered 2 more. We have one in the living room, one in the dining room/kitchen, one in our basement and one in our bedroom. Great machine. product is great but has one flaw, the covers on the top and bottom of the filter element need to drain water easier as it is cleaned by washing in the dishwasher were water enters but does not easily leave. creating long dry times and arching of electricity if not fully dry. this ruined the first one i bought, and causes me to, on occasion, remove the covers myself and dry them by hand to make the unit more quickly useable. other than that, it does clean the air, remove odors, is inexpensive to operate and looks good, although a choice of colors would be nice. and an offering of the old GP hybrid model would have me buying again.

Sadly Disappointed
I had been an Ionic breeze user for years. I loved how it filtered the air in my home and gave me both a naturally clean fresh scent and more oxygenated air. My bedrooms and living rooms smelled fresh and clean. Unfortunately as my former units simply got old and needed to be replaced I bought these ionic comforts and they just do not work as well. The air does not have that mountain fresh smell and I am truly disappointed in their performance.

Clears the Air - Fast!
I live in an older apartment complex and the ventilation system is not great and you can always smell what your neighbor is cooking for dinner. My new neighbor is a chain smoker and the odor was drifting through the vents. I figured it would cost more to move than what I would spend on the Ionic Breeze and I am thrilled with the results. The entire 650 sq ft apt is cleaned in under 10 minutes! I highly recommend this product for anyone who suffers from second-hand smoke allergies. It is so quiet and the gentle humming sound along with the purified air help me get a great nights sleep. I only wish I had purchaed this years ago.

Rather disappointed
I was very pleased with my Ionic Breeze, which finally gave up the ghost after about six years. It was very effective and very easy to clean. So, I bought two Ionic Comforts and have been disappointed in that it is nearly impossible to clean and the main filter is way too fragile for an appliance so expensive. A big disappointment compared to my previous experience.

A Great Appliance
I bought two of these air purifiers as replacements for aging Sharper Image air purifiers that I bought years ago. They arrived promptly and were easy to unpack and set up -- requiring less than 10 minutes each to get into operation.
Since then, they have worked as specified and done a great job.
One of the things that attracted my attention was the ability to clean the filters in the dishwasher, saving time and energy for me. They didnt mention that the dishwasher cannot be using any solutions that reduce spotting after the wash. Since most dishwashers have these dispensers, this reduces my ability to use this feature. Its still a great appliance, but I would have appreciated a little more information prior to the purchase.
Not what I expected
I wish this was not so big and also wish it operated silently as did previous products I had. It is not as easy to place in a room because of its size and the humming sound would be distracting in a work environment.
Accomplished my goal
I purchased two Air Purifiers because the two people who live below me have a death wish and smoke cigarettes 24 hrs/day. I spent over $1,000 trying to seal up the places where the smoke was entering my unit but that was only partially successful. I had an old Sharper Image air purifier but it did not help. These new ones have really purified the air in the rooms where they are placed. They are a little noisier than my old one but not enough to be a problem.

Unfortunately I am a smoker. I also own a dog. I bought two units for downstairs, because smoking upstairs in the bedrooms is not allowed. Although the units can be a slightly noisy (comparable to a box fan) if set on the max setting, it really creates good air flow throughout the area of the house. Elimination of stagnant air is definately a plus. My down stairs is very open and has no specific rooms other than the kitchen. So pet dander and smoke cannot be contained in one room. I bought 2 units and placed them approximately 30 feet apart. I have already noticed a decrease in my allergies, and others have commented that the odor is decreaing. Cleaning is so simple. Just put the filter in the dishwasher. Thats is awesome for me.

Second pair of Ionic air purifiers
These are my 3rd and 4th ionic air purifiers from Sharper Image in the past 20 years- and these are so durable that I would still be using the first two if I could purchase replacement filters for the older models. Im glad to see these new versions no longer have those cheap plastic pieces on the filter unit, that broke off and made them useless (although they still worked with only one of the two pieces!)
I have always kept one purifier in my bedroom and another in the living room- the Quadra in my bedroom can be run on a lower setting of 3-5 and take care of everything, while the one in my living room usually runs around 7. I love the expanded settings of 1-10, so I can easily turn down the filter during quiet times (movies or sleeping) and with a quick turn up, return it to more powerful settings. With multiple allergies, I run these 24/7.
Cleaning the filter is very easy too and after owning a few other models, these machine are FAR AND AWAY the best filters Ive ever seen for handling my allergies

Really Works!!
I just purchased two of these Ionic Breezes. Living in a large colonial home with smokers and dogs, my house didnt always smell nice. It does take a few days of high powered use to clean the air in my home. Now, you wouldnt even know there is a smoker in the house. The units are loud, just like a fan so I tend to run them on high when nobody is around and low when we are in the same room. Well worth the price!

Noisy but it does purify air
I bought two of these. They were very noisy, and they produced so much ozone that was depressing and gave me a headache. I called customer service and was given an option to exchange. They sent me two return labels. I sent them back, and in about two weeks I received two new ones. The new ones made no ozone smell. I kept one constantly on in the living room, and the light stale smell was gone. I put the other one in my study room, and I turn it on a few hours a day, but I dont notice much difference because the room does not smell without an air cleaner. The noise was lower than the first two, but the humming noise was still quite noticeable even from another room. I definitely wont leave it on in the bedroom at night, not in the room next to the bedroom either, because they are that noisy. The stainless steel air filter is obviously collecting black stuff that is a little bit sticky. I think it is collecting more dirt than my previous HEPA air cleaner did. I was always satisfied with my "original" ionic breeze. As a replacement, these units are probably more effective, but the addition of the fan allows noise that is low but discernible. My dog is still becoming adjusted to it.
Replacement for my old Ionic Breeze
My ionic Air Purifier is on all the time. I am allergic to dust, mold and pollen and I live in Vermont. I also burn wood in the winter. The Ionic Air Purifier helps me to control my allergies.
Works very well but there are some issue
I purchased four of the large units. They work very well removing dust from the room and are very quiet ( I use them on setting 3). I was disappointed in two things regarding these units. First the Ozone filter is shown in the instructions as removable and the addnedum for the instructions states it is not removable. A step backward in maintenance. The instructions state you can use a vacuum dusting attachment to clean the filter, however the dusting attachments on both of my vacuums are at a 45 degree angle and wont work. I have to use a static dusting mop to clean the ozone filter. It would have been better if they had kept it removable so you could pull it out, vacuum it off, and put it back in. The Collector is large and does not fit an any of my sinks. The instructions caution on placing it in a dishwasher as it can be damaged. To me it seems they thought of the dishwasher thing and vacuuming the filter as an afterthought instead of testing it out. So I have to fill my bathtub up to wash out

Ive had SI ionic filters of the older design without a fan for 10 years.
These new units with the fans make noise. I like the new filter system but I think the units are too noisy. Im having to return on of the two I bought because there is a blade hitting something and the other unit makes a whirring sound when operating that is noticeable, especially since I have it in the bedroom.
The fan motors and sounds created from the fans should be addressed and eliminated.
I much noise but I would buy more.
The machine works great in a small room but I have a large area and it has to work overtime to cover the area. Need a bigger one. The fan is too noisy. The old unit I had moved air with out a fan but after 10+ years they wore out. Thank you for the units.

By far the best overall product ever
Our family has tried everything to remove damaging particles, as we all have seasonal allergies. My mother especially. This machine allows her to go, for as long as it last, without the runny eyes and itchy eys. It is a fantastic machine. There is nothing bad about this machine, it saves her and us visits to the Doctor in dealing with our allergies.
Quiet
I bought 2 of the Ionic Quadras as I have asthma and some allergies. They are so quiet that you dont even know that they are running.....even on the higher settings. The sleek design makes it easy to put in any location of your room. We liked them so much that we bought 2 more. I also liked that you didnt have to buy all of those replacement filters. The stainless steel filter can be washed in your dishwasher or in your kitchen sink. Great product.
Got rid of litterbox smell
Even though the litterbox is in the garage, we still get lingering oder in the house. Plugged this into the hallway and now, no more odor.
I also like seeing how dirty the filter gets. Lets me know how much gunk is in the air that I am no longer breathing.
It does work great
I have allergies and also live in a polluted city (Mexico City). Bought 4 air purifiers to cover all apartment area. Allergy problems are gone. When cleaning the filters is when I can see that they really work, all dirt and pollution that comes out is impressive, a lot of very fine black dust.

more purification, a bit louder
The Ionic Comfort purifier designs have changed over the years, and this newer version is a lot more powerful than the older ones, but louder, especially if you put it on the highest setting. It filters the air very well, and the fact that you can adjust the purificiation level setting means that you can turn it off, and then put it on the highest setting to start the process again. I use it in my home office, and the air quality is great. I highly reccomend it for the durability, filtration, and price.

I would buy another Ionic Air Purifier
I enjoy clean air and knowing this machine will get smoke smell, dust, dander, viruses, germs etc. out of my home. I live in an area with some of the dirtiest air around. People constantly burn garbage, yard refuse, etc. This will come in very handy in spring and fall when neighbors burn this stuff instead of putting into garbage pickup.

We smoke in the house occasionally and this takes away all odors! Plus Im a huge cooker and baker and although we enjoy the smell of home cooked meals I really prefer just a clean smelling home, and this unit removes all odors plus cleans the air! We have not been sick one day! It seriously does everything it promises to do PLUS its a forever filter! All you have to do is wipe it clean or put it in the dishwasher and you never have to buy another accessory for it! Money well spent!
Amazing
Tried it out in my friends house where she lives With 3 dogs and a cat. With in an hour the pet smells began to disappear. Shes now keeping it and Im going to buy another. Should have bought 2 in the first place to save $$

exactly what I was looking for
I dont expect any plug in or portable air purifier to get everything, but I am the one who does all the dusting and suffers from allergies and its helped a LOT. I have a cat and dog as well, so this was a great investment. It is a little noisy when turned on hi, but I just turn it down when Im in the room and up when Im not home.

A little noisier than the Ionic Breeze I had years ago. The ionizer wire broke the first time I tried to clean it; customer service was very good and sent a new wire immediately.

I loved it until I washed it. Followed the instructions for cleaning, but would not quit making a horrible noise after cleaning. Replaced it and am waiting to try to clean it again. If it does the same thing, Ill return it.

I had purchased several of the original model and was very pleased. Used them at home and business. This one was not nearly as good .
Ionic Comfort Quadra
Had two of these about 20 years ago for my daughters allergies. Bought these for myself this time. Love the new filter design and the fan to draw air in. Very quiet to operate. Will need to get another 2 so that they can cover our great room size. If there is a downside, that would be it - they are only good for 400 sq. feet apiece. I am really hoping they also keep the dust down. We live in the southwest and dust is the bane of my existence.

Quality product
I knew this was going to work great since before I purchased it, my mother has had some version of this for I believe now near a decade! It works great. I keep it set at about seven or eight higher than that and it gets loud, at seven or eight its a rather gentle hum and easily ignored unless your house or apartment is dead silent. We dont have a dish washer so its a bit less convenient to clean it, but Ive taken to filling the bath tub up a ways adding a bit of dish soap and use a soft bristle dust brush to agitate the filth off, which living so close to the Mexican boarder there is plenty of filth in the way of pure air pollution and dirt in the air! yes dirt not dust and top of that add to small dogs which track in even more. And this has performed wonderfully, cleans the whole apartments worth of air. and we have a fairly large apartment at about 1200 sq.ft. dust isnt an issue any longer and my girl friends allergies are almost completely vanished!

I found that I had to push the power button many times to turn on and off the air purifier. I have to clean the filter often or else it will make a noise like a bug zapper. On full power, its not that quiet. It emits a strange odor. The "ozone" filter is supposed to help, but it doesnt do enough. With all that said, I have noticed a considerable notice in the reduction of dust in the house. This household has two cats and one dog, so there is always a lot of dust.

Cleans the air well
I like how the purifier cleans the air. I have noticed less dust around the house. We have two dogs and carpet. This has helped.
One negative I have notice is that it makes the air drier. We have one in our bedroom and I have woken up in the morning noticing how dry the air is. We now turn it off before bed and turn on the humidifier. This could be to the fact that we live in the desert and this makes the already dry air worse.

I bought a pair of these units over 15 years ago. They have lasted until now and worked great. I again have purchased a pair. These units are larger and somewhat heavier but seem to work well. Having actual fans move the air well. They are a little louder than l expected but with the easy controls ( fan speed ) thats not a problem.
I have one unit in my bedroom and the other in the the family room. The fact that the filters can be placed in the dishwasher is a very large plus.

I smoke and cook. The previous version without the fan I have used for years. Picky non-smoking people come to the house and believe I have quit smoking and not cooked in ages. I think the fan is a little loud on this one - I like the silent running version better but it does the job. My house is odorless.

This is my second purchase of Ionic air purifiers. I bought two of them in 2002 and they lasted until June of 2012. Hope this one lasts that long. Love the purifier.

Not as quite as I thought it would be!
I tried to use 2 units in our den/kitchen area that is open. Just didnt do what I was made to believe. The older unit my sister-in-law has had for 10+ yrs is awesome. Works great in the bedrooms so definatly satisfied with product, just changed location!
Quiet, slim and powerful
We remodeled our house and felt dust months after done. We bought 2 of these air purifiers and switched around the rooms in the house. The air feels fresh (with the built-in fan) and they collect a lot of dust for us.
This helps with alergy problems
The filter is large so it is hard to find a container large enough to cleen the filter in. The manual says to put it in a dish washer. it is to large to fit in a dish washer.
Bigger than I thought
I had 2 ionic breeze for over 10 years but both quit working a couple of weeks ago
I ordered 2 ionic air purifiers which I received 3days ago. I am not sure if I will keep them as they are about 3 times the size of the breeze, dont fit in the same spot as I had the breeze, you can hear the fans and only come in white. I dont know as of yet if they work as well as the ionic breeze as I have not checked to see what the filters are picking up. If they get dirty like the breeze did (which I loved as I didnt even hear them unless they were dirty) I will keep them if not I kept the boxes and plan on returning them as I have 60 days .

I have only had this a few weeks, but so far, so good. The unit does everything that it claims and it appears to be well made. I have not needed to clean the filter yet.

Unit needs to be cleaned too frequently. Cleaning is a bit cumbersome. But, its functioning level is very, very good.
Mixed feelings
To wash the filter (a large metal insert) you need a hose or large sink. This makes washing upstair units difficult. The filter catches do not clean completely after time. It would be nice to have them clean like the original Ionic Breeze that had only to be wiped by hand.

ionic Comfort works well for smoke
This product has a fan which can be turned from low to high. I like how the low settings do not cool a room down too much. We use it in the winter to help get rid of the smoke smell produced from our wood burning stove, and it would be silly to cool down the house.
The biggest downside is that it is supposed to be located 2 feet from any wall or furniture which kind of puts it out in the room more than Id like.

I placed it on living room approx. 350Sf. It is enough powerful to purify living room air and removed all cooking smell from kitchen very shortly. Everythong is great, but little noisy when I set on 10.

The two units I purchased are in the bedroom and exercise areas of the house. The air quality has improved noticeably and the flow of air from the units is rapid at medium and medium high speeds. The units are very attractive in color and design. The one drawback is the noise produced by the fan, not so much the motor, but the rush of air. Our other air purifiers from Sharper Image had a natural flow of air produced by the ionic exchange without the aid of a fan. These new ones distribute air much more rapidly with the use of fans at variable speeds. This is a major plus.

Ionic Comfort Quadra Air Purifier
I am tired of dusting all the rooms in my house after so many years, so I decide to put one in every room. I have 5 of this in my house totally, one is from other brand. The difference between other brands one and Sharper Images is Sharper Images has one more honeycomb filter in it, so I believe it will attracts more dust from the air. So far every is so good, I am very pleased with them. The only thing is you need to handle with caution when you clean it.

I purchased this unit 12 years ago for my roommate who had cancer. I still have this machine. Im sensitive to smells & I have allergies. I purchased 2 more machines to cover my living room & kitchen. Had one of the older Air Purifiers that finally bit the dust, so to speak, and got such good service from it just decided to keep the same brand. The one I had was no longer available. These are just as good as the old ones were.

With forced air heat, dust is a nightmare. This thing collects so much that the furniture doesnt look like it needs dusting for 2 weeks instead of every other day! I knew it would be great because my daughter has had one for years in the room with her 3 birds and it collects tons of the bird dander. I wasnt going to risk spending money on another brand that might or might not work well. If youre looking for cleaner air, this is the one.

i bought the ionic breeze because my daughter been having these cough spells. Thinking this might work because i assess her problem to be an allergic reaction. anyways, the product looks cheaply made. too expensive for a fan. should have different colors. had to clean the filter way too often. created an ozone smell to the house.

I have serious animal allergies, and these air purifiers make it possible to co-habitate with dogs. Ive owned two of the ionic breeze units for twelve years now that I purchased when an apartment manager was unable to get a previous tenants cigarette odor out of my apartment. They did the job in two days. When I recently moved into my sisters home with her two dogs, we bought two of the Ionic Comforts to provide more air cleaning in her large home. I didnt read the description well enough and didnt realize that the units had fans.

Very good air purifier
I bought two of these to replace the two that I bought 9 or 10 years ago. The original products did a great job and these have taken over where they left off. I am a pipe smoker and I have friends who smoke Black and Mild Cigars. These purifiers work great. I have not washed the filters yet, but I will probably have to hand wash them because I use a drying agent in my dishwasher.

This seems to be the best out there for the price. No filters to buy. Cleaning is a breeze in dishwasher. Fan is a little noisy on high. Tried many store bought ones and were very disatisfied. We had an older ionic breeze and loved it. This model seems to work well for us.

This product is 10# heavier than the 6 older Sharper Image GP germacidal protection air filters I have. Too heavy to easily move. I had to return them for that reason. I use my older ones constantly in 2 different homes and they are great. Wish the new ones were lighter. The concept of being able to put the filters on this one in the dishwasher is great.

Best Air Purifier ever
I had a older version of the Ionic Breeze which I had for 10 years and it just wasnt doing the job any more. I have severe allergies and this new Machine is the best investment I could have made for my health. It covers my entire master bedroom suite and is quiet and keeps the room clean and fresh and free of allergens.
I am sleeping much better and i love the design and ease of use this product provides out of the box set up and running immediately.

They advertise this as silent - silent it aint! It makes a buzzing/wizzing sound even on the lowest setting, so it cant go in the bedroom. On the highest setting its as loud as any stand alone fan. And lastly, its so heavy - It must weigh about 10 lbs!

We have had Ionic Breeze products in our home for over 10 years. The oldest products we had in our home decided to retire. The purchase of these 2 new Ionic Products was a must. Other than being a bit noisier than the older ones we are very happy with the way they are working in our home.

I use the two air cleaners near the furnace air returns and I love the quiet sound and sweet smelling air they provide. They are heave and bulky to move around but are very well made!!
Cleaning filter
The unit sparks when it needs to be cleaned. This occured after 3 days of use. Cleaning the filter was difficult because of the wires between the surfaces to be cleaned. The next time I used the dishwasher as suggested and I used the heated dry cycle. It still took 2 days for it to dry compleatly. My old Ionic Breeze was a lot easier to maintain.

So Far, It Does The Job
This is the third of these units I have owned. The other two were the previous model. Since I have been using it for about a week, it is impossible to give it any long term ratings; however, it seems to be doing its job of cleaning the air in my bedroom. It seems to be the only such device suited to the job at hand. The rest are just fans and filters. Its a bit expensive but if it works it will be worth it.

I am very happy with the product. My wife was sneezing A LOT and since we purchased this unit it her sneezing has been reduces by about 90%. If i had to give a negative comment I would have to say that if you plan on running it full blast then it takes some time to get used to the smell (like after a Lightening storm)
Too loud, too big, too heavy!
I was disappointed with this product, because I had such good luck with the Ionic Breeze in the past (until they would stop working after only 2 years..!); but they were silent and lightweight. This model is super heavy, super loud (even on lowest setting it sounds like a noisy motor), and its really too big for a small bedroom.

Effective Air Purifier - A mess to clean
This product is very powerful and effective. You can feel the difference in the air you breathe and the cleanliness of the environment in the room. If you are an avid cook like myself and your tiny kitchen is open to your living room, this air purifier will suck the smell of cooking like a professional range hood.
Now for cleaning the filter, Ill give it a D. First, I dont like cleaning it in my dishwasher. Im not comfortable washing my dishes after the germs have been washed from this filer. Even if I was OK with it, the filter doesnt fit in my dishwasher rack without cutting some of its strings. So, I end up washing it by hand which is very tedious and messy and you cant get it clean enough even after your fingers are full of cuts and scraps. Sinking it in a tub or bucket doesnt take care of cleaning it completely either. Also, you have to wait for couple of days for the filter to completely dry. I dont dust as often as I should, and we have 4 cats. After we got the 2 new cats my husband started having almost constant sneezing attacks the minute he walked in the house. Even ramping up my dusting schedule didnt help, so I ordered two Ionic Comfort Air Purifiers - one for downstairs and one for Hubbys den. We had had Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers for years and hadnt replaced them when they finally died. But since weve gotten the Ionic Comfort purifiers his sneezing has almost stopped completely. The house smells better and theres less dust. Plus they are so easy to clean - the main component goes into the dishwasher! And they come with ozone filters so its out of the box, plug in and let them do their think.
Clean but noiser than previous models
I bought two and currently own a much older model. I have allergies so I want my air as clean as possible. It definitely keeps the air clean. Having used an older model, though, I became used to the ionic "smell" they tout as less than pleasant, but I liked it because I knew my air was clean when I smelled it. I miss it. The other drawback of this model vs. prior models is the noise. The older models make practically no noise at all, this one is extremely loud. Im not sure I could use this one in a bedroom and leave it on without turning the cleaning capability to a low setting. Although I would recommend this product because of its excellent air cleaning capability, it would be with the above caveats.
Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
This purifier works great. The only problem is the filter grid has to be cleaned quite often. This requires throwing it in the dishwasher and then waiting for a number of hours for it to dry before you can put it back into the unit. During that wait, my purifier is just sitting there not being used. If you have allergies like myself, you can tell it just sitting there too. BUT, while its running, I can breath easily and have no allergies popping up bc of low quality air. Great purchase, just need to look into buying a spare filter grid so I can switch them for cleaning and the unit continues to run. It does get noisy at higher speeds, but I use that as a sleep aid anyway.

Air Perfection!
Within an hour of plugging the Purifier in the "pet" smells in my living room disappeared. So much better than using air fresheners or other sprays to coverup odors. I bought 2 more the next day! Now I have 3 in the house. My only disappointment is that it doesnt come in more color choices. White looks great in my kitchen, but stands out too much in my living room.

This unit is quiet and keeps my allergies to our furry family members under control. We are so happy we got two when they were on sale. We ran them all month and didnt notice any change in the electric bill. Knowing the filter can be cleaned and re-used is a huge bonus, too. Would like to have an extra filter to install when cleaning dirty filter but I was told I could order an extra filter. Dont like to leave it of for 24 or 48 hrs. While drying. Bummer

This version is better than its previous version (Ionic Breeze from the original Sharper Image) You can smell that the is truly clean in your house. This version is quieter and needs cleaning less often. (Average 90 days) The core cells in this unit is easier to clean and a more condensed package. If you have animals, respiratory issues, smokers nothing compares as we have tried several others from top names Hunter, Oreck etc. Its even great with strong cooking odors..onions, fish etc. We purchased two one for the lower lever of our home and on for the upper level. Take advantage of one of the online deals, this is an investment in your home less expensive models do not give you the same results.

We use one in the living room and one in the bedroom. They really do work well. The main obvious things that they do are keep thje dust down and get rid of cooking smells.
Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
I bought two of these, one for each side of my house. Shortly after tuning them on, the rooms suddenly had a "clean" smell to them. I keep them running 24/7. I bought them with the idea to help my sons alergies. After 2 weeks, I still have not needed to clean the filters. I am very happy with them.

I have year round allergies and cant go without one. This is the best purifier I have found. I now own three.
Better Than Expected
I was hesitant on buying this product after owning an air purifier product that was excellent but very pricey. I have owned many air products to only be disappointed after using them. I read the reviews of others and decided to try these and I have not been disappointed. My present air purifier wore out after many years of use and abuse and it is very pricey to replace and more complicated to clean. I have been using the Ionic Comfort product for two weeks and have not been disappointed with the air quality they provide. I dont believe anyone will ever own a completely silent air purifier, however, these are very quiet compared to others owned and that is running them on high on a daily basis. I have not had to clean them yet, but if all it takes is placing the filter in the dishwasher, I will be delighted. I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy this product again.

AWESOME! I love it. My son has allergies to dogs and dust mites. We have 2 dogs that we have had for 11 years and just found out he was allergic to them. So before getting rid of them we decided to get an air purifier for his room to see if it would help so we wouldnt have to get rid of the them. It has helped him so much that we get to keep the dogs. He is not nearly as congested since getting it. I have 2 ionic breezes as well. The ionic comfort is so nice because you can clean the dirty part in the dishwasher and its cool to see how much stuff is in the air.........so you can see how well it works.
NOISEY AFTER RUNNING THREE WEEKS.
I think if this was running quietly I would purchase another...However it is quiet only on low and it is in a room 400 square feet. When my son smokes it does not immediately eliminate the smoke smell, but will clear the air within an hour.

I really love this product.I can tell a huge difference.The only con is they are so long I can only put one in my dishwasher at a time to clean and they come out of the dishwasher really wet you need to wait the time the direction say or do I like do,I have my husband use his air compressor to dry them out

Good for my daughters health.
My daughter was born with sinus challenges, and has struggled with breathing through her nose since she was born. This year became very tough for her. We live in Montana - in the Bitterroot Valley. We spent 3 months in a smokey valley this year. The air quality hovered between hazardous and very unhealthy. I kept my two year old daughter inside to try to keep her safe. The smoke was so thick it would fill up our dryer through the vent hole and seep in to the house, and she got very sick with both ear and sinus infections at the same time. I came home from the doctor and immediately ordered two Ionic Comfort air purifiers for quick delivery. Her infections cleared up and MORE! Shes sleeping QUIETLY AND PEACEFULLY with her mouth shut and breathing through her nose as I write this review...something that didnt happen easily before we got the air purifiers. Her health and rest were worth every penny.

I think it is perfect, except that on Low it is not completely silent like the previous Ionic Breeze, but I still am glad I got two of them and use them in different rooms.

Replacement of our original Ionic Breeze
We purchased this as a replacement for the original Ionic Breeze we had. It is used in a home in an agricultural environment, with dust and pollen being a major factor. Also, there are smokers in the house, with windows closed all of the time due to the dust and pollen outside. This replacement of the original Ionic Breeze has, so far, surpassed its counterpart in keeping the living environment clean and free of dust, pollen and smoke. One can even smell the freshness in the air from this product. It lasts longer between cleanings than the original... which is time saving. It is a bit larger and heavier than the original and needs to be on the floor rather than a table but, it fits quite nicely where we placed it. We were very happy with the original Ionic Breeze and this updated version has, so far, met all of our needs.
One of our top purchases of all time
We bought two Ionic Comforts; one for the livingroom and one for our bedroom. We have both wood and carpeted floors. Before, when the sun would shine through the windows, unbelievable amount of particles could be seen suspended in the air. We seem to constantly have sinus headaches and congestion. The first day after turning on the Ionic Comforts, no particles can be seen floating in the air anymore. Our headaches have subsided and we feel much better. I had to clean the units after 7 days of 24 hour per day use. Our only complaint is that on the top setting of 10, the unit fans are quite noisy. We have found that we can live with a setting of 7 and still clean the air.
Im so happy I found these!
Had a few Sharper Image Ionic Breeze air cleaners that I needed to replace so I checked the website and recently bought these two for a beach house. I have them in bedrooms and the air aroma is as if I had the windows open on a crisp autumn day. I generally keep my windows and sliders closed at the beach with the a/c on unless there are days with very low humidity.
Best air purifier ever!
I bought two (2). One pulls air from my greatroom (35 X 17). One pulls air from master bedroom. I was replacing my A/C filter twice a month. Since I received these air purifiers, I cant find any dust on the filter yet (almost a month).
Anyone else with asthma should buy the Ionic Comfort air purifier. I have had no asthma attacks (at home) and 1/4 the migraines.

A MUST have
Before I purchased the Ionic Breeze I had other air filters. One was obnoxiously loud and required me purchasing 2 different filters on a regular basis. It had to be taken apart just to change the filter. Because I have allergies to dust and have 4 litter boxes I needed a quality air filter that I could keep on 24/7 so I decided to pay a little more and invest in 2 Ionic Breeze air filters from Sharper Image. It turned out to be one of the best investments Ive ever made toward my health. That was almost 9 years ago and Ive not regretted my purchases for a moment.
The Ionic Breeze is not a gimmick. It does all of what it claims and does so both silently and unobtrusively. My 2 Ionic Breeze units have remained on 24/7 except for when I turned it off to clean the blades once a week and when I moved. After almost 9 years of owning one I can attest for the effectiveness of the IB to remove particulate matter from the air and one of the worse offensive odors-litter boxes.

Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
This unit replaces a smaller Ionic Breeze unit that finally died after six years. I like the fans as it circulates the air much better than the older unit ever did. All the speed settings let you set the noise level to whatever you need. Initially ran the unit at highest speed for several hours to really move the air around to clean the room, now I only run it at level one or two to keep it quiet in the bedroom.

Used daily in our living room. Helps to keep our air fresh living with a Golden Retriever and 2 cats. Leaves our space free of odors 24 hours a day. Love that you can dishwash SS filter!

IONIC AIR PURIFIERS
I ordered 2 Ionic Air Purifiers. One had to be returned due to "Hissing" sounds. Needless to say, it was very inconvenient for me to repack a 22 Lb. item and drop it off for return by Federal Express. So far, I havent been informed that it was received and whether or not a Replacement or Refund will be issued. For that reason, Im disappointed.
Seems to be as described.
Seems to be efficient, is quiet as a whisper on lower settings. The only con I have so far is the cord was tangled and crimped upon arrival Im unable to get the crimp out of the power cord. It does not seem to get warm to the touch so i suppose it is okay.
With all the forest fires this late summer it was a blessing to have my new air filter system to clean the air so i could breath once again.

Product is fine but we received it with no warranty information. A call to customer service resulted in being told the warranty had probably fallen down inside the box. Not true. Could get no other help from "person" we spoke to other than a verbal statement that it was in warranty. Still have no written information re it and have given up on getting any.
I would buy this product again.
We had one for 10 years and it quit work about 6 months ago. We didnt have a choice but to buy another, due to my wife having difficulty breathing. With two smokers and two cats the air was heavy, thick and had an order to it. The Ionic Comfort Air Purifier started helping within a couple of hours of plugging it in. We would also like to get one for the bedroom. Ionic Comfort Air Purifier is well worth the price!! My in-laws also bought one after visiting our home.
Good product for cleaning the air, but
This product does a good job in cleaning the air of dust, cooking odor,etc. However, it is very noisy. My husband and I are having a hard time adjusting to the noise.

The filter is large so it is hard to find a container large enough to cleen the filter in. The manual says to put it in a dish washer. it is to large to fit in a dish washer.

Bought the first one for myself for usage in the Living room where I spend much of my time. Recently purchased 2 more as my Wife came down with COPD. One for the Family room where she spends her time and the compact unit for our bedroom. It is Quiet, easy to operate and clean the filter, attractive looking. The price may seem a little high to some but anything I have ever purchased from Sharper Image has lived up to the advertisement. I rated this 4 stars as I find it very hard to call anything Perfect, although this seems close.

Ive owned the old Ionic Breeze but I neglected it badly and havent been able to replace them until now. While the product weighs a bit more, being able to run the filters through the dishwasher is a real plus. The fan is somewhat noisier on high but when I go to bed I turn the fan down and its not a problem. I think Im going to like this new edition a lot.

I had an ionic breeze for 15 years. It was the best investment I had ever made. It stopped working after that + there was nowhere to have it repaired as the manufacturer went out of business. I have a filter less version, which is just ok.
The representative told me that this was their best seller, so here we are.... So far after 1 week, I think it is working fine, but I have to keep the setting on 1 out of 10 because the fan is too loud otherwise.
If it works well at this setting then Ill be happy with it. It is also very big, not like the older ionic breeze which was a thinner,sleeker version.

Much Improved airflow
This was a replacement for a 10 year old IONIC Breeze Quadra, which gave off a better smell but would not clean as well as this model. I have owned several air cleaners, The noise at full speed is about the same as a standard HEPA filter. I gave it four stars because i was hoping it gave off a better Ozone smell and was a bit quieter as I run it on high all night long in my bedroom at night. I would recomend this air cleaner to anyone. The controls are super easy and it is the easiest to clean, just put it in the dishwasher and let dry.
Would like 1 for each room
It cleans the air very well. I have one in 2 of my rooms, and I sent my daughter 2 more. It fits well in the dishwasher, but needs replacement ionization wires when they break. When I called for a replacement, I was told they werent available so I had to buy 2 new units.

Too much air blowing out for winter
Clean air was a must for my dad who suffers from COPD. His home smelled musty. Now it smells fresh. I want to leave it on high for maximum results though I may have to turn it down in the winter because those 4fans put out chilly air.

works but louder than expected
we had the prior generation of air purifier and it worked great and was nearly silent. This one is too new to say if it is as efficient. However, it is louder and not good for the bedroom unless you live near a fire station and are used to loud noises at night. i wish i could say it was a hum but its fan noise is not even white noise but irritating when trying to sleep. They say they quieted the fan noise which makes me wonder how bad it was before. We cannot power it up past level 4 out of 10 in any room due to the noise level. The bedroom one has to be turned off when we are in the room otherwise we dont get sleep. I wish my older machines had lasted because they were so much better.

I purchased two of these on the recommendation froma friend. I have them inmy living room and in the back of the house where the bedrooms are. I was able to tell and difference in the air within an hour of plugging them in. My daughter has severe allergies and and we have a dog, cat and bunny in the house. You couldnt tell we have them now unless the power goes out and the units get turned off. I love these!!

Clean Air at Last!
I purchase this product because I live with a couple of CHAIN Smokers. I am allergic to smoke, my throat hurts, my eyes burn and I get slight headache.
In the past I have had the "Quadra Sharper Image" long time ago and I do remember it worked incredibly well.
I did not wanted to spend too much money so I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond the Homedics one for $100 but It did NOT HELP at all! so I decided to go back to this one again...
I realized that I cannot put a price over my lungs and got this fabulous product. it is THE ONLY ONE THAT WORKS in the market. I can not begin to explain how well it works, my room is clean, I do not smell smoke, I do not smell dust, and I sleep very well. Do not get fooled by cheaper devices, the dont work.

Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
I use my Ionic Comfort for air quality control. It does a nice job keeping the room smelling after the rain fresh. My only complaint is that the fan is loud on this unit. I have had both of mine replaced at around a year as they just stopped working. Sharper Image replaced both of them for me.

I like the product, but the filter needs cleaning way too often. You hear the electrostatic zaps between filter changes occasionally.

Many year s ago when SI had stores I bought several of these purifiers (early versions)....they did a remarkable job since I have allergies....one wore out and then I damaged the last one with careless cleaning. I was heart broken because I could not find another product that worked as well as the ones I had....and forget about trying to clean these other purifiers....with several I got it was impossible to really get them cleaned. How delighted I was to find SI on line...I at once order two of the purifiers and the air in my home is cleaner that it has been in years.

Originally purchased for my daughter due to allergies. She stopped sneezing and said she was sleeping better. Purchased 2 more for my bedroom and living room. Love the Ionic Comfort
We use our new Ionic Comfort filters in the bedrooms and only at night. We like the fan because it circulates the air better than the Ionic Breeze did, which did not have a fan, and seem to keep the room cooler. On high, the fan noise is no problem and may even be relaxing. The units have long cards so we like to pull them out into the room at night. My only complaint is this is not easy to do. A suitcase type handle would have been great to have and possible rollers or slides.

Its difficult to write a review after a month or two. It seems to be doing the job. Only time will tell if its durable and continues to function. The website states there is a 3 year warranty, however, there was nothing in the box stating this and no where you could register the product.

Beautiful and efficient
Ordered two and they came very quickly. Put one in bedroom and one in living room. I have allergies to dust, dander and allergens. Within a few days, I could sleep more comfortably and noticed the air quality was better. My daughter came home for Christmas and noticed the good smell in the house. So, she ordered one for her NY city apartment. I like that its easy but so far, we havent had to clean it yet. Hopefully the cleaning process will be easy and not too complicated. My home is clean and now with the two of these working constantly, I know that its even cleaner and has a fresh smell especially in the wintertime when all the windows are closed.

This is my 3rd and 4th air purifier of this model. I have one in my living room and one in my bedroom. I cant live without them! I live in Arizona and have suffered from allergies most of my life. Without these air purifiers I would have sinus infections at least twice a year. These are the best out there.
Comfort Breeze Air Purifier
A purchase I am elated about every day and night! The air in our home is almost drinkable. It is almost hard to believe the difference in air quality. Very easy to clean and the fan control is perfect, even on the high setting. Only wish I had not waited so long to buy the two!

I bought two about two weeks ago, and I am already having to clean the filters. The filter light came on in about a week. Need better instructions on how to clean. Do you leave in the dishwasher through the drying cycle? I do not want to damage it, so I am cleaning in the sink until I get some feedback.

We bought this for our living room and it works like a charm! We put the filter in the dishwasher over night and my husband fell asleep on the couch that night and woke up all stuffy since it wasnt on which means it really is working and doing what it is supposed to be doing! We use it in our home in several rooms. My husband has COPD and I have allergies and our units are very helpful in keeping the air flowing and clean. They are kind of big and a little awkward to handle but their use is fairly easy; we havent had to clean the filters yet but well see how easy they are to clean when we need to.

Keeping allergy symtoms at bay
We purchased this due to our cat having allergy symptoms. The Ionic Comfort was a good choice because this air purifier captures/filters numerous allergens and is quiet enough so as not to startle the cats. A side benefit to purifying the air is the nice, clean smell without using deodorizers.

Home use - seems to work/operate fine so far - only been in use for a few days so far
Bought two Quadra air purifiers.
We use them in our bedrooms and my office. We turn them on for 5-6 hours during the day, then shut them off. We then air out the ozone with the ceiling fans, for a couple of hours, and the nightime air smells delicious!

New air filters
This new air filter replaced an old Sharper Image unit we bought over ten years ago. The design has been improved for easier filter cleaning and more variable settings for air speed. The only issue is that this unit makes more noise than the previous one so we have set the air speed lower to reduce the noise.

Great Air Cleaner
Easy to Understand Product,It gets noises past number 8 but that is at night setting that i put it on. I left it off for Four Hours and I noticed immediatly that the air was bad.

My daughter has some medical issues and this product insures the air is clean which allows her to breath easier. Love this product. This is the second purchase of air purifiers. The first two I had for years and one went so I purchased two new larger models. I buy two at a time so we can cover more areas for her within our living space. We now have 3 - they do a fantastic job.
Disappointed
I was disappointed in the quality of air purification. I bought this to add a second one to my home. It does not compare to the older model, this newer one takes much longer to clean air and I need to use a much higher number e.g 7/8 to achieve the same level of air purification. I will not be purchasing any more.
Im a 3rd generation air cleaner user.
I now am the the proud owner of 3 generations of sharper image air cleaners. Each generation better than its predecessor. The older models are now in bedrooms and the office. yes, they still work, years later. Sooo much better than the competition!

Not sure if this is improved version from Plus? But sure works better than Plus I have purchased 6 or 7 month ago.. I have 2 plus and purchases 2 more quadra. 1 in mater bedroom, 1 in the office and 2 in livingroom. I think sharper image ionic comforts are the best thing you can buy. I have tried other brands but there is no comparison. Now I wish I could trade 2 plus I have it for quadra! :)

Had two SI air purifiers in the past. They were excellent and lasted a long time. One died then later the other died...but lasted many years...longer than expected. Could tell a huge difference in a lot more dust since not having them so Ive been looking for more. I ran upon these & had to give them a try! So far...so good! I havent had them long enough yet to determine if as good as previous ones....but knowing how the other ones performed, I think these will be even better! This is only reason didnt rate 5 stars. Not only helps with dust...but puts a clean smell in the air. These are a bit louder when on high...but doesnt bother us. You could turn up during day & down at night. Considering getting more...

CAN NOT TELL IF OR HOW IT WORKS
We can not tell if this air purifier is doing anything but blowing air. It is not quiet as stated and the light at the bottom has not come on in two months telling us that it needs cleaned. The old large air purifiers from sharper Image needed cleaned every two weeks and was black on the inside coils. I see nothing that needs cleaned on this new one after two months. We bought two of these for $500. I still can not tell if it is working!! When I called the number that I purchased the two units from, nobody could tell me how they are suppose to work. By now I would think they would need cleaned if they are purifying the air! You need to have qualified people answering your phones! We only hope we did not get taken on these two air purifiers!!
Noisier than expected
I bought this to replace old Ionic Breeze Air Purifier I have had happily for years. It had no fan, so was completely silent. This purifier has a fan and when on high is too loud. So I run it on high at night when Im out of the great room and leave it on minimum during the day.

New ionic is much louder than my 1st one
very good air purifier,immediately cleans air,but was advertised as silent,which it is not. It is almost as loud as my hunter. My 1st ionic was almost silent and I was hoping this one would be also.I have a dog and a grandson who is allergic it does seem to help my grandson so i will accept the noise
I own 6 sharperimage air cleaners
I have bought 6 Sharperimage air cleaners in the past 4 years. I have 4 of them in my home and have recently bought 2 of the newer ones for my daughters home. My daughter and her husband smoke in their home and it was getting harder for me to breath when I would visit, so I took it upon my self to buy the lastest ones to help this condition. I can say it was a blessing, the air was much cleaner I could breath easier and my clothes smelled cleaner when I returned to my home after a two weeks visit. I recommend that anyone that smokes in their homes invest the money in this product.
Not worth the money.
For the money I paid for this product, there are many better options out there. Does not "purify" the air, it collects dust, and not very well. I cant run it for more than 2 hours without the dirty filter light coming on. It does not eliminate bad smells. Its just a weak fan. Incredibly disappointed in this product.

Im Buying Another One!!
This filter does what it claims. there is a distinct difference in air quality from the room where it is to other rooms in the house (thus an additional filter). On lower speeds you would not know its there, on high its just enough white noise to cover my occasional snoring. The filter element is a little bulky and the first time I put it in the dishwasher it was a bit slippery upon taking it out. I wound up with a nasty cut on my finger requiring several stitches, and the filter was missing one of the fine ionization wires (all of this is well covered by warnings in the manual). That said, when I called Filter Stream (the manufacturer) to see about a replacement wire (I thought I could replace it myself) they said I could not but that they were shipping a new filter at no cost to me (keep in mind that I dropped it, I broke it). That kind of service is worth its weight in gold in these times.

Great product- but cold in winter brrr
I purchased because I have Chronic Urticaria and I am allergic to everything. This makes me itch and literally scratch myself till I bleed. Right now it is being "controlled" by medication but I still scratch myself to death in my sleep. Doctor recommended an Air Purifier-so here I am. First let me say I immediately noticed the fresh air when I plugged this in. It can get loud when it is on full power- like a fan in summer time- but that doesnt bother me. Im still not sure what this dial is for. Is the lower setting for smaller rooms and the full power for large rooms? Not sure. I have had this about 2 weeks now so still trying to figure out what settings to use. My only complaint is that it is cold when it is blowing in the room - it is January in Michigan - even with my furnace on. But if it saves my skin and my sanity I will bundle up and take it!
Does the job
This prouduct was a replacement for an older model that lived a long time. I like it more for its appearance and cleaning. I do not like how loud this unit is. At the site it is hyped how quiet the unit it - DO NOT believe it for a minute.

Works great until you need a part
I have four of these units. The durability of the Ionizer Wire on the last two purchased is questionable. I broke one and I cant get any assistance to purchase a replacement wire. The web site says check the warranty card and call the manufacturer, no warranty card provided. I called the number in the users manual, that would be good if I wanted to order a whole new unit or check the status of an order. Very disappointed in the customer service and support available. I have a lot of money invested in these units and want them to work at peak performance.

Works great in a "doggy" house
Weve always had a couple of dogs in our home, and even though we groom and brush them frequently, we have friends and relatives with allergies so have researched products to eliminate odors and allergens. The Ionic products have greatly helped. We use several throughout our home and clean the filters regularly.

This is a great air cleaner, using one in the bedroom and one in living room. I have breathing problems and these help a lot. I am a little worried about where the wire is, Im afraid it could get broke too easy. Other than that, I highly recommend this air cleaner.

We have recently bought two Sharper Image Air Purifiers. We had two smaller ones for over ten years and decided to get two larger ones. We are thrilled with the performance of the two new machines. We bought them about three weeks ago and have not had to dust since. This is a sure way that I tell how much dust they are getting out of the air. You can tell it is pulling a lot of air through because of the air flow coming out of the filters. Very pleased.

Dirty air - bring it on!
Long ago I bought the original Ionic Breeze. They were AMAZING for my home (I have 3 of them). I am now in a bigger home and decided to get 2 more to help cover the larger area (I also have high ceilings).
This new model is even better than the original (no surprise there). As stated in other reviews, when the unit is on the higher settings it is a bit noisy, but you can set it high at night (or while youre at work). The equivalent setting (to match the old models) doesnt make noise - its only when you want to "power clean" the air that you would set it on five or six (or even up to 10!).
If these new units are like my old ones (which are running PERFECTLY after almost 15 years!!), these will last until I die! Cleaning is not a huge issue (its a little messy but its easy to do and you dont have to clean but once or twice a year).
*Note: I also had a competitor model. That model has already degraded to a point where it wont work anymore - if you get ANYTHING like this, pay the extra money and
Breathing easier after move-in
When I moved into my small apartment, I was knocked over by a nasty deodorizer smell that had been applied by the maintenance crew right before I arrived in an attempt to cover up a funky smell in the carpet. I am chemically sensitive and work at home, so I needed to find something that would work quickly and effectively. I use it in the bedroom/office. Even though the unit gave off its own smell for the first couple of weeks (I couldnt place what the smell was and couldnt tell if it was toxic), whatever it was didnt seem to cause me problems because within the first day I was breathing easier, which is most noticeable at night because I stopped coughing. The unit seems very well made and sturdy. I like the variable fan speeds. Even though my apartment is 691 square feet, this unit is all I need. I havent needed to clean the unit yet, but I am glad that I can clean it myself rather than buy filters. I LOVED the previous model and owned 8 of them. This new version is far too loud for comfort and therefore can only be used on its lowest setting, which makes it only minimally effective.

it is easy to use. i move it from room to room when i need to. it isnt super light weight but its totally manageable. if you have older dogs this machine is a miracle for purifying the air from a dog fart.

Cured My Allergies!!
I am severely allergic to dust. I was sneezing non stop since the heat went on in my house in the Fall. I bought these in Dec.-- one for upstairs and one downstairs. By the next day like magic I stopped sneezing. My allergies were gone. This week I started sneezing and noticed someone turned it off by mistake. I turned it back on and feeling great again. It is noisy. Sounds like a dull airplane. Not loud enough that I cant sleep. More like a white noise machine.

My previous Ionic air cleaner worked for over 12 years. It was much quieter and smaller. However, I do believe that this product is more effective and powerful. It allows adjustment, so I power down during the day and power up during the night when Im sleeping in the bedroom where it is located.

We have one room that needed to be dusted daily - weve had ducts cleaned without improvement - this unit has been on for two weeks and theres no dust! I think weve finally found something that works for us. I leave it on. Its quiet enough for me - provides a little white noise at night. Great product.

Purchased 2, both haas issues with their fans breaking after about a month or 2 of use. The company promptly replaced them however I still had to pay to shipping.

I think the Ionic Breeze is the best machine ever I had one the orick and its not even a year old and its broken. I seen Ionic Breeze and I told my husband that I was going to order two. he said rite away no problem. We purchased an Ionic Breeze years ago. I should of known better. I just ordered another two more machines, and some other stuff. I will never go to anyone else except Ionic Breeze and I will tell all my friends I told my friend and she said she wasnts something like. She never even saw the unit.

I just bought 2 new Ionic Comforts to replace 2 old Ionics. The old ones were whisper quiet and we loved them. The new ones are noisy! My husband could not stand the noise (even on the low setting), so had to send them back and also pay for the return shipping ( which was pricy ).
Wish you would bring back the old product!
The Ionic Comfort Air Purifier
I use the Ionic Comfort Air Purifier to rid our in home air of any allergens,bacteria that could lead to a respiratory infection and air pollution chemicals that are dangerous to breathe in and toxic to our bodies and thye environement. The Air Purifier runs continuously,is very quiet and does not disturb yur sleep.
This filter is much larger than the older Ionic Breeze machine. I have had this machine running, continuously, for 3 weeks and have not had to clean the filter yet, even after vacuuming the floor carpet in the bedrooms and living room.
I am very happy with the operation of this Air Putifier and have no complaints. The machine has been accidentally laid on the ground in the house, turns itself off but turns on to again purify the inhouse air as soon as the "On" button is pushed.

We wondered if the Ionic Comfort would really work for us, and were happily surprised to find that when we turned it on in our bedroom, the very next morning we woke up breathing freely. (Prior to using the purifier, we had been waking up congested.) The only problems we have with the product are (1) the fan is a little loud at high settings, and (2) its not very portable; weighs 20 pounds and 3 feet high, so not easy to take from room to room. But these are small complaints compared to the great benefit we are getting from using it!

Great Product
I have 2 Ionic Breeze Quadras that after 15 years still work perfectly. I thought this would be an upgrade to that but its not. The Quadra are completely silent...this one is not. The Quadra had a single unit to pull out and clean off and reinsert (a 2 minute job). These (I bought 2) I have not cleaned yet but it looks way more complicated. Such as a putting the 2 parts in a dishwasher or soaking them in a sink if you have one large enough to hold it...more likely a tub. It does the job and its a nice (very big) design and I know they will last forever. I just liked the ease of care and silence of the Quadra better but I didnt find those available anymore other than used on eBay or Amazon. They are great units but I am a little disappointed in the more complicated cleaning and the fan that makes it not so silent.

It is set at the highest speed for a very large area with a vaulted ceiling. I have only had it for 4 days and am hoping it will do its job. I am concerned about cleaning it but will see about that when the time comes. At this speed it is not really quiet. I liked the last one I had, but that was years ago.

I have owned ionic air purifiers for years and they seemed to keep room air clean and get rid of smells. One advantage I found with ionic air purifiers is they are silent and so not sound intrusive. This product is not quiet. Its louder than my fans . I havent it had long enough to know if it cleans air properly. It does seem to rid smells. But very sound intrusive and thus disappointing.
Greatest Air Filter Ever!!
I purchased two of these for my home. One is in the living room and the other is in my bedroom. This covers my home and makes it very pleasant. I was sneezing a lot several times a day and now that is almost nonexistent. I have dogs in the house and it controls the pet odors very well. You could say I am a very happy camper!

Great product
I have been struggling with allergies for the first time in my life. I was so congested the night I received the Ionic Comfort and I almost got to get a Claritin tablet but thought I would put the Ionic comfort to the test. Within 10 minutes one nostril was already clear and my headache was gone. This product is truly awesome. It is super quiet and I have not taken an allergy pill since getting it. This product works and is worth every penny!
2nd time 4 ionic air cleaners
I have had previous models of this purifier & I loved them. Thats the reason I came back 2 sharper image after one of the original went caput after 14 yrs of constant use. Love knowing Im not going to be chasing any replacement parts. Not really fond of the fan effect especially on higher settings and the newer model does have a noise, but not enough to interfere with anything.

I have had a sharper image in the past. I have used other brands, which I didnt feel they did the job. Went back to using sharper image, because as an allergy/asthma sufferer, it keeps my air clean and allergies&asthma are in check.

This is my first air purifier
This is my first air purifier. I got it because my child seems to suffer from allergies all winter long and living in an older home an air purifier was recommended. I bought this model because its specifications were the best. Its okay I guess. I have no prior experience to compare it. I was dissappointed as I was hoping to find a more streamlined model that could be tucked away into a corner. Seeing as it has to be set out away from the wall,it takes up more room than I had hoped. Also I think the machine is not as quiet as I was anticipating from the rating on line. There is definitely noise to it and I would liken it to a "white noise" machine. I will say however it is durable, as I have knocked it over on hard wood and it seems to continue to work without incident. Another thing I noticed which I was not prepared for is it seems to give a "metallic" odor to the air, however nobody in my family seems bothered by this. Done with drying
I have allergies and need clean air. To have to air dry these because my landlord does not have a dishwasher is ridiculous. You use to be able to hand dry the old filters. Youve made it more difficult.

I have pets, a cat and 2 dogs. It filters minute particles as well as airborne dust and allergins. It is easy to clean the filter by placing it in the dishwasher. Great product!
Too much money
This machine is ineffective. The buttons dont press well. The filter needs to be cleaned too often. I think I received one that was defective because it has never performed like they said it would.

I suffer with indoor allergies to most types of dust and danders found in the home. I purchased my first ionic breeze over 8 or 9 years ago and I used that unit everyday until it no longer worked. I recently purchased two ionic breeze units. I placed one in the downstairs on my home and the other unit upstairs in my bedroom. I love the new units and use them daily. The units have tremendously reduced the dust that was visible on surfaces and floating in the air. I would recommend this unit to everyone, especially if you have respiratory problems.
Effective as advertized
We are condo dwellers. Wanted to be sure fragrances in the hall were removed before they entered our unit. Tried another product from a discount big box and could not obtain replacement filters. We have two units set on medium. They are doing the job and are much quieter that those they replaced. Like the idea of cleaning the filters rather than replacing.
Better Air, Better Sleep
My husband and I were experiencing some sleepless nights because our air quality was poor. We live in the country and the dust from farmers working in the field would come into the house. We tried other air purifiers, but were constantly changing filters. Now we sleep better and save money on expensive replacement filters.

Ionic Comfor Air Purifier
I have some real allergy problems...especially at night. My old purifier was perfect and it lasted about 10 years. This one is the younger sister of my old one. If she holds out that long I will be super happy. Seems like a good machine--the other one seemed to be built in a more durable way--this one has some new features. Hope it serves me well. So far I am fairly impressed.
