Good product
It will never replace a human hand massage but does a pretty good hand massage.
Hands up for this one.
My sister broke the lower part of her arm recently and has had issues with her hand since then. When I got this for her I never imagined how immediately she would feel a difference. Now were even recommending it to those with arthritis and other hand issues. The increased blood circulation and gentle pressures seem to be increasing her hand movements and lessening her pain.

BETTER HANDS
I have arthritis in my hands and usually ask my husband to rub them. This product warms your aching hands and massages them at the same time. Wonderful. You can see the dents in my skin from its massaging "fingers", but they dont hurt my skin.
Great Product
My husband has arthritis in both hands and I purchased this product in the hopes it would help. First use was a success and he has used it a few times everyday since it arrived. He is really happy with the purchase.
Perfect for sore hands
My husband had hand surgery a few years ago and since then feels somewhat arthritic and sore by the end of the day. He appreciates a good hand rub. This device does just that, giving him some relief. The heat is a nice addition. There are multiple levels depending on your need. We would recommend this product
Amazing Power
I use this for my arhtritic hands and am amazed at the power it has for pressure and massage for a relatively low price. I wish the heating element prvided a warmer environment. the heat is only in the palm area. But still for the price, very worth the purchase
It takes awhile.
The first time I used it I didnt think it did anything. After a few uses on each hand my hand felt cold. This was with using heat. After 2 days my hands are no longer swollen in the morning. So yes it does work just not in the first 15 minutes.
Not for me
Purchased the Sharp Image Hand Massager for myself but my hand is so deformed from Arthritis that it is forced into a very uncomfortable position and it is very painful. This product is not for me but seems that it should work for most. Hopefully I can find some one who can use it.
Great and a must buy!
The hand massager is very ideal to get especially for a chiropractor because of the constant usage of hands. Its very relaxing and the pressure points when your using the massager is perfect for the amount of pressure used. Only one issue was at a point of massaging the air pressure becomes extremely tight and a bit uncomfortable but thats an easy fix with the air release button that helps function that issue. I would definitively recommend this product to everyone.

I type all day and often cant do the things Id like to do around the house because my hands hurt so much. Ive only had this for a few days, so I dont know how much therapeutic value this product will ultimately provide me, but it feels soooo good in the evening. Its not going back. Also, Ive seen reviews that refer to the inadequate heat this provides, I dont share that complaint. The heat is fine, I would welcome more, but its just fine.
As good as physical therapy.
I have a condition known as Dupuytrens which leads to contraction of my fingers. After soaking my hand in melted wax for 15 minutes, I use the hand massager for 30 minutes. It loosens the tendons as well as the physical therapist.

Bought to help sore hands. It really works. I put each hand in for 15 minutes, and they feel great for hours.

I and my wife are planning to use every day.
It is very good that it gives pressure and heat, however it would be nicer if it gives vibration too. One more I want to mention is that it does not cover up to wrist but again I have to remember myself it is Hand Massager, not wrist Massager.I am very much excited and hopeful that this unit would reduce the pain of my hand joint.

Does the job
I purchased a hand massager for my husband to use in an attempt to find relief from the pain he suffers from arthritis. He uses it 2 or 3 times a day. He is now able to grip and hold tools. It has also given him the ability to close his hands completely. Are we fans of this instrument and what it does to ease pain? You bet your boots we are!

Deep massage action with auto shut off. If your hands are small, you can actually get the machine to massage the wrists as well. This machine feels much better than manual hand massages Ive gotten in the salon.

Good product, works as described. A bit bigger and heavier than expected. Sharper Image did not fulfil the delivery promise and refused to refund next day delivery fee. I would recommend this product but not through Sharper Image.

So far Ive been using hand massager for a week and it definitely helps alleviate pain and helps with circulation.
Works like a dream
This product is so easy to use you just turn on select your setting and kick back and relax. The pressure is perfect on both high and low settings and the heat radiates from the top so you dont get awfully sweaty. It breathes well. Also its fun because you look like youre a boxing coach ready to take punches in your mit:) I have fallen asleep with it on comfortably and it turns off after desired set time. Would recommend for anyone who needs some extra relaxation in their life.

Great hand massager
I have arthritist near my thumbs, this hand massage gets to the spot and to my surprise all my fingers feel great. Its not a permanent solution, but its certainly very useful and therapeutic. It may take a bit to get use to the compression, but you can let up on that as it s working with a press of one button, it continues but with less compression.

Pretty good
My hands, wrists, and forearms get tight and sore. I have been diagnosed with tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. This machine has taken the edge off. I expected the machine to pulse more quickly and randomly, similar to a massage machine we have that "knocks" on our back fast and slow and at different points/locations and time, but that was my expectation, not from any misleading descriptions. It is good though. Probably the best design possible considering the fact that its a hand and trying to reach all areas possible.

Not what I was hoping for
I have pain along the top and bottom of my thumbs and in the part of my palm where the thumb joins the hand. I was hoping to have a deep tissue rolling type movement as the machine squeezed and heated my hand but this device didnt offer that. It did heat my hand but the heat didnt go far enough over to cover the outside thumb portion of my hand. Likewise, the varying air compression massage didnt reach the thumb portion of my palm.
I have small hands and the machine was a pretty good fit for me. I dont think it would work on a mans hand. The machine was simply constructed and easy to use. I like that you can see the timer as it counts down the massage.

I bought this as a gift for my mom, and just had to try it myself. At first, the squeezing massage didnt feel like much. But after a few minutes it started to feel really good. The heat was just right: warm without being overpowering. I suggest using it while watching TV, 15 minutes on one hand, 15 minutes on the other hand. Mom liked it too, so this gift was a big hit.

Works better than I expected
I have arthritis in my hands and after a day of working on the computer or driving a long distance, they often ache. I wasnt sure this would be worth the money, but was willing to give it a try. It really helps. My daughter even used it and even though her hands werent hurting, she noticed that they felt better afterwards. I think it must be that it helps to increase blood flow.
I wish it was a little bit quieter so it wouldnt bug my husband while were watching tv.

It was a Fathers Day gift. Sadly I have to spend $15 to send it back because the Total Hand Massager doesnt massage, all it did was vibrate a little.
Great but not for everyone
I bought this product as a holiday present for my sister who has slight arthritis in her hands. She did not like it as it was too powerful a massage for her. I however really like it. You really feel the massage and my hands felt great after. I think the controls are confusing because you can turn the heat and massage down but it isnt intuitive while your using it. Also, when I went to return it I found out you cannot return any masssagers. The deal is final when you purchase it. So be careful. On the plus side I now have a hand massager that I would not have bought for myself but am glad I have.

Good for poor circulation in hands. It provides gentle to firm massaqge. The infrared heat setting is not noticeable to most people.

Arthritis Relief
Since its bulky anyway it could have been an inch longer. My worst arthritis is in the heel of my thumb and I have to keep forward pressure with my hand to get any massage at all where I need it most.
The heat does not work on this machinel.
It does not work and now I have to pay freight to return it.

It is really not a massager at all. Rather, it is an inflation/pressure device. The basic massage setting is not useful at all - you cannot feel anything. The setting buttons are difficult to press and they do not respond well to touch. Overall, I would never recommend this product.
FANTASTIC
This is by far, my husbands favorite Christmas gift. He loves it more than I could have imagined. He uses it all the time & it relaxes him so much, he falls asleep.

Okay I guess
Not certain if this was a returned one since the batteries were already installed.
The directions were fairly useless but once you start pressing buttons you can figure it out. The LED does not seem to work when running on battery alone. Even on the lightest setting it is too much pressure for me and it gets tiresome always having to utilize the release button. The pressure setting does not seem to stay put the entire duration, it ramps itself up to the highest pressure setting all on its own. The heating seems to only cover your palm and not fingers.
I have used it a few times a day now and for hand/muscle pain it does not seem to help at all. When it is not crushing your hand it does feel nice however. Would I pay this much for something like this as a gift or suggestion, not really. If it was a gentle massage pressure as when I get one it would be great. Again, on the lightest setting it feels like a cinder block crushing your hand.

I bought the massager for my son who has rheumatoid arthritis but he was not able to use it because his hands are large and would not fit through the opening. I tried it and it was great comfort for my hands. The opening is small and you must be able to place your hand flat to use it.
Not as powerful as I had hoped
I bought this hoping is was going to be an upgrade from the Breo I bought last year. No such luck. Does not put enough pressure on your hands to make a difference. Ill be returning this item and ordering another Breo.
Absolutely a great investment
Purchased this product with the hope that it would be like live hand massages. The machine was actually better - stimulated the circulation with immediate results. My hands not only feel better but look better.

Bought this item as a gift for my wife. She has problems with her hands cramping while working in the kitchen, or any other chore requiring dexterity. So far her only complaint is the dimpling on her hands from the unit. Fortunately it doesnt last long, and her hands feel better almost immediately after starting the massage. She hasnt used it enough to give a more comprehensive review.

It is extremely difficult to push the heat button. I have to push several times before it will come on. On the plus side, the massage and heat helps to relieve the pain of arthritis in my left hand.

My wife owns a salon and spa where her hands get very sore from working so much when she gets home from work she puts the massager to the test she loves the product,so anyone thinking about this product for your wife or girlfriend its great! As for men it needs to be larger as my hands dont fit in all the way but I can say it is very powerful and it adjusts very well.

The machine does apply pressure and release around the joints of my fingers, but I was hoping for a more massage like feel.
It seems to help with circulation-but I would not order this again.
Not Your Typical Massager
Saw this product in a catalog and thought itd be great for relieving the soreness in my hands after practicing guitar. I also play upright bass and keyboard, so this really comes in handy. Im sure its great for craftworkers, hand seamstresses, typists, etc.
Very therapeutic
My wife had broken her wrist and was in the middle of physical therapy when I bought this massage unit as a Christmas present. She says that the unit relaxes her hand and has helped her regain complete use of her hand and fingers where she had been complaining that making a fist and flexing her hand had been painful and very slow to improve.
Excellnt hand therapy
My wife is a dental hygienist with 20+ years of continuous employment. She is also an avid needlepointer. Her hands are strong but they have been stressed over the years. She has told me that the hand massager is wonderful; in fact she has shered the product and its concept with the ladies in her needlepointing group. This has turned out to be a wonderful gift to her.

I bought this for my fiance because he works a lot with his hands. He broke one of them a long time ago and let it heal on its own (I know! This is before I met him) so it constantly bothers him. He LOVED this little hand massager. The compression is good and he says it makes his hands feel better.

There is nothing great about this. I was excited to get it and then totally let down after trying it. It fills up a little with air and not even enough to reach my hands then lets the air out. What a birthday let down.

Bought for Daughter who is Massage Therapist. She seemed happy about the purchase. It actually squeezes the hand with different air bladders, so it is not truly a "massage", but it helps.

I would have given this 5 stars because I really love it but unfortunately for me, the heating element only worked once (the first time I tried it) and then never worked again. I used it for a few days, a couple of times a day before returning it for an exchange and the massage was delightful! I work at a computer 8-12 hours a day and some days my hand, fingers and wrist just ache and I have to wrap a wrist brace around it but this little massager is the answer - and it is so relaxing I just love it. I hated to have to send it back and be without it for the days it will take to get another unit but since the heating element was defective, I felt it best I take care of it right away. The truth is, the heating element is nice to have but if this just didnt come with one, I would still buy it and love it. but since it does come with the heating element and it wasnt working, I didnt want to hang on to a defective unit that might have other possible issues later with the massage part. Customer service was
Great for arthritis
My girlfriend uses this to massage her hands due to arthritis. Only cons are that it is not battery operated (not a big deal) and that it doesnt cover her wrists. Shed like her wrists to be massaged as well. Overall though, so far so good. She falls asleep using this massager.
Great for elderly
My Mom uses it every morning when her hands are stiff and sore. The warmth feels so good. She likes the massage gentler but I like the deep massage when I use it. Great product. Would recommend this

I was really disappointed in the product. I thought it would actually massage. It compresses. It just squeezes your hand. Hard.

Would be OK for a person with small hands but I bought it for my husband and he felt it was too small and could not feel the heat very well.
Stimulating for hands
Need ongoing help to recover from trauma and scar tissue damage to hand. I can only use low pressure setting but it is stimulating. The first one I received had a faulty heat option but the second seems fine. My husband also uses it for his painful and stiff hands and really thinks it helps. It is a little loud when in use. Great to use when watching TV but you need to turn the sound up!

I use the power adapter that came with it and the unit seems to work wonderfully without any problems. Only problem is I do not feel any heat from the infra-red button.

Has Helped My Aching Hands
Ive had injuries to, and pain in, both thumbs (connecting muscles & ligaments to hand) during past year. I can tell with just two weeks use (1 to 2x day) that the pain/mobility has improved. My only issue is that the heat on the one I received is not working, so Im returning/exchanging it for a new one (although I hate to part with it during the shipping process). Hope it helps you too!

My wife suffers from osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and on a whim I got this for her from the Sharper Image catalog. I was the one who would be massaging her hand after a hard days work, now she just slips her hands in whenever they hurt and the portable hand messager does the rest. I cant say enough about how good this works and how well thought out the design is.

My husband (a guitar player) has complained of hand aches and pains but now has quick and long-lasting relief from this unit. I love it too and find it very relaxing to use. A great, adjustable massage.
Must say however that we gave one as a gift to my mid-80s relative and she found it very painful only because of her swollen arthritic knuckles - even on the lightest settings. Thats what we got it for. Now we wish we had it for her earlier on in her problems. There is a no-return policy on this unit. Well find someone else to give it to.

Father had stroke and husband has arthritis. Ordered one for dad for Christmas and my husband nearly wore it out before we gave it to dad so I ordered a second one for hubby. It has given him untold relief from arthritis and my dad says it is helping his circulation for stroke.

I have a lot of pain in my hands and I think regular use is making it better. Time will tell, but if this holds up I will rave about this product. Improvement will be gradual so it will take time to tell. My hands are always cold, so I was disappointed that it does not get very hot. However, after massage they are warmed up and feel good.

Helps my stiff hand after wrist surgery
I had a bad wrist break and surgery. Have been to weeks of OT, and have found this item to be helpful for stiff fingers esp. in morning or during weather changes.
I use on left hand and not sure it is equally comfortable on left and right, unless the discomfort is due to surgical status of my hand.

Simple relief with a durable and Simple Machine

Gets the job done
Controls dont allow for a lot of flexibility when trying to change the settings. Works well massaging. I have used others in the past and this one is most comfortable. Only issue is it would be nice if it was long enough to include the whole hand and wrist.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and my right hand "acts up" on occasion. This is a great product to use for the aches and pains. Its also very relaxing. I fell asleep with my hand in it. I dont experience the "it hurts" comments that others shared. Plus, I do feel the heat. It could be a little stronger in the heat dept. Overall, Im glad it bought it and I would purchase again.

My wife suffers from a disease that is making her hands curl like claws. Its difficult and painful for her to exercise them to keep them somewhat flexible. This unit sort of "forces movement" which is helping her hands become more flexible and functional. Without using heat the battery life is incredible. The heat function overall could be improved. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with arthritis or any other aliment that affects the hands and fingers.
Fantastic Hand Massager!
I have severely arthritic hands - basal joint arthritis being the worst. This hand massager feels wonderful - I could use it all day long! I typically use it while watching tv, since you still have one hand free to operate remote, use phone, or even use a tablet or computer. My hands feel very relaxed when finished. You have the ability to plug it into an outlet, as well as using 4AA batteries. Ive only had it a week but have been thoroughly impressed so far!

Not too difficult to use. Quit working within 2 days on heat element. Have yet to receive return labels in order to get a replacement. Local stores that carry your products dont carry this one.

Great Little Machine

This is easy to use and really does the trick. At first I thought the compression was too much, but since have released pressure as needed. I have never felt anything like this on my hands. I type on my PC a lot, so using this has been very therapeutic for me. No one needs to rub my hands, this machine can take care of that.

Mines Broke!
Just got it yesterday, unpacked, put in batteries, powered up--no display. Re-checked directions, re-tried, no display. Decided to go forward and give the thing a try anyway. Feels good and works OK. Persons with large hands may be a little cramped, but for my wifes average womans hand it is just about perfect.

This massager works great for my osteoarthritis in both of my hands. The heat and pressure combination gives the best releif for my constant hand pain. This product could be improved with a rechargeable battery for travel and monolith without needing a continuous power source.

I bought this as a gift for my father who has very bad arthritis in his hands and experiences swelling in his hands often. Since he has received this gift, he has used it almost continuously. He says his hands feel so much better. He is afraid for it to stop working so he is going to buy some to have as replacements in case he wears it out. Rehabilitation Assistance
My husband suffers from a very painful, tight fist due to a brain aneurysm. Although carpal tunnel surgery alieviated the pain somewhat, he was still unable to open two fingers on their own. This product has greatly increased his ability to relax those fingers. At first, he could barely straighten his hand to enter the device. Now, he can keep it there for 15 minutes without pain. He has just begun to use it recently. We are hoping it will speed his rehabilitation, and he will be able to grip a golf club by April!

Arthritic hands are painful. The pain can wake me up at night and makes daytime activities more difficult. When my husband gave me the hand massager as a gift, i was touched but a bit skeptical. But after daily use for a month, I can happily say that the device has had a very positive effect on my hands.

Total Hand Pressure Massager
This product is easy to use anywhere in my home. The massage is more of a compression, however the way it compresses all over the hand in different intervals is very soothing. This product is great for over worked hands and made the ache in my hands diminish with only one use. I could have fallen asleep while it massaged my hand. My husband even used it on his arthritic hands and said it worked better than most vibrating massage equipment he had purchased.

I suffer from arthritis, mainly in my finger joints. This has helped tremendously withe the manipulation of the joints. At first (about 30 sec) it seems really tight, which can be adjusted, but it lessens and when finished the joints move easier. Would recommend.

This massager is great in terms of the strength of massage it offers. It definitely gives as hard a massage as you want and has both 5 and 10 minute settings. You do need to wear the plastic hand covers to prevent sweating or oils from getting into the unit but thats not a problem at all. The only thing I wish was different is the heat level. It heats, but it takes awhile and the heat is not as warm as I would prefer. Also, important to use the batteries even when plugged into outlet because for some reason it seems to heat up better with all together. It really improves circulation in fingers and palm for those who may have circulation problems and the massage relaxes. I recommend it!
