fun for all
Easy set up. Easy use. I bought four sets for Christmas. I think the adults had as much fun as the kids. Its a good alternative to "sofa potato" hand held electronic games.
FUN !
Our 7 year old grandson loved it as well as Dad and Grandpa. I hope it will hold up as instructions say not to shoot at the log unless the cans and bottles are on it or else you will damage it. I think it is overpriced $25 would be more appropriate

Shootem Game Fun at Parties
This game is fun for parties, adults or kids, and men or women. Its a little loud with stupid western music that doesnt shut off, but otherwise, its hilarious to watch people play and also play it yourself. There is not a lot of "strategy" with this game--just fun for all ages (although toy guns are involved).

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my nephew but the adults took it over. The television remote activates it as well as the pistol. It was fun to play with!
Fun toy!
I bought two of these shootout toys for my rowdy grandsons. They love anything with a gun so I thought this would be a fun, "non-violent" game. They love it. The age listed is 8 and older, but my two are 5 and 6. We went over the warnings, etc. and it seems safe. They do tire of it quickly though because the nature of the toy requires immediate resetting of the props to shoot at again. It wasnt too expensive, so we will get our moneys worth. Wish I would have checked the "Ebates" site before purchasing though.

The description states "fun for all ages." It should be "for four to eight year olds." Older children and adults would try it once and find it too simple.

I bought this for my 8 year old grandson who loved it. His birthday is the day after Christmas and this gift stood out from his holiday gifts. The only drawback was the laser activated a remote control helicopter, or vice versa, so the two toys needed to be kept in separate rooms. I would recommend this gift to others.
Batteries not included
The directions say you can stand up to 30 feet away, the outside of the box says 20...which is it? The product is a ton of fun, and takes a little skill to hit the target (as it should be...)

Just like a toy I had as a kid
I saw this and it immediately reminded me of a similar toy I had as a kid about 30 years ago called Tin Can Alley. I loved that toy and just had to purchase this for my nephews (ages 7 and 8). It was a hit.... they love it! I had fun with it too after they opened it on Christmas Day!
Old fashioned fun
Ive owned one of these games for years and the children who visit me ask to play with it all the time. The two games I purchased recently are Christmas gifts for children and Im sure theyll like them.
Fun for Everyone
I bought this as a gift 6 and 9 year old boys, and it is exactly what I wanted. I looked at other versions of this product, but, this was the only one with the more realistic gun. It was delivered on time and in perfect condition. We set it up in a few minutes and the kids loved it. The gun makes a shooting sound, but is not loud. The "log" has sounds that are a little loud, but add to the game. I know it works up to 30 feet in our house, but seems like it would go much further. I am pleased with the product, and my first shopping experience with Sharper Image. The checkout was easy, and they provided a tracking number for Fed Ex as soon as it was picked up. This makes a great gift and is easy and fun for the whole family.
Nice game for older kids
Bought this yrs ago and everyone enjoyed it. Thought Id try it again. The first one I ordered did not work. I sent it back(for free) and received a sec.one that works fine. You have to be about 20 ft back and have decent aim, which makes it challenging, but I was hoping to use it with younger kids. May not be the case. But its a cute toy. 8-10 yr old can prob. mangage it. seem likse good quality. may order another as gift.

Family has had a great time with this
I always look for unique items for my son for Christmas and his birthday when I came across this and thought it looked neat. I did not really expect it to work that well and figured we would have issues with it, but we have not it works great and you dont have to have great aim as it seems to give you a little leeway for children to play and not feel left out where they cannot shoot the sensor to make the button pop up and knock each platic bottle and can off the log and it has realistic sounds to it so it sounds like you are hitting glass and cans. I thought it was really neat and everyone has enjoyed sitting around and shooting at the log with my son. I love finding items we can do together since I am not a gamer and cannot even figure out the remotes so this was a pleasant item for the family to sit around and take turns with our son.

Best Christmas present this year
I bought this for my 10 year old nephew. He opened it at 7:30 this morning and now at 2:30 in the afternoon it is still being played with. Not just by him but by everyone, especially the adults. We had a family competition, everyone took 4 shots from 6 away and we moved the target back 2 each round until all but the winner was eliminated. It was the highlight of the day for all of us. Especially for Pop Pop, he was the winner and is now bragging to everyone.

I would recommend this product
This is a great party game and can be used by both bhildren and adults. Its like a boardwalk game in your own home and the realistic pistol is better than similar products on the market. The popping bottles and cans and the sound effects make this a fun game.

Durable entertainment for a youngster
This is a great toy for a 7 year old boy. It allows him to shoot objects with no danger and promotes good aim with the reward of crashing and sounds like bottles breaking. Kids can start shooting up close and gradually back up to provide lots of challenge. It is easy to put the bottles back together with no help. A fun toy that is entertaining for a long time.

The sound effects are great and you learn hand eye coordination. Easy to put together, the only think I dislike, you have to use a screw driver to put in the batteries. The kids and I love it..

Shooting Set a Bust!
It was very disappointing to put this set together, install fresh C and AA batteries and find the gun did not work. Nothing I did could make it fire as described in the instructions. So I sent it back, asking for a replacement. Instead, Sharper Image is refunding me my purchase price. What a waste of time and shipping money!
Great for players new and old!
After I got this for my kids, a friend told me it was a re-tread of a vintage toy... well. Whatever your reason for buying, its great! Fun, easy to use, works perfectly, exciting for kids as young as 3 and as old as 52. We dont play with it for hours, but we play with it every day.
Best gift for 3 grandsons, loved it.
Our three grandsons loved the laser gun. They got a kick out of it everytime they hit a target & it played the old time western tunes. It also challenged them in their competitions. In todays world it can be very difficult to find a "toy" kids enjoy thats not high tech.
Wild West Shooting Game is great!
We had a small carnival setting for the grandkids and this worked great for them. All of them love hunting so this was right up there alley!
It does get hard to keep picking up the cans every shoot, but still love it.
Great Product Didnt Disappoint
Bought for three boys all different ages and all love shooting and hitting the target. A little loud for one boy and no volume control. Then there was the battery compartment in the gun was hard to open. Other than that we love the product.

This set was easy to set up out of the box on Christmas morning. My son loves how easy the targets are to shoot. If it is played with too close to the TV remote, that will set off the targets as if they have been shot at. Overall very satisfied with this set and my son loves it.

Great fun - shootout at the XMAS Corral
We always sponsor contests for the kids at the holidays and this year we had a shootout at the Christmas Corral. Lots of fun as one nephew was a terrific marksman. The entire family had fun especially with the sound effects and can/bottle action when a hit was made. Easy to set up (bit tricky to find the correct battery position).

This will be used at our Firefighter Fall Festival as a carnival game. We bought 1 last year through another company and it didnt work; exchanged it and the second one didnt work. We borrowed an old one, but wanted our own for the department. So pleased that this one works great and even has added music! The gun doesnt work.
The concept is fun. We just havent been able to use till the gun is replaced. Asking if Id recommend is not a fair question. I think we will love it, unfortunately the gun doesnt work.
A fun surprise
I bought just the log portion of this at a thrift store and had no idea what it was. "Ha, ha, a toy log, I thought." When I got home I looked it up and found it on line. When I read that it was supposed to come with an infrared gun, I whipped out a remote control, aimed it at the log and it worked! My kids and experimented with putting different things on the pins- cups, little toys, etc. It was really fun to see little action figures and toy animals go shooting into the air. I thought it would be fun to put it across a room and then surprise people by shooting it and have something jump into the air in front of them.
Fun Toy
Nice toy. Not particularly sturdy, so handle with care, but it works and is fun. The instructions on putting in the batteries in the gun were not clear and could have led to damage to the battery compartment. You have to remove one critical screw, and then the battery compartment opens up. Once over that hurdle, however, it was easy and worked well.
Grandson loves it
Got this for 5 year old grandson for Christmas and he opened it right away and loved it (his father did as well). The only thing I could mention as a con is that I couldnt find anything on the outside of the box saying what type batteries it needed. There was a picture of 2 AA but when we opened it up we discovered it also needed 2 D. Luckily we had them. Otherwise there would have been a very disappointed little boy
