Review Content I love it! This gadget really cuts hair nicely.. I really like it self-barber gets me trimmed I suffer from PTSD (VIETNAM VET) and one fear is getting haircuts. Last haircut was over a year ago with barber Ive gone to for 20 yrs. I panic and have anxiety attacks. Now at last I can trim my hair and look cleancut without the fear of someone using scissors and razors on me. Thanks for finding a solution to my phobia. Because the Contour Personal Barber is lightweight, compact and designed to use back and forth and up and down it cuts my hair to perfect length every time. It would be better if the length adjustment dial had numbers and an indicator to let you know exactly what length you are using it doesnt have a positive click at each setting. Once you finally get the setting you want, dont touch the dial and you will be fine. I use this product in between barber visits. Its perfect for maintaining my cut until my next visit. Thus far I have no complaints about this product. A cut above Did not collect hair as advertised, but did a great job cutting, was quick, and easy. BUT, watch the settings, the #1, setting, I came out with a Bruce Willis cut, rather than a 1/8 inch cut. Start, higher, and work your way down. I like it I like it a lot works as advertised I was a hesitant buyer, but am an ardent believer now. It couldnt be easier to use. I give myself a quick trim before heading out, and you wouldnt know it wasnt a professional haircut. Easy to use on yourself, save money on haircuts. gift for son this is a gift for my son Easy to use I purchased this item because I was going to be traveling away from my "home" barber for about 3 months. He keeps my hair short in military style so it becomes unruly with too long a grow out. This was an easy product to use and surprisingly effective. It takes a little more effort to cut the hairs on the neck behind the ears but with more practice, I think it will do fine. I tried using the "trimmer" around the ears but that is unsatisfactory for that use because it tends to pull the hairs. That is my only complaint. On the plus side, having the different and adjustable cutting length is an excellent design. My "home" barber may have lost a customer. Well set after I get back. I am 63 years old with artrites in both my hands. Wasnt sure how it would work with out me having pains but the way its design with its curved handle was great, I could work both sides of my head without any pain and the hardest part is behind the head, which this machine had no problems. I was very surprised how well it did. The clean up was also very easy, just pull out the cutter and brush off the inside. I just wished that I found this before I paid over $100+ for the product that I was using before. Thank You for allowing this old man some confort in life. The only Con at less for me was that I like my hair very, very short and I still had to use a razor but thats because I am a Marine, served 1969-1971. Semper Fi ! Everything about this little appliance appealed to us because he typically wants his hair cut immediately wherever whenever it becomes long enough, and this is far superior to the electric clippers that he has always used. It really can be used in either direction and a second set of hands is totally unnecessary. For someone who prefers a uniformly short cut and wants to do it himself at home, this is perfect! Also, the Contour Personal Barber is functionally unique and therefore incomparable to the other "self hair cutting" appliances currently on the market. The only drawback evident so far is that hair must be fairly short (i.e. not so long it lays flat) to be successfully cut. Good for a do it yourself job The video on the website makes it look like all the cut hairs are captured by the trimmer and you simply empty it out when done. Not the case at all. It left hairs all over me which happened to be very sharp and pricked my bare skin. Cover up when you use it. The end result is ok for me when I need a trim and dont feel like going to the barber. My hair was about 1 1/2 inch and so it took several strokes to obtain a 1/2 inch cut. Will use every week to maintain the cut. Pop up trimmer not very effective. The trim guide to get a variable cut length was not easy to remove. This must be done a few times to remove cut hair otherwise you stop cutting hair. Overall a good product that I will be using every week. Results are equal to the barbers $ 20 haircut. Junk Cut very uneven. Just threw it in the trash. The only thing that keeps it from being perfect IMO is the pop-up trimmer does not do the job at all!! The trimmer is totally useless; it seems to "grab and pull" one or two hairs at a time. If you are willing to overlook this fact, it is a great little product. I use it regularly (2-3 times a month) to maintain the ultra-short cut I prefer. It is a time and money saver. This was my first time buying from them, and given that I now have to wait, print a label if they ever send me one, send this one back, then wait for a replacement, it is the last time I expect to purchase from them.
