Great little trainer
After sustaining a knee injury and like all of us being stuck for many hours behind my work desk I decided to purchase this as a way to keep my leg muscle active and my knee limber. I pedal for 10-20 min at a time but in a course of a day it adds up. If I dont get to go to the gym or for overall wellness benefits this machine deliverers. Best part, its sits under my desk and was super easy to assemble.
Smooth and quiet
This little elliptical is perfect for my apartment. The motion is very smooth especially when sitting. When standing the motion is not quite as smooth, but it still provides an effective workout. Its super quiet and was very easy to put together with the tools provided.
Nice for apartment dwellers!
I am a nurse who works nights so my free time is at odd hours. I like to work out around 3:00 AM on my nights off. This exercise machine is quiet so that I dont wake up my neighbors in the apartment below me. Its light weight for a piece of exercise equipment so it will move easily when I change apartments. Im a small person 5"2" and 110 lbs so it suits me well. Larger persons have tried it for a short time and thought it wouldnt give them enough of a work out. I told them they didnt stay on it long enough. It works great for me.
Compact Elliptical Trainer
I bought this for my 89yr old mother...she LOVES it! Easy to use..uses at her convenience. Settings can be adjusted to easy which works well for her. I am thinking of buying one for myself as well!
Great Product!
I use this elliptical machine while seating in my home office chair in front of my computer/tv. I have a new standup desk so its very convenient to use while Im on my computer, listening to music, or watching tv. I love it!
can be used for weight training too
I use it when I cant be more physical due to illness or injury. Its easy to use but once its in place its very hard to relocate. Its bulky and heavy so its hard to carry to another location. I cant use it standing, but it works well in the seated position.
GBS workout
In my rehab from GBS, I am confined to a chair and this affords me a great workout.

As a recent owner of an Octane elliptical I was hesitant to purchase this product mainly due to its size! However recently selling our home and moving temporarily into an rv we could not possibly fit the Octane in. So we sold our elliptical:( and I have been searching for the last couple of months for a new piece of equipment to workout on! Upon my first workout I was amazed! It has adjustable resistance which help you get the intensity you desire for your workout! I am completely happy with this product and definitely encourgse others to try it as we!! I dont think you will be disappointed at all!!

distance measure seems totally off-kilter. Wobbles if you have it on a carpet. Too heavy for a suitcase in airplane travel.

useful product
This is a great product to use when youre confined to inside and perfect for if youre just watching tv or doing something mindless. I wouldnt say it replaces going to the gym but you can definitely get your heart rate up and get a good workout in (especially if you add hand-weights and do extra movements at the same time). I would definitely recommend this to others.
Couch Potatoes Can Exercise Too
I liked this so much that I bought three - one for home, one for office, and one for my sisters house where I frequently go for weekend visits.
The best thing is the convenience - I can stand and pump or sit and pump in front of the tv at home or at my sisters house. At work, I have it under my desk and can get in 15-20 minutes a day while I am sitting answering emails.

I just received my elliptical trainer so am pretty new to it, but have already seen that it is something I will enjoy. It is fairly heavy and bulky, those are my only two complaints. Very quiet and efficient! Im excited to find something I can use while watching TV, that will be the main time Ill use the trainer. Would definitely recommend.
Love the elliptical trainer
I can sit in a chair read a book or watch TV and peddle away. It is so easy to use. I am older so this works great for me. It is not hard exercise and I need to keep strength in my legs.
It is heavy and not easy to move from room to room so you have to pick a place and leave it there.

Ive had this for a week. Im a 60 year old woman and it was easy to put together by myself. I have it in the family room and I step up on it several times a day, watching tv for a few minutes, it reminds me to keep moving. I was unsure about balancing issues but it is perfect! If its late in the evening and Im tired or Ive had a glass of wine I turn it around and sit back on the couch and still get a workout, while relaxing! This is the first time I have reviewed a product online but I feel so strongly about this that I just wanted to spread the word. Even if you belong to a health club, like me, this is a really great addition to your workout regime. This is really a great product and should be in every house and office too! It keeps you moving!!!
I find theElliptical Trainer perfect for my needs.
It is great for me because Im 71yearsof age and I do a lot of walking for exercise. But the inclimate weather of winter keeps me inside. Now with the strider I can still get my exercise at home. And because it is low impact it is easy on my legs and hips.
Good workout
Because of my knees, I had to let go of my stair stepper... Ive wanted to replace it with an elliptical, but was waiting for a good quality one at a reasonable price. This Sharper Image elliptical does the trick!... I forgot what a great workout they are. I workout at least 30min a day & after 10min on this elliptical, Im sweating. I found that a looser tension setting & my feet placed closer to the front of the pedals is most effective.

Cool little exercise machine!
Fun to use. Im getting used to balancing while using it standing up -- I use my cross country poles or a chair to lean on. Using it while sitting is very easy. Very nice that it can be used both ways. Its so small -- the first piece of equipment I can tolerate in my living room!

It was easy to assemble and is very well built. It is much smoother than I anticipated and it is easy to use. I have it in my office at work and it is a great stress reliever. It would be great in an RV because it is so compact.
Great Workout
I use this daily at my office, throughout the day. It provides a good workout whether I am sitting or standing. Being able to adjust the tension allows me to exercise at an appropriate challenge level, depending on my circumstances.

Great for getting back into shape after a long illness with too much down time. Unlike other "compact steppers/ellipticals" the intensity can be adjusted, and this extends the life of the machine before you out grow out of it. I purchased the one without handles because I prefer to run on it. At first I thought I had made a mistake because I had to use the back of a chair for balance, but within a week I was up & running with great balance. I just love it! I feel stronger and have dropped 12 lbs. in 6 wks working at it every other day for 30 to 50 minutes. My clothes fit better and I feel better about myself.

Budget or Space Limitations - Love it!
I am, at heart, a couch potatoe so I am always looking for exercise that combines with tv/movie watching. For years, Ive had the Sharper Image elliptical slider, which is good for stretching and using up some calories but no increased resistance option and doesnt really fold or store easily. This compact elliptical trainer is great! Do it standing for best workout or sitting for change or if youre tired, but keep working those muscles (forward and backward)! My 88 year old mother uses it from a sitting position. If youre going to go fast in a standing position, you might need a chair to touch for balance. The unit is small enough to store (but not under most beds). My only complaint is that it is just a touch heavier than Id like, but I guess that helps with stability. Im buying a second one for my sister.
So little, but so much
Didnt know what to expect when I ordered it, but was pleasantly surprised when we put it together and tried it. Stable, requires you to maintain balance and develop core strength to get better at using it.
Was surprised at how much I felt the muscles being used after only a few minutes on it. Now I can watch TV and do some exercising at the same time.

I have a chronic, painful nerve condition. I take medication for this condition that makes me gain weight. So I needed to do something about all of the weight that I had gained over the years. I had to go on a diet and begin exercising. Except there are only a few types of exercises that I am able to do comfortably. This is why I purchased this Product in the first place - it seems like it will be perfect for me.
Surprising
Over the years, I have purchased and NOT USED other in-home exercise equipment. The Compact Elliptical Trainer appears to be very different. It was easy to assemble and it is simple to use. If you position it near the TV, you cant help but use it for short intervals. It is easy on my aging knees and I could feel it working the muscles of my legs after only 5 minutes. It gets your heart rate going too. Its probably not for the hardcore exercise enthusiast who uses a gym-type elliptical trainer as it may not give you enough of a workout. Its super easy to move so it is never in the way. The metal plate under the wheel makes it so you can use it on carpet, tile, hardwood or wherever. This is a piece of equipment that WILL get used.
Good Product
Im a 35 yr old female, 55 and 200 lbs. I love this machine. Its easy to use, sits in the corner of my bedroom and I watch TV while I work on it. In retrospect, I wish I had paid the extra for the handles. My core and sense of balance arent very good but even having said that its not too bad. I just have to be a little more aware of what Im doing. This definitely brings up your heartbeat. I definitely recommend.

Compact and User-Friendly
I bought this so Id be able to exercise my hip, mostly in the winter in the house. The tension adjuster has a good range for easy to hard workouts. You get more of a challenging workout when you stand and use it, but can be used sitting down. Compact; can be pushed to a corner when not in use. Sort of heavy to move, but thats because its constructed well -- its not flimsy. I like this better than a stationary bike for the exercises I want for my hip. I am using this consistently -- not ignoring it like I would a treadmill or bike. (Besides, I dont have room for those items in my apartment/in front of the TV).

I tried a few other similar products and ended up returning them because of their weight and difficulty moving around. This is everything I wanted and slips easily under my coffee table out of sight. A simple machine that does exactly what its supposed to do and without all the extra gadgets that add weight and cost.

Perfect for Smaller Homes
Ive had this machine in teh box for months because I prefer to do my cardio outside in the summer. Used it last night for the first time and I love it. It is the perfect size for my 1000 sq. ft. home. Im happy to have this machine for the fall/winter months indoors to help stay in shape.

I think this would be a great product for its intended purposes, however our use is probably somewhat unorthodox. I purchased this elliptical for my brother-in-law who has had a severe stroke. He is non-ambulatory but is beginning to get a little movement in his right hip and knee. He is having swelling in his right leg due to disuse. I was very hopeful that he would be able to use this as he is seated in his wheelchair, and was overjoyed when he was--immediately. It will provide passive range of motion for his right ankle, hopefully reducing swelling, and exercise for many muscle groups of his leg since he can go forward or backward. He will be able to use it for a long time as his strength increases because of its tension adjustments. And the read-outs provide positive reinforcement as he can see how much he has done. I could not be more pleased!

Best indoor eliptical
Great product
I was never sold on indoor equipment, however, since I have moved to a higher elevation I cannot run every day....too darn cold in the mornings.
This fills the minimum daily requirements for me.
I love the fact that there are no "handles" so it mimics natural running. Core strength in tact.

Compact is the right descriptive
Things that are great: definitely compact, not suitable for a clothes hanger as are so many other pieces of exercise equipment. Marvelous workout for the thighs, the muscle workout is immediately evident, the improvement in muscle tone and use (e.g. rising from a kneeling position after gardening) follows pretty quickly. Things not so great: yes, definitely compact -- its a short stride for sure and takes a bit of getting used to. Not so great, as well, is a ban on referring to other retailers and pricing in these comments.
GREAT PRODUCT!
Working 2 jobs doesnt leave me much time to exercise. So when I am at home I can still burn calories while watching TV. I dont have to dress up and can do it no matter what the weather is like outside. I only used to go to the gym to use the elliptical but now Im saving monthly dues and just use this at home. GREAT!
Easy to keep motivated

Glad I Purchased
I use this product daily. If Im tired, I use it sitting down. The adjustable tension is great! It really gives you a workout, even sitting down. I have worked up a sweat a few times by using it longer than 15 min or with the tension tighter. But mostly Im using it for cardio.
It is a little heavier than expected, but that makes it more stable. Didnt think I would get used to using it standing up without handles, but only took a few days. The trick is to be careful getting on and off, and use your arms for balance.
Im very glad I purchased this! Sometimes while watching TV at home, Ive done 70 minutes without even realizing it. Read the instructions though. It turns one way for using it standing up and the other way for sitting down. Makes a difference too because having it the wrong way for sitting down is a little awkward.
While it is easy to move, it does have some weight on it. I bought a exercise pad to put under it, so now I just pull the pad to where I want it instead of lifting the machine.

I work from home a lot, spending hours at my desk. I have a desk you can raise and lower and this is perfect for getting exercise while I work. I can use it sitting or standing at my desk. It is quiet. It was super easy to put together. I havent had it long, but Ive used it quite a bit.

Great while watching TV, or if weather is not great enough for outside activity. This i can just slide under the bed until later. It is not design for travel unless driving somewhere. It is a tad heavy but it is durable then most i have seen. I am happy and I can bring it to work and use, too.
Love it! Exactly what I was looking for
Gave as a gift to my husband but the whole family is using it. Portable so it goes with us when we travel in our RV, or moves from room to room at our house depending on who is using it. Easy to set up, easy to use. No excuse not to exercise with this! And very effective too - you feel the results!
Elliptical Trainer - Great!!!

Elliptical Traine is great.
I am older and keeping strength and flexibility in my legs is very important. I sit in a chair and use the trainer. It doesnt feel like exercise. I also like the fact that I can see what I have accomplished at the end of the exercise. It shows distance, time, calories and number of rotations.

Work graveyard shift & cant access the gym @ work because would have to leave the building - not possible on my shift. Compact & can easily store to use when possible on my break time.

I have used it to get in that exercise I need when I am too busy to go to the gym. It impacts my body the same way as the elyptical does at the gym. It is very sturdy and durable. What else can I say, it works great with my busy schedule.
smooth operation and compact
We needed this for travel in a rather small RV and it suits the purpose beautifully. Its compact enough to fit in a small closet and not crowd us when in use. The operation is very smooth and quiet and the adjustable control makes it perfect for keeping in shape on the road. Love it!

Efficient elliptical
A good little product that easily moves out of sight when not in use. The short stride almost makes it more of a stair master than an elliptical but it still allows a good work out. I dont want to commit to a home gym, but am realistic about my likelihood of going to an actual gym-- this provides a nice alternative for me.

Take it sitting down
my balance is not so great so using this sitting down is fantastic. Broke a sweat in the first 10 minutes. Could feel the effects in thighs, hips & glutes. Its quiet enough to do in front of the big screen so you dont even feel like you are exercising because you can be into your shows, news or movies.
Quiet and Compact
I needed something I could use at home at any time of the day. This is perfect for my needs. It is small enough that I could put it near the tv and not worry about taking up the entire room. It is quiet enough that I can use it in the evening and not wake anyone. I bought the unit without handles and although I at first regretted that decision, now that I have used it for a couple of weeks have found that I dont need the handles. I guess my balance has improved!

Need an exercise machine to take in RV
When traveling in our RV, we want something to exercise on when we cant get outside..thought this fit the bill. Compact and wont take up much room in our RV. Have only tried it at home a couple of times and think it will work great for us while traveling.

I have no complaints. I am 55 urs old and it is easy on the knees, very effective in shaping your legs and buttocks and rides like a Lexus. The best thing I have ever bought. It physically will get you in shape and you can watch TV too.
Great for office use
I love that this product fits under my desk at work so I can use it while I am cleaning out emails or reading documents on my computer screen. Rather than feeling like Im just sitting and gaining weight, I feel like Im at least getting a bit of exercise during at time that used to be unproductive.

Great product
This was a gift from Santa (me of course). I t came within a week and my husband put it together within minutes. However, it started making this loud clicking sound, so we packed it back up and called Sharper Image for an exchange. To make a long story short, the company sent me a new one, told me to keep the old one, rather than lugging it to the post office etc. Never had a company call me and do this for me, exceptional customer service, exceptional product. Was told by doc no more running due to health issues, use an elliptical for the same results. Didnt want to spend a thousand dollars, so I ordered this one, just as good. Sharper Image is a quality company, seriously.
some assembly required
The elliptical trainer arrived quickly, but sat in the box for several days until I could get it put together. I wouldnt say it was terribly difficult, but it did take a while to figure out. Once it was assembled, I was very pleased with the performance and ease of use. It is very sturdy and I like the display.

I bought this because I previously used to own a similar stepping machine that I bought from the Sharper Image store back in 2000 and I used it everyday and lost about 50pounds over the course of a year. Unfortunately I had to move and left the stepper behind. This is much better than the one I used to own. It has not only the power of a stepping machine but also an eliptical! Its much easier on the knees and I dont get cramps after my workouts. However, it was a little hard to assemble and is a bit bulkier than the other one and storing it is a problem since it doesnt fit under my bed but for an at home eliptical/stepping machine, it doesnt get any better than this! Highly recommend it!

Harder than you think

But after working out on it, it is very effective and harder than I thought. Works on muscles not only to keep them healthy, but also works on balance. After two minutes, I felt it!! This is going to help me keep limber, stronger and it wont take an all day workout at the gym.
Nice product
I first started using the machine while seated on my couch. That allowed for some low-level cardio. I have now added light weights to my standing routine. (Yes, I am now off the couch). I used to have a glider from sharper image but like what I can do when I add weights. However, I wish the depth of the stride was deeper. It is not more than 6 inches I estimate. This product is great for casual use but I needed to add other equipment to REALLY get my heart rate going.
As Expected, But Thats Good!
Couldnt wait to use this. Its as expected from the reviews. Yes, a little clunky when standing up, but do-able. But with a little practice (standing near a wall or counter), quite soon you can manage without holding on. Works great sitting down also. Did it the entire time The Grammys were on. Increased the tension and I could feel it in my thighs and buttocks. Its a little on the heavy side, but not too heavy to move. Just be careful.

I really like it, would buy it again. Thought it was portable, a little heavy to move around a lot. It is a good cardio workout!
GREAT BUT COULD BE IMPROVED.
Its difficult to move out of the way. An attachable handle would make it easy to use then just push or lift out of the way when not using. Too heavy to just pick it up or pull it out (from under bed etc).
Great workplace addition
I bought this for my wifes office to add to a standing desk we are installing. Being so sedentary during her long workday, she is excited to add some movement to her regimen. This was very quick and easy to assemble, and thus far, it seems well constructed. That it does not require power to use and it is quite compact are both positives.
Amazing product!
This product was easy to assemble. We love using it while watching television or when we are watching movies! Already worked out using it every day now!
